Awesome! My favourite part is the ski jump, it is just magnificent. I also love the brick built pine trees and the log cabin at the top of the mountain. Santa and his reindeer is a nice touch, too.

I would really appreciate that, as it's the best I have seen.

This is beautiful! The water effect and the base are superb.

It is one of my favourite New Mannum buildings as it is. The only change I would consider is reducing the height of the green roof part by one stud, as it is quite high compared to the rest of the buildings. I also like the vehicles you've been adding and the cement mixer looks awesome.

Welcome to Eurobricks. I don't have a city layout myself, but have seen larger ones that flow really well from CBD (using the big modulars) to suburbs (using the Creator houses) to beach or rural (using City or Creator sets). In my opinion, these work really well. Some of them are quite stunning, actually. You can see some examples right here on Eurobricks. Just go to the Town forum, and then the LEGO Town Main Street, which is one of the pinned topics. In there, under "MOCs", is a link to layouts that have been posted here. You can also find a lot of examples on brickshelf and flickr.

I love the look of this and agree that you have done an awesome job here, but it messes with my head every time I look at it.

Thanks, Harton. I hadn't seen that yet. That's so cool!

I have taken the BrickLink route for those modulars that were discontinued while I was in the dark age. I haven't actually kept track of much I have spent (that way I don't have to lie if the husband asks), but I would hope it is less than buying the whole sets. I try to keep the cost down by not buying the instructions or box and I have substituted moulds and colours for those parts that are very expensive. For example, I use dark bluish grey for the 2x8 arches, 1x2x3 windows (instead of the panels) and a black roof in my version of the cafe corner. The missing pieces are still on a wanted list (the one I call "Nice to have", as opposed to "Must-haves") and I may buy them over time.

Another excellent chapter! Love your interpretation of the dwarves.

Did the post office just get smaller? Still looks good though. I really like the colour combination and the way you have done the trim on the walls on this one. The Holden dealer also looks fantastic. I'm pretending those dirt bikes are v8 utes.

On the "MyBricklink" page, there is a section in the middle, towards the bottom, with a list under the heading of "MyBrickLink". One of those is "My Personal Info". That's where you can change your password.

[MOC] Bonsai Bust Up: Ultimate Battle
Kristel replied to Praiter Yed's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is awesome. I love how you have made the pot as the base - great idea! It really looks like the whole thing is happening around a bonsai. I also like how you have suspended the ninja. -
I can definitely relate to this. Great build all round, but I really like the table and lamp. The expression in Level 4 is perfect. It looks like he's had a few too many "No-Doze" pills.

Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate the comments. You can just imagine what he is thinking right now, being forced to pose with the cutesy comb like that. I love the Friends line for the colours and the accessories, but these accessories packs in more mainstream styles and colours would be perfect. It's the mirror from the Friend Beauty Shop set (a 4x4 tile with studs on edge and sticker), attached to the wall with a 1x4 brick with studs on the side. There is a row of dark red plates between the bricks in the wall to give it the right height to sit flush with the top of the bench.

Ultimate Battle: Fight in the Caves!
Kristel replied to Kai NRG's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is great. Nice rock work and great posing of the minifigs. Well done. -
This is great. I think some might argue though that fighting Darth Vader is the fun part and watching TV is the boring part. I agree, Darth Vader will win this battle.

Everything is better with Ninja - Cleaning the Stairs
Kristel replied to Garmadon's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great idea and nicely executed. Well done! -
First place, yeah! I'm stoked, as there were some awesome entries. Thanks everyone who participated and thanks to Hinckley and the EB team for organising this and keeping us sane (via flickr) when EB went down.

Better building instructions than LDD ?
Kristel replied to MarkusOSX's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi Markus, I find it quite easy now. There was a bit of a learning curve to start with, particularly for understanding how settings affected the output. I use it quite regularly now so that I can keep a record of my MOCs, as these tend to get dismantled soon after they are made due to a lack of space for displaying them. The files are quite large and I am not sure how to share them online. However, I can send you a couples of pages from one I've done via email if you want to PM me. Cheers, Kristel Edit: The PDF created by LPUB is quite large, but the Brickmsith and LPub files themselves are typically less than 100kb. -
Better building instructions than LDD ?
Kristel replied to MarkusOSX's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have found LPub to be very good, but I use Bricksmith to build the models (not LDD). Not quite the answer to your question, but worth checking out Bricksmith if you're open to changing the design program you use. It's as easy to use as LDD, you just need to watch your part / colour combinations if you intend to build a model in real life. -
First things first: hello there!
Kristel replied to The Heartbrick Kid's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks. You've definitely come to the right place for inspiration, there are so many amazing builders and their MOCs here. I look forward to seeing yours in the future. -
I'm confused. I just read this topic from the start, watching the Bolt dealership transform over time and then the last post is back to one level. I like this version though, as it has lots of glass to show off the cars inside. I thought the 3 level version was moving away from car dealership to look more like a police station. I love that red car from a few posts back.
