Like everyone suggests, it's broad. I had a Lego set up that was (for decades) in a 80s/main street 'minifigure scale'. Then after I started seeing a lot of (what became) the modular scale on several blogs, I made a second set up that was a modular scale. I would also consider this to be 'minifigure scale'.

Death of Lego Investing? Rerelease of Taj Mahal
Gomek replied to Doom2099's topic in General LEGO Discussion
OK so a couple quick points... This has not been the first time Lego has re-released sets. Metroliner, Main Street and others were re-released in around '02 or '03. Lego has always been a little flaky and unpredictable with these things, often times cutting a product short before it's even on the self a week (Research Institute) and never (to the best of my knowledge) letting people know what the production runs on sets are. As many noted, and who I agree with... The only people I really feel bad for are the people who bought this on the secondary market just prior to re-release news, and paid top dollar. And as I've pointed out before.. Lego 'investing' is heading toward a bubble that is going to burst. There is way more Lego supply out there than demand. Right now a lot of that supply is in the closets of hoarders and speculators, but that won't always be the case. That will spell the end of investing WAY before a few re-releases affects the over-all market value of Lego. AND not to be morbid and state the obvious.. but a lot of collectors will not be buried with their Lego, so a good portion of everyone's collection is going to hit the open market at some point. -
MOC instructions being sold without permission
Gomek replied to Stormythos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for providing free instructions. The instructions I've found recently on sites like yours and on youtube have really increased my enjoyment of this hobby. -
I'm glad someone else feels the same about Atlantis. The fish figures were fantastic but the divers were all the same and so, so boring. Monster fighter was similar but I think the monster fighters were a bit more varied. I would have definitely appreciated something more 40s/50s inspired and less robo-arms/sci-fi inspired.

Large $250+ sets shouldn't include exclusive figures. Collecting custom minifigures is more fun and less frustrating than collecting official Lego minifigures

LEGO Store Build A Minifig Exclusive Parts
Gomek replied to joe38658's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
There have been a whole mess of exclusive pieces in Build a Minifigure. They had three new variants for Halloween (Vampire, Lady vampire, and Witch) and two for Christmas (Elf and Mrs Clause). There are 6 or 7 exclusive pieces floating around now (that shield, Dark blue wizard, recreation Baseball torso, cut off jeans, new mime head) not including anything that might have been left over from last year (turquoise garden hat, blue clown hair, aforementioned holiday pieces). -
DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Gomek replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Getting some golden age minifigures should not be a pipe dream and are over due IMHO. Unfortunately I stopped collecting comics well before the New 52 so that does nothing for me on the other hand. When I say I don't need another version of the regular characters, a Kingdom Come version is the exception. A while back someone floated a rumor that the SDCC exclusives might be Kingdom Come variants. I didn't think it was possible to hate SDCC exclusives and more than I do, but that certainly would have added some fuel to my disgust. -
DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Like many I'd be disappointed in much of this list. Far too many figures that I already have. Severally I just have way too many off. Edit: Any character who has had a series and no prior figure, should really be given priority here. I'd be interested in taking a look at a list of remaining characters without minifigs (maybe ordered by popularity). Personally I really need Dr. Fate, Deadman and the original Firestorm. I think the Samurai is the lone missing Super Friends character, and Saturn Girl from Legion, so would love to complete those collections as well. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Gomek replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I always wonder if Bricks and Pieces makes money for Lego, or if they operate it out of a courtesy. I know there are a bunch of people making a living on Bricklink, many who even have employees, so there has to be money in it. While bricks and pieces can't replace bricklink (because of retired pieces, and licensed stuff) Bricks and Pieces could put a major dent in my bricklink orders if it was just a little more user friendly. Again, not sure if that's their goal. -
I'm never one for purple. The lime and trans orange might work, but the ship is too white to really get a sense of that. Dark green is pretty cool, but it's hard to make out in the photo. Dark green and black always go together well.

With the amount of re-colored fig parts showing up in Build a Figure, my hope is that maybe we can get a color variation of the bounty hunter soon. (in fact, if it was up to me, Build a Figure would be nothing but color variations) ALSO.. just to add to the Blacktron conversation... I assume that everyone assumes BlackTron is "Bad" because they are clearly being arrested by the "Space Police" is some early sets. But who really gave these supposed "Space Police" the authority to arrest people?

Placed an order recently and it came a lot quick than previous orders. edit: US/east coast -
Star Wars at least put a fresh spin on the space knights concept, as well as the serial concept while not being heavy handed about it. I just think that there are a lot of things Lego could do with Castle and Space themes that don't involve an in-your-face mash-up. I'd even love a few small retro/50s space style sets (under $30) but that's also the type of thing I think Nexo Knights was blocking.
-
This. And while I'm not entirely sure the concept of 'Space Knights' was new when Stars Wars did it in the late 70s, I can 100% tell you Space Knights is a dead beaten horse 40 years later.

As someone who collects customs, and owns quite a few Christo figures, I will add a few comments. There are a VERY limited number of customizers who do Lego customs at or of a higher quality than Lego. It's a pretty short list: Citizen Brick, Christo, Onlinesailin, MuddyRivers. That's it (that I know of). Decals and UV printing are fine, but are not the same as the Pad Printing that Lego does. Pad Printing is not easy, else everyone would do it.These four have also mastered the Lego design esthetic, which a lot of other customizers really struggle with. Now that we have that out of the way, I fully agree with the sentiment that custom Lego figures are pieces of art. The thing is when we're talking about limited prints it's a very tricky thing to figure out the value. This is especially true when you don't know the 'supply' in the 'supply and demand' equation. I try to support Citizen Brick as much as I can because they are very reasonable IMHO. For the most part I feel like they try to meet demand and after that they retire figures (kind of how Lego USED to do it). Christo on the other hand plays this sort of odd game on Ebay only releasing a few figures a week to drive up maximum price and never retiring anything. I've personally been a little spoiled by Citizen Brick and $15 customs, so I really don't feel tempted to buy $100 figures. I also have zero faith that these figures won't be half the price once demand dies down. The very idea that I could spend $150 while the same figure could go on auction the next week for $60 is too risky with my budget. (I'm fairly confident you'll never see Citizen Brick figures at half price, unless someone doesn't know what they have) So that's it. ALSO.. The Chinese knock off companies are in the business of cheap toys at large quantities so they are not of interest to me. Technically though, there is nothing stopping them from seeing the light and printing on actual Lego. If this ever happens the game will change, and prices will change, so yes... a $100+ on a figure doesn't seem like a great idea.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Gomek replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
While we can't agree about how welcome monsters are (I love them) I was pleased to see you list several of series 14 as costume figures, which is what they were. Since I love monsters the inclusion of costumed figures in series 14 was a disappointment. Also, if we're counting Chase figures as 2 or less per box, I think you're missing a few (Scarecrow comes to mind), and I'm not sure Crash Dummy was at 2 per (my memory is bad, but I don't remember these being hard to find). AND, let's NEVER infer that there may be more chase figures. Chase figures are super obnoxious and should only be met and talked about with maximum disdain. My only ask here is that historical figures be fleshies, as per (recent?) Lego convention. This might be a weird thing to get stuck on, but I'm always annoyed looking at Abe Lincoln with a yellow head. George Washington (who wasn't officially called that) to a lesser extent. -
While maybe not "official" the Lego Movie video game has quite a few interesting builds in Cloud Cockoo land.
-
Honestly, I'd be thrilled if they just started sneaking a massive amount of new castle figures and new shields into Build a Minifigure. When I see new parts in BAM I buy them immediately no questions asked.
-
Like most, I think the renders are much better. Really looks like a different figure. Not sure I care for the face print. Oddly enough for as much as I dislike the Nexo knights theme, I did incorporate the black/neon-green Blacktron (but not really?) figures into my collection. So now a fifth of my blactron figures have white faces, which I kind of dig.

Considering the original trilogy are unfortunately still the best of the movies, I'd said this list is pretty close to they next ones I'd like to see. Perhaps the Obi, Vader and Yoda ghosts as well. Oh and I think there are still a couple x-wing pilots left to do as well. Always love an obscure pilot.
-
Funny how that works. I have a complete collection of Lone Ranger figures despite never having seen the movie.
-
Azog I believe had a different mouth printing. Honestly, if they can do the same with Barb (sightly different print), and have that slight variant released soon, it wouldn't reflect as poorly on Lego as it does currently.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Gomek replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was able to order almost all the Hiddenside minifigures last night EXCEPT the ghost heads. I imagine this is what most people want, but I'm just looking to display these guys with my town figures. -
I really wish there was more backlash against these things. There is really no reason these figures couldn't be 'preview' figure giveaways and released later.

Oh, I totally buy that Firestar were sold these as "employee gifts", so I don't think they are being dishonest either. Same, I'm sure, holds true for the Mexican dealer. One of the other things Firestar wrote me was something like - If we were able to prove these were genuine, they would be worth a lot more. - Which I also agree about. And also totally agree Lego customer service is not (and in some cases can't be) 100% informed. Heck, I've also had Lego store employees give me 100% false information on multiple occasions.
