  1. The usual place is reporting that the X-Jet will feature Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, and Cyclops. Storm seems slightly less confirmed than the rest though. Very disappointing to see two minifigures outright recycled especially since they're likely going to pop up in the X-Mansion as well. For the price and lack of Sentinel, this better mean that Magneto has leg printing and maybe even dual molded arms. I'm not counting on Storm having her long hair or Wolverine appearing in his jacket to make then different.
  2. Stan Lee would have been the better choice, especially since we've surprisingly enough never gotten him in minifig form before minus the Lego games. If we ever get a Baxter Building tower set, I'd love to see him as Willie Lumpkin.
  3. Sorry to bring it back to the X-Men but there's a Funko Pop set featuring six characters: Magneto, Jean Grey, Gambit, Cyclops, Wolverine, and Storm. Variants include Magneto in his X-Men costume (with the big M) and Wolverine in his street clothes. I wonder if this means we can expect Wolverine in the X-Mansion to be featured in his jacket instead of his costume and two Magnetos spread out in both sets. One in his villain costume (perhaps the X-Jet set) and one in his hero costume (the X-Mansion set?)
  4. Do we know yet how many minifigures are in the tower set?
  5. Does anyone think we'll ever get the Lovegood House or Shell Cottage?
  6. Didn't the Daily Bugle set come out in early 2022? The Disney/Fox deal had already been in effect since 2019 so that never made much sense to me. The X-Men had already started to come back in merchandise by then. I know these sets are planned years in advance but it seems strange that in a 2-year span they couldn't add two minifigures. You're right that it would be nice to see both of them pop up in future Spider-Man sets. Iceman isn't a part of the main cast of the X-Men series so it would probably be easier to get him this way. As for the Torch, they could include him in his flame on mode and if we ever get FF sets later on, we could get him in his actual FF costume.
  7. Considering the Human Torch and Spider-Man's friendship, it would have been really easy to throw him into the Daily Bugle set. I'm guessing Marvel is holding back on FF Lego sets or minifigs for a reason. At least we have Doom.
  8. There's no way this would ever get made into a set. If they won't do Malfoy's Manor, they definitely won't touch Godric's Hollow since the only significant events that occur here are Harry's parents being murdered and Nagini slithering out of Bathilda Bagshot's corpse.
  9. The Daily Bugle was a good set even if that focused more on Spider-Man for obvious reasons rather than the Classic Avengers. I was glad to see Firestar included but somewhat disappointed by the lack of leg printing to depict her boots. It makes me hope we might one day see another version of Firestar released but with boots. Same with the lack of dual-molded arms for her gloves. And I remember Firestar having no patterns or design on her chest so the fact that they put so much printing on her torso was also a strange choice imo. When it comes to the Avengers, I'd like to see more comic accurate versions like classic Hawkeye in the purple mask, Scarlet Witch in her pink and red costume with cape, Vision in his comic costume with cape and collar rather than the muted colors of his MCU version, etc. Not to mention a classic Ms. Marvel (the Carol Danvers version) or a new classic Thor minifigure with leg printing for his boots and a more accurate helmet/hair combo rather than just generic hair. Lego seems more open to using comic depictions for Spider-Man than the Avengers anyway. Like you said, thankfully with the X-Men the depictions in the cartoon are more or less comic accurate so that isn't an issue for them. But bringing back that SDCC Spider-Woman minifigure, she'd fit in more with the X-Men minifigs than the MCU Avengers ones. Daredevil and Elektra also had rights issues because they were Fox characters. Those rights reverted earlier back to Marvel than with the FF and X-Men because there were no new movies with them but even then, Marvel hasn't done much merchandise with those two because they were first linked with the Netflix series which was too mature for kids merchandise. Daredevil at least did get a minifigure finally but I'd like to see more of him and his characters. Are the Jean and Spider-Woman figures both ranging around $1000-$2000 each? When they first came out, I remember the average price for them was about $250 each. It is annoying that they were specifically chosen as exclusive figures because of their popularity. The fact that their designs are so outdated now does give me hope we'll one day see new versions of them which will technically keep the originals as exclusives.
  10. I grew up with Marvel at the same time as you did. All those characters you listed plus the ones that were heavily promoted because of the Fox and Sony movies. And the X-Men and FF weren't ignored back then which was a plus since those were the main two teams I cared for. Spider-Woman was lucky that she was the only female team member of the New Avengers, and that was Marvel's flagship book so she was heavily promoted as Marvel's premiere female character. When Ms. Marvel joined, she became the other main flagship heroine of Marvel as they were heavily promoting her. Unfortunately, Spider-Woman has lost a lot of her prominence since then, in part because unlike her contemporaries such as Carol Danvers and She-Hulk, she's not in the MCU. Then Marvel began to really build up the Spider-Man universe and family and Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen took off with Spider-Gwen being promoted as the main female spider over Jessica. Really would have liked to have seen Jessica in the Daily Bugle set, even if she's more an Avengers character than a Spider-Man character. Elektra is another one I wish had been included due to her ties with Daredevil. And while she doesn't have much connection with Spider-Man in the comics, she was more heavily featured in the Ultimate Spier-Man comics. Elektra was another character who was heavily promoted in the 2000s and was more or less the main female character who appeared on merchandise back then, alongside Jean, Storm, and the Invisible Woman. I'm happy we're getting an Avengers Tower but as someone who prefers the comic Avengers, I wish we could get an Avengers Mansion with all the comic book outfits instead. I'm aware but by that logic, we can also consider Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman to be Avengers since they were briefly members. Same with the Thing. For the general public, only Xavier out of that list would be considered an X-Man. Maybe Mystique would be considered one because of the FoX-Men movies. However, these sets are not based off of the comics or movies but the 90s show. Ergo, Xavier is the only X-Man and even he's not one anymore since he left the team and earth. Nightcrawler is very likely since he's joining the team in the new show. He was also heavily promoted in the original show despite only appearing in two episodes. Yet in the DVDs containing the entire original series, he was on two covers. I can see Colossus appearing down the line if he appears in the new show. He was in the original for two episodes also but he never even appeared in costume. Kitty will depend on whether or not they introduce her in the new show. They specifically left her out of the original, first because Marvel mandated that Kitty not be included and then later on they felt she was superfluous with Jubilee there.
  11. Only one of those characters you mentioned is an actual X-Man with Professor X.
  12. The only reason I would assume he isn't included is because he's not in the series anymore but even then, I can see Lego maybe including him anyway since he's so central to the X-Men and an X-Mansion without him would feel odd. And even though the sets seem to be based on the new show, they might still contain easter eggs or features from the original show. You have good taste ;) I would absolutely love to see Jessica Drew and Jean Grey get new minifigs. I was disappointed Jessica wasn't part of the Daily Bugle set. The lack of a Jessica in the MCU is probably a reason why they haven't bothered with her since her SDCC figure. She definitely needs dual-molded arms. A few pages back, some of us talked about how Jean as Phoenix would a very easy figure to revamp. Light green instead of medium/emerald green is more accurate to the original comics as would be pearl gold for her emblem, sash, boots, and gloves instead of plain yellow. And she would need dual-molded arms and preferably a new hairpiece as well instead of the generic hair they used for her and Storm.
  13. If we do get Magneto, at least it should be an updated version. While the original minfigure was fine for its time, it looks awfully barebones next to the new Wolverine, Storm, and Beast. I don't have a problem with him being included in the X-Jet, but if they repeat him for the X-Mansion, that would be annoying. I wouldn't count the rumored minifigure list for the X-Mansion as set in stone so I doubt Professor X will be the only new minfigure. There's also the consideration that he's not part of the new show so there's not even a guarantee he'll be included. Lego also likes to include diversity in as many sets as possible now, especially their big sets. If they can take major sets like the Hogwarts Express and remove iconic characters like Hermione and Ron to instead include generic characters for the sake of representation, there's no way they'll create an X-Mansion set with only Storm for representation. Not with Jubilee, Bishop, and Sunspot as main members of the team and Bishop in particular has been appearing in all the X-Men '97 merchandise so far. If he's not in the X-Jet, he'll for sure be in the X-Mansion set. I agree that it was annoying that Storm's original minifigure had a generic hairpiece especially when the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game gave her a new hairpiece that was more comic accurate with her tiara.
  14. I'd still like to see minifigs dressed for Bill and Fleur's wedding.
  15. Isn't the Hogwarts Express retiring rather soon? It hasn't been out very long. That seems to indicate it hasn't been a major seller.
  16. I could see that. When the X-Men debuted in the 60s, the mansion didn't really have a subbasement. Cerebro was a computer part of Xavier's office and the Danger Room was literally just a bare room which would lock from the outside and then all the machinery and traps would come out. It wasn't its own underground chamber with a viewing booth as we know it today (that started in the 70s). Another thing to remember is that the spherical room with long runway that we associate with Ceebreo today was a creation of the movies. In the show, it's just a helmet that comes out from the ceiling. So it wouldn't be that far fetched to move everything to the upper floors. I would still like to see some of the X-Men's bedrooms like Storm's attic with her plants.
  17. I'm also interested in seeing a Leaky Cauldron set. That and Knockturn Alley would complete Diagon Alley.
  18. Nightcrawler and Morph will also be part of the main X-Men team. On top of that, new merchandise has just been revealed featuring the Goblin Queen (Jean Grey's clone/Dark Phoenix 2.0) and baby Cable. And we know the future Cable will have a major part in the show as well, especially with Mr. Sinister as the big bad. Moreso than the minifigures, I'm curious about what rooms the X-Mansion will have. Because the parts of the mansion that most people associate with it are the subbasement levels like the Danger Room, Cerebro, the X-Jet hangar, the War Room, holding cells, Beast's lab, the medical bay, etc. And I have no idea how they plan on incorporating all the underground rooms as part of the house since the set doesn't seem like it'll be big enough to be like the Gringotts set where there's a detachable underground section. I wonder if this will be a Jabba's Palace/Rancor Pit scenario where the subbasement levels will come out later as a separate set that fits underneath the actual mansion. The actual mansion is mostly associated with classrooms because of the movies but the movies are what established Xavier's school as having hundreds of students. The 90s show did not depict the mansion as being primarily a school, so outside of Xavier's office and the bedrooms of the X-Men, I can't imagine what they'd even include in the upper levels.
  19. In the comics, it's very standard to have dozens of variant covers featuring Venomized characters and often merchandise is made of these versions, even if they only appeared briefly on covers. So it doesn't surprise me that Lego is going this route as well because anything with Venom clearly seems to sell.
  20. The only thing I can think of is that they wanted McGonagall in a recent set and since she doesn't fit in any of the others, they've put her in the Boathouse. What was the last set she was included in? Has it been a while since she's been in something since I can only remember the Hogwarts Trunk.
  21. Venom sells no matter what form he's in. Mr. Sinister is definitely not on that level of popularity or recognition.
  22. I agree with you about the pearl gold for Phoenix instead of the bright yellow. That would make for a much nicer color combo. The emerald green and yellow combo is better suited for Rogue (or Banshee if he was ever lucky enough to get a minifigure). I've seen some versions of the SDCC Phoenix minifigure with Firestar's hairpiece and it does look much better. That's a good point. I looked at the Bo Katan minifigure and she looks fine with the headgear printed on. Another benefit to having the skull printed on her head instead of molded onto her hairpiece is that the hair could be swapped out for other red hairpieces if one wanted Mystique to have longer hair than the short bob (the hairpiece for the SDCC Phoenix minfigure could work here then). Sabretooth would also be a natural choice for the X-Mansion because not only did he spent time living there in the 90s comics (usually in the holding cells of the subbasement) but the 90s show depicted the same thing. However, since the sets are based off of the new show, I wouldn't expect the originally rumored minifigures to have any bearing on the actual minifigures we'll get. We'll have to see if Sabretooth, Mystique, or Juggernaut even appear in the new show to warrant merchandise for them. With Mr. Sinister, the reason I can't see him in the mansion set is because he's not really the type of villain who's known for hanging out there or staging his attacks at the mansion (although he did in the 90s show during Scott and Jean's second wedding). Imo he'd stick out more than Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth, or Juggernaut would if they were included. The same way I wouldn't expect to see Apocalypse in the mansion set, because he's another character more associated with his own bases and not attacking the X-Mansion. If there's any reason to include Sinister as part of the mansion, it's only because he's the big bad of the first season and they really wanted to include him but can't fit him into the X-Jet. With so many great villains, I hope we get more X-Men sets besides just the two rumored so far because I can't imagine we'll get more than 2-3 villains from these sets. I know merchandise for the new show has already started to come out and the showrunner confirmed that there will be a wave 2 of merchandise that features all the spoilery characters like so hopefully this means there is still a chance that Lego will have more X-Men sets released in a later wave that we haven't heard about yet.
  23. With Gringotts out now, does everyone think that expansions to the D2C Diagon Alley sets are done and the ongoing focus will only be on the cheaper, playset versions like what we got with Weasley's Wizard Wheezes? Or is there a chance we could still get a D2C Knockturn Alley to connect with Diagon Alley in the future? McGonagall is the one who greets first-year students when the boats arrive at Hogwarts and take them to the Entrance Hall so maybe that's why they chose to use her even if she doesn't appear at the Boathouse itself.
  24. I'm also worried that if we see characters like Cyclops or Rogue in the X-Jet, they won't have leg printing. Or in Rogue's case, even side arm printing. In the comics, the main four are the same as the movie's main four characters as you can see below. While the Phoenix minifigure was good for its time, it really wouldn't look good with the new X-Men figures with the lack of dual-molded arms to showcase the yellow gloves. The green of her costume should also be a lighter shade of green (as seen in the pic above) rather than the emerald green they went with. The lighter green that Shaggy, Peter Pan, and Robin Hood wear in their minifigures is more accurate to Jean's Phoenix costume in the comics and the 90s show. Mystique would also need the skull on her forehead. That wouldn't look very good printed on her face behind the hair whereas the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game gave her a molded hairpiece with the skull molded onto the hair which is more accurate. If the X-Mansion features any villains, I think it'll likely be Mystique or Juggernaut. Mystique has a habit of infiltrating the mansion with her shapeshifting powers (and she lived at the X-Mansion during the 90s for a while as well). Juggernaut's fights with the X-Men are usually depicted with him crashing into the mansion so he's another likely choice and I can see a big fig being included in the mansion set. The only other option for a villain at the mansion would be Magneto but in his reformed X-Men costume with the big M that he was seen wearing in early promo art for X-Men '97 since he's part of the X-Men in the show now.
  25. In civilian clothes, he wears red shades so the visor wouldn't have much reusability outside of his main costume.
