Love it. I'd convert it into an Egyptian restaurant and add it to my city.

Personally I find these designs to be ugly as heck, but maybe that's just me.

*Small toy shop rant* I don't know how small toy shops are where you live, but here in Montreal they all ******* suck. They almost never have a good Lego selection, it's always the recent sets (so NO HOPE ever of finding an old, rarer gem), and the prices are always high. No wonder TRU can get away with their prices. I saw one on Monday selling Helm's Deep for $190. That's $10 more than toysrus.ca, and $20 more than S@H canada. When I told the shopkeeper I got mine for $80 her eyes almost got out of the sockets. The more I'm knowledgeable about Lego prices in general, the more I'm letdown by mom&pop stores... As much as TRU has a bad rap, they're the only toy store worth buying from in person in Montreal, if only when they have a 20% sale off a whole Lego line like City or Technic (which makes it really a %10 sale when taking the TRU tax into account) Other than that, Walmart is OK, I guess, when they have what I want. But they're a huge corporation. I'd love to give my support to smaller mom&pop stores to keep them in business, but darn it, either lower your prices, or offer something larger chain stores don't! (ie older, rarer sets, or misc. parts pack like motors/lights/battery boxes/baseplates). Can't wait to move to Quebec City. There's a toy store there called Benjo, and it rocks. They have all the TRU stuff, and they sell model trains and RC stuff for adults too. *** rant over ***

LOTR Project: The Return of the King
SheepEater replied to Nuju Metru's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Love your Minas Tirith! Very much in line with what Lego would produce - though I would wish for something bigger. How many pieces does yours have? You obviously took a cue from their own Helm's Deep in the scale, and wall construction. -
I'm crossing my fingers the song "I am the law" from Anthrax, (from their best album, 1987's Among the Living) will make it into the movie soundtrack this time.

The LEGO Wheelchair
SheepEater replied to Burf2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Amazing MOC. First time I actually see a human move on a 100% lego built vehicle. I can't help but feel sorry for those parts, though... they must be under tremendous strain. -
This is a cut-n-paste from Falconer's post from the LOTR topic on the 'Historical' (*chuckle*) forum... Makes sense. I only disagree about the possibility of a romance involving Tauriel.

Makes sense. I only disagree about the possibility of a romance involving Tauriel. BTW we should probably be discussing this in the proper topic in the Culture & Multimedia forum.

Today the mailman brought me my 2nd ever non-LOTR castle set! (the 1st being 3739 Blacksmith Shop, bought 10 years ago when it came out)

Which Hobbit set are you most looking forward to?
SheepEater replied to Ferrik's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I suspect "The Orc King" set will feature identical orcs than the ones from the Mines of Moria set. (Except from the actual King, of course. BTW In the book he is referred to as the Great Goblin.) -
Yeah, that's positive news (as far as Lego is concerned). But only as long as the toys sell well enough, though! from theonering.net In a note posted to Facebook this morning (in the U.S.) Peter Jackson confirmed there will be a third film in the “Hobbit” series: So, without further ado and on behalf of New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Wingnut Films, and the entire cast and crew of “The Hobbit” films, I’d like to announce that two films will become three. TheOneRing.net has confirmed with two independent sources that the third “Hobbit,” film will not follow the schedule of traditional December releases for Middle-earth movies and will hit audiences in Summer of 2014. TORn has also learned that this newly announced film will not serve as a bridge film but continue to tell the story of “The Hobbit,” in three parts. It is believed that the breaking points of the first film has changed. That film, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” will be released in theaters this December 14. The next film, announced as “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” is expected to keep its December 13, 2013 schedule. Its name may change however. The newly announced film, as yet untitled, will follow months later in the summer months of 2014.

Not Technic, but the City one from 5 years ago is pretty neat. It uses a tiny Technic mechanism to turn the drum, which itself is 2-part and molded so that "cement" (1x1 studs ) fall out. Would be interesting how LEGO does that subject in full scale technic. Those drums would be tricky to do without a new mold.

Did you try to get them on eBay or Bricklink?
-
Man... that one is such a friggin BEAST. *oh2* Absolutely love the tilting front wheels, like the real thing. Everyone, make sure to click on the photo-link to see more pics. Yeah, I have seen it, a lot of very cool graders, one of them made it 80s style Unfortunately, the contest limited the amount of parts to 600 - I want at least 800 in an official model.

Let's share our funny interesting photos!

Am I allowed to link stuff from the brick testament? a.k.a. the brick bible -
I always found it's best to be patient with games. Not only are they more than half cheaper after less than a year, but many times some bugs have been found and fixed, so you're getting a better, updated version.
-
And where have you seen it? Are you part of Peter Jackson's close group of friends and associates?
-
I think the most likely figures to become weirball exclusives/giveways etc are: - Coronation Aragorn (we're unlikely to get a Coronation scene) - Old Bilbo (we're very unlikely to get a Bilbo's Birthday Party set now) - Sauron large figure (he only appears in a flashback) Arwen is excluded because she'll probably be included if any kind of Rivendell set gets made Galadriel, same; if she isn't in any LOTR set then she will appear in a Hobbit set.

Orc King, because it will probably be the flagship set. I think it would be a bit unfair to vote for Bag End since we already know how gorgeous it looks. -
I'm not pre-ordering anything unless I am guaranteed to get a minifig. It has to be advertised; that way if I don't get it I have a recourse.

Remember the guy who had his Lego van stolen?
SheepEater replied to SheepEater's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It might have been a pick up truck. Well, glad he found it at least. So the thief ended up not stealing any Lego? -
Anyone remembers the Bricklink member from a few years ago who had his mini-van stolen, which was full of Lego models taken off from an exposition? Anyone knows what happened to him? Did he find the thieves?
