  1. You know, I'm afraid that the frame will just get too bulky if I add knee and elbow articulation Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback! Thanks, that's how I feel. I like the skinny, joints would just make them too thick bodied.
  2. True, but at this small scale that kind of articulation isn't necessary. Thanks!
  3. Hello All! A few droids that I whipped up the other day. Let me know what you think. Added some wings to one of the droidz Thanks, rongYIREN
  4. Actually I have an LDD file already but as I was building this with bricks I noticed a few spots that new revising, so I'll need to fix those few areas before I upload the file. Thanks everyone! This guy's jaw is based off Grimlock's from the Animated series. I liked how it made him look tough but goofy at the same time. Thanks. I had to go check the MOC to see if there were any exposed studs but I found none. I like your idea for a close up pic of the minifig's face with the dino coming into the frame. I'll have to get a shot of that when I break out the lightbox kit again.
  5. Hello all! The latest MOC is of a mecha T-Rex catching a minifig by surprise. Any critiques are welcome! Thanks for taking a look. rongYIREN
  6. Slick looking war machine! I like the new bumper and the rotating weapons. Too bad you won't be building it. LDD never does a model any justice. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Oh, while I'm here I can post an update to my Dino Mech from a few weeks back. Finally built it with real bricks. Still a WIP so I take any comments if you've got them. Thanks, rongYIREN
  7. Wow, this is a nice build. and I think the bumpers look great. As for the guns, I think that they're a decent size but I wonder what they would look like sitting on a rotating base...
  8. Hey, thanks a lot guys! You know, the whole build started when I decided to add some legs to the turbo fan. So from the beginning I wanted something machine-like - the turbo fan really helps to push that look. thanks for the feedback!
  9. Thanks guys for all the feedback, I appreciate it! I'm happy that you enjoy the MOC.
  10. Nice! A pretty sleek build - really like the canards.
  11. Thank you very much! I am very glad that you enjoy them.
  12. Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback. I'll probably make more Galaxy Squad MOCs sometime in the future, it's a fun theme to work with.
  13. Hey All! I've put together a little Insectoid fighter that should help boost their fighting capabilities against the Galaxy Squad. Critiques welcome! (The landing gear fold down) (Wallpaper 1366 x 726) Thanks for taking a look! rongYIREN
  14. Hey, thanks for the feedback. I'll mess around with it some more in LDD.As for your lab, I think that it is coming along great. The addition of the floor tiles, especially the drains is nice. And the tanks look better on the floor with the valve closer to minifig hands.
  15. I am somewhat of a newbie with LDD. I did briefly mess around with it when it first came out a few years ago but just recently started up again. I am finding that it is useful for figuring out a build. I'm not so sure that I'll build this one but I am considering to build a newer LDD MOC that I just posted to the WIP thread. Although handy, I still prefer building the MOCs the old fashioned way - by hand.
  16. Hey guys, Working with an LDD file this time... For this MOC it's a Mecha Dino. I guess the only comment that I'd like to add at this point is that the lower jaw is modeled a bit after the Grimlock character from the recent animated Transformers show. UPDATE! Longer tail to balance the head. Added "spines" along the back. Also added a few greebles to give it a more mecha look. Thanks, rongYIREN
  17. Wow, indeed it does, never saw that before. The legs are exactly the same, good bug legs though.
  18. Hey All, This build is still a WIP but I like where it is at right now so I thought I'd let everyone take a look. It is a Dune Taxi modeled after a beetle. I was initially inspired by this image. Let me know what you think. Thanks! rongYIREN
  19. Hey Thanks! You guys were quite helpful over in the WIP thread - thanks a lot!It is top heavy so the poses for the bird are limited. I guess making the feet a bit larger could alleviate that problem a bit but I think it'll always be top heavy due to its basic design.
  20. Hmm, do you mean antennas as feathers or something different? Yeah, that is one of my concerns now - how to get a minifig into the MOC. Often times before in my builds minifigs were never a consideration. Thanks, I grew up with Zoids so they definitely have a big influence on a lot of my MOCs Hey, thanks a lot you guys, I really appreciate your feedback!
  21. Hello All! I put together a little Terror Bird Mecha... Some artistic Illustrations of Terror Birds - Pic One, Pic Two, Pic Three. Thanks for taking a look! And thanks to everyone who offered up their advice when this was a WIP rongYIREN
  22. Thanks for the comments guys, About the wings, the first ones were just way too big for this kind of bird. And as you can see in the new pic I completely got rid of those Chima wings altogether. As for combining the Chima wings with the curved slopes, I just don't think it would transition well between the two very different shapes. Maybe on a much larger scale it could work to better effect but not with such small wings and I have decided to keep the wings small. With the larger wings it seems as though it was moving more towards a phoenix rather than a Terror Bird. I do really appreciate your feedback. Even though I may not have used your ideas they did help me move in a direction that I am much happier with. Thanks! I did change up the design a bit more and gave it an "engine" to make it look like it can actually do some running. Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated.
  23. Ha ha, OK, the butt cannon is gone. Thanks for the idea on the wings and tail. I actually do not have but a few of the "feather" pieces so I was not able to try out your technique. I did, however, go in a similar direction using curved slopes as you can see in the revised entry above.
  24. Hey thanks for the feedback... As for the wings, the Terror Birds actually have wings much smaller than depicted here on the MOC. Think of how the T-Rex has those tiny almost useless arms and then you'll understand what kind of wings the Terror Bird has. A few pics of Terror birds here and here. Currently, I am making the wings smaller and trying to use these curved slopes as feathers. However, with the wing arm being so small and still needing to bend at the elbow, it's difficult to get the feathers to look properly when the arm does bend. I will beef up his calves a little but not too much - they need to stay slimmest part of the leg. what do you think of the cannon in the tail? I am thinking of doing away with it. Anyway, thanks a lot for your feedback - I appreciate it.
  25. Hey guys! WIP here - (please ignore the colors as I only used the bricks handiest to me while putting this together.) Will work on colors later after a Bricklink order. I am working on this Terror Bird mech but I am having a bit of trouble with the build, especially the wings (I am thinking about reducing their size) If you don't mind, could any of you offer up any suggestions for better looking wings? Or suggestions for anything else you might think needs addressing... Any one like the idea of the cannon in the tail section? Thanks! rongYIREN I posted the final MOC over in the Terror Bird Mech thread Thanks for all of your help guys! I really appreciate it!
