  1. I'm not that excited, sadly. I need to see better pictures, yet only a few figures spark my interest. Looks like a very mediocre series to me.
  2. How about starting a poll? Not only I wonder if other people feel the same, it would also point a direction to this now quite meaningless thread. Yet I insist I'm right. Have you ever heard a case of someone doing something violent and being inspired and ifluenced by playing with a toy gun or soldier figures? It's the same as the never-ending argument whether videogames inspired people who have done something wrong, and if they lead now innocent youngsters into doing so in the future. I have always found this ridiculous and switching games for military toys is even more wicked. You nailed it, I don't feel guilty. Why should I? For saying what I think?
  3. I said we are not living there so you can't expect to see child friendly MOCs only. AFOLs won't build Duplo banana. Simple as that. What is a fact? What am I "hiding behind the wall of opinion"? I don't understand you right now and I'm starting to feel like you are turning me into a war lobbyist or something. I wasn't offended by "mere logic". I was offended by YOU saying something about something I hadn't said and dismissing my peace suggestion. I am not getting the part with the two facts so I'm gonna pass it. You are slowly turning this into a first world problem. However, I must react to the last paragraph. 1) Yes, military toys are innocent. Feel free to be offended, this is a fact, though. 2) I'm not aware of offending you purposely. Yes, last few post I might not reacted gently, but I have reacted adequately and similarly to you.
  4. I made an offer to stop this pointless argument. I said I respected your opinion and tried to clarify mine once again. And what did you do? You said you didn't share my opinion. Was it something I said? Did I say: "I have this point of view and you will too, this is a command."? No. Yet you attacked mine opinion and said I claimed it as a fact. And then you attacked my logic. Now I feel offended. I have had enough. I won't write another long post which you will later dismiss. I'm quite a busy person and I'd like to go to bed, so I'll just explain my so-called flawed logic quickly. Read carefully. TLG is a toy company. Toys are for kids. Therefore, TLG carefully chooses what to produce. They set up some policies. One of them is to not produce war and army related sets. No tanks, no soldiers, nothing. However, they do have the conflict in their sets. And that's understandable. But it means fighting. And this often includes vehicles, figures and guns which strongly resemble war elements. Conclusion: they are hypocrites. Yes to the sci-fi and fantasy war with realistic guns and vehicles, no to the realistic yet innocent army theme.
  5. Yes, I realised that later. Quite a shame. Sure, I'm well aware of that, I meant a real piece.
  6. I went to check Scratchy's tail and he really has one! And it's a new piece indeed, wow! With this piece, LEGO has crossed another boundary - putting pieces between torso and legs. Hopefully they will widely spread this technique into other themes as well, as the current tail piece which attaches with a clip to the neck is really dumb and useless.
  7. "Man yells at cloud" Grampa was getting his driver license and the Bouviers asked him to stay still so they could take a photo, the only thing left to finish his license. He asked them if they could use a photo of him from the local newspaper instead. Then he showed the article, and when they agreed, he looked of the window and yelled and the cloud: "Who's the winner now?" Biclops Comic Book Guy had a heart attack and had to stay in a hospital. Bart and Milhouse saved him and although he had had some hassle with them, he asked them to take care of his business. As he was more capable of doing this, Bart was in charge of the shop and Milhouse, as always, was his lackey. One day, when Bart left, Milhouse was approached by a salesman who offered him a comic with a brand new superhero called Biclops. Milhouse, when he saw the hero wore glasses, agreed and bought several thousands copies. Bart was very upset because it turned out the comic was published by an optic and it was a colossal flop. I asked a few weeks ago, yet no one replied. Do you think there will be some special stands? Printed, possibly?
  8. Itaria, let's make a deal and stop this. We are just trying to outsmart each other and we both know even if one succeeds, the other won't accept it. Just bear in mind I don't judge you. Feel free to being offended by army MOCs, you may have a special relation or experience to this theme I don't. I find them to be perfectly normal. However, I think you still don't get what I mean, so I'm gonna quote Super Goblin because his point is perfect: If they refuse to make just a basic army theme (although they surely know it would sell like hot cakes), then they should also stop producing lines based on conflict and dealing directly with it, i. e. stop putting soldiers and warfare gear in sets. Otherwise, they are hypocrites.
  9. Oh my god. Yes! Finally! I was getting more and more anxious, I came every day to see if they finally appeared and left disappointed. I love them. The figures are great and the lack of new accessories is compensated with creativity - "Old man yells at cloud", Biclops, Blinky, Bobo, Squishee, I choo-choo-choose you. May can't come faster. Best. Series. Ever. :3 To see the minifigures in all of their glory, go check out LEGO's Facebook album.
  10. You are getting nitpicky again. You know what? Actually, cows kills more people annually than sharks do. I thought you might use this against me and I wasn't wrong. However, sharks DO intent to kill, so you may take the hypothetical scenario of the shark MOC as lightening the situation. But that's enough. I find absolutely nothing wrong on making military MOCs. If you think Lego as a toy should only be used to build stuff that's apropriate for children, you're being really hypocritical. You must find offensive not only military stuff, but also zombies, those shooting brickfilms and much more, then. We are not in Cloud Cuckoo Land, little people build child friendly MOCs.
  11. We have each our own oppinion and that's perfectly fine. Let's respect it. However, I think you might be getting too sensitive. There's nothing wrong about basic army stuff on toy market. Kids love conflict and TLG knows that. If they switched ninjas and obscure animal warriors for soldiers, it would have no impact whatsoever. For Christ's sake, there even wouldn't be an enemy, just a line of vehicles and a few soldiers would be enough! About your failure of understanding thoughts behind army MOCs: let people build what they like and are interested in. Using your logic, I would have to feel offended by a MOC of a white shark: how could someone build such a beast which killed so many people?
  12. Sure it would. There's a difference between depicting real events and making regular army toys which you can find in every toy store. If TLG made, say, a set consisting of a German tank with a bunch of Nazis included, it would cause a lot of controversy. Many people would say they find them interesting, they support them and not the states which won. Or even worse, they would accuse them for promoting (neo)nacism. However, if they made some regular sets with basic green vehicles and soldiers, without insignias and any sign of possible historical or temporary army affiliation, it would be pretty normal and popular. They could test these waters with expanding the City police line. Last year, we had a special unit/commando, now they could make military police to approach this section of the market to see what the reactions would be. In my opinion, excluding such theme is a shame.
  13. Legofreak: No way! I am an amateur filmmaker, too, and I hope I will study it when I finish my high school in a year. I would love to see your videos, so do not hesistate to brag a little and shoot me a PM. I agree with you, sans the point of Hulk being in a cheaper set this time - they are both 50$. They should start putting bigfigs in more affordable sets, about 30$. I wanted Hulk Helicarrier Escape so much, but the set is really dumb and Hulk alone is not worth enough to drop ~80$ on it (you know, Europe). Also, not including Bruce Banner was such a missed oppurtunity. I'm crossing my fingers the sets for the second film will fix this flaw.
  14. Nice, can I see your design works somewhere? I too am a fantasy-driven person, so I often think about what sets and minifigures I would like to see, and sometimes I have so complex ideas that it's actually disappointing to not see them being made. Maybe I should try to make custom decals and prints as you do. What exactly do you use a gained knowledge from your studies for? Drawing, painting, filming? I see we made it into the point where we come wih our ideas for the sets. LegoFan, that's a nice list! For TWS, I would like to see: Showdown in Downtown - 30 dollars S.H.I.E.L.D. jeep, a motorbike, an enemy truck Steve Rogers in civil clothes, Nick Fury with trenchcoat, Winter Soldier, Soldier's sidekick Basically the scene from the trailer where Winter Soldiers blows up the jeep. There would be some cool mechanism to make this happen. Battle for Washington - 50 dollars Small jet, a building Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon with wings, Winter Soldier, Coulson A segment from the climax scene. I don't have many ideas and I would have to see the film first, so the minifigures only: Steve Rogers, Captain America in new suit, Black Widow civil/uniform (they could give her proper hair, the one from CMF S9 and 11 is just great, but now she's got longer haircut), Nick Fury with trenchcoat, Winter Soldier (two variants), Falcon, Crossbones, Agent 13, some other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents (I forgot the names), Maria Hill, Coulson? (do we know if he will appear in TWS?) and some WS minions. Would be a helluva wave!
  15. I don't want to argue with you again, I really don't, but the army wasn't the evil in Man of Steel movie. Zod and his gang were. The army tried to capture Superman at first because he was basically one of the attackers. If hostile aliens attack the Earth and you find out there's one super-dangerous and has been there all along, sure you want to catch him. After he proved himself to be on the side of the people, they let him go. I think LEGO allows military elements in spite of the story, not only if they are considered villains. And there even wasn't much in MoS sets: only a jeep and Colonel Hardy, that's it. Since the discussion's is getting hot (no wonder), I have a suggestion. TLG won't produce WWII sets for sure, this topic is still too sensitive. So how about further discuss the possibility of LEGO making a basic, non-specified military theme. Would you mind, SheepEater?
  16. I too wonder if LEGO will continue the trend of making only one MCU movie sets per year and if they ever made an official statement. Looks like an unwritten rule to me. If so, we will surely get Avengers 2 sets next year. Ant-Man will be missed, but Age of Ultron will surely provide many great figs. Hopefully, we will not only get new characters (Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Ultron) and variants of old ones (Hulkbuster! ), but also those not included in the line for the first film: Coulson, Fury, Maria Hill and Bruce Banner. And possibly Falcon from TWS. Legofreak, your posts always make me excited! Let's hope the actual sets will be at least half as awesome as these suggestions of yours.
  17. Having seen Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade yesterday, I'm really sad they didn't release the tank scene as a set. It would be extremely popular and it was this line what proved that if it is neccessary, LEGO doesn't mind making a war-related sets, even the WWII and Nazis. I'm not saying they should start making sets based on World Wars and such (I mean war conflicts from the 20th century, we are discussing tanks and cars and planes, not cavalry and Indians after all), but a basic military theme would make a justice. When I was much younger, I got a few Brick sets, which is a clone brand, only because they were military themed. And they were really nice. Even our local construction toy Cheva (google it, it's a great toy, similar to Lego, but not a rip-off, the system is different) had a military theme with a wide range of tanks and vehicles and I dare to say it must be one of the most popular themes. If LEGO dropped their fears and principles, they would have a well-selling, succesful theme.
  18. I completely agree with you and I'm glad we have a thread to discuss this. In Marvel line, they should focus on the movies and comics and ommit the cartoons. They should base sets on both MCU movies each year (or others, if they have right - yes, I'm looking at ASM2 - Disney has rights for the merchandise, LEGO has a deal with Disney, result: LEGO makes sets based on USM) and comics, if there's some space left. So far, they have released sets for one of the two film only each year, and I'm afraid we might not get Ant-Man next year. It has been stated many times and some of you may disagree, but excluding TDW and TWS from their production was a really bad move. Second Thor film was absolutely stunning looks-wise and could provide some great sets and figures. Except many brand new ones (Odin, Frigga, Warriors Three, Sif, Malekith, Kurse, Dark Elves...), it was a great oppurtunity to improve Thor and Loki. I find the current Loki extremely lackluster and I was really looking forward to the TWD sets to fix this up. He could get proper hair, face and better clothes. Now he looks like Bruce Wayne in weird pyjamas and horned helmet. Same goes for TWS: the more I see from the movie, the better it looks. Cool scenes, great vehicles, fantastic characters. All missed in spite of two cartoon sets - Hydra tank is laughing to our faces: Yes, we could make Captain America sets, and we actually did! The other is the same as the one from 2012. Regarding DC, I'm not a fan really, so I don't mind, but the sets are mediocre as well. They oversaturated the subtheme with Batman. They should lower the number of Bat sets and make them more realistic. Enough silly and ridiculous vehicles. And of course, there are more than one DC characters.
  19. I ended it, this was all I had to say. If someone has a problem with it and can't get over it, by the time the 14th series comes out (and I don't care if it is the "regular" 13th series, a MMO series or a line consisting of American presidents), you may negotiate a deal with double-naming, because there are people who are used to the old nomenclature. And this situation will surely repeat. And if Rick says I can't change the title myself, our talk is really over.
  20. No, I'm not gonna change it. At least now. Everyone knows what's the topic about and this is just nitpicking. If you want to blame someone, blame TLG - they released a special "non-canon" series in the main line after eleven regular ones, unlike the Team GB, which was a limited side series. And in a few weeks, they will have released another curious series, even licensed this time, and again as a part of the regular CMF line. Yes, it's confusing and possibly annoying, but so is the never-ending arguing, complaining, moaning and ranting whether TLM series is the twelfth series and The Simpsons series the thirteenth. As for the results of our guessing game, I'll wait for the pictures to finally surface and then I will post results.
  21. Thank you! Will look forward to the review.
  22. @HomerJSimpson: Did you write to WhiteFang? Has he replied already?
  23. I dare to say a DC wave and more Batman. It looks like a standard, unlike the Marvel sets - these come in a few waves and divided into spring and summer.
  24. Well, I guess the list is true since it's on Amazon and it looks like a real deal, not only some preliminary info. Also, in stock April 21, that's ten days prior to the official launch date, so we may see pictures really soon, as well as White Fang's review (maybe he will unveil them like he did with TLM series) - has anyone tried to contact him if he's got any news? I'm too surprised to see there isn't Moe on the list. I think he might have been too controversial for LEGO to put him there, so they picked up another character instead, and they surely had many to choose from. I don't understand people ranting over Skinner not being included, I think he's not the most important supporting character. Truth be told, I don't find Itchy and Scratchy that much interesting, too. They aren't even real characters and occupy two spots which could have been used better. I would love to see Willie. Do you think there will be some special display stands, possibly printed?
  25. I actually like the Iron Man 3 sets, even the Flame lawnmover/golf cart. After building them, I had to admit they are quite nice builds, despite having a little in common with their movie counterparts. Would I prefer proper sets based on some of the many awesome scenes from the film? Sure. But since we got all the important minifigs, even Iron Patriot, I'm fine with them, and as I've said, they are not the bad after all. The boat is very good-looking when seen in person, incredibly sleek with some clever design, the cart is not bad at all and the mansion is the best of the bunch, So, my least favourite sets must be... The Spider-Trike. This is the peak of stupidity of Spider-Man sets. I really want Electro, but I'm not gonna dump about 16 dollars for an awful ridiculous useless vehicle and ugly childish Spider-Man. When I compare this version to the one from 2004, I'm still shaking my head in disbelief. I would expect them to make such a crappy variant back in these times, not today. Oh my god, he's got plain blue pants! When it comes to DC, this is harder. There are many sets I don't really like. The worst is probably Metropolis Showdown, although if you take off the figures, Black Zero Escapes is a really ugly set as well.
