Not so much xenomorph-like as much as hagfish-like, in that it tied itself into a knot.

Does that spider on the island look like it has a skull or scarab for an abdomen? It's also too bad that Misfortune's Keep lost the last little bit of that skull aesthetic it had in the prelims. Although Lloyd having black Galaxy Patrol armor is nice.

Yup, that's one adorable dragon. Still don't care about the bike set, but I noticed that the flyer in Jay's dragon includes white pirate skull swords. Also, the shooter is on the dragon's wings, near the base. EDIT: Good god is that image on the right side of the back of the box adorable. It's like a fusion of a puppy and a bull.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DraikNova replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Yeah, that was fun. Shenanigans are more fun than repeated "kick the enemies in the face, fail to kick the enemies in the face hard enough, find McGuffin that allows you to kick them hard enough, find plot-important McGuffin", which gets old after a while.- 4,591 replies

Which ninjago set to choose!
DraikNova replied to CaptainJackBrickster's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Dragons are one of the defining features of Ninjago. Either Morro's dragon or Wu's dragon are good sets. Mechs are another common feature, and Titan Mech Battle is one of the best, especially in terms of parts-price ratio. -
Akida looks pretty good for a pseudotechnic set, and that stand is nice. I really hope that Gali's review includes a picture where the two are combined, but using the blue and silver mask rather than the gold and tr. blue.

Yeah, I have to agree with dviddy on that one. Pretty atrocious looking. -
I think his look could actually work if they replaced the orange with more tr. red. The orange just doesn't fit with the rest of his color scheme, especially with the blade pieces being right next to tr. red and tr. yellow flame pieces.

Original Bionicle vs CCBS discussion
DraikNova replied to MakutaOfWar's topic in LEGO Action Figures
1: There are pieces with cups on both sides, but currently only in two sizes. Sadly, LEGO seems intent on mostly making humanoid builds with CCBS, which reduces the chances of them using this kind of pieces and as a result, them making more variants. 2: Star Wars' General Grievous makes good use of a large variety of CCBS parts, and is pretty much the only really large CCBS build we've had so far. Definitely worth picking up. 3: Bricklink stores all it's CCBS parts under "Hero Factory". 4: I think there's an overview picture of how CCBS was conceptualized somewhere, but I can't find the designer's blog which I remember it being on. 5: Yes, especially in the original version (the 2015 lineup is a reboot), but eventually the storyline got so bloated that new fans had difficulty understanding it, which was what led to BIONICLE's failure. -

If you're Russian, why is your country marked "Belgium"? -
Yay! Printed shields. I really hope we get some unprinted versions of the tr. orange shields, though. That'd be perfect for MOCs.

When I'll mod my Onua, I'm going to see whether I can implement that axle that connects through the creature idea that was mentioned earlier as a way to allow the Toa to keep their gear functions while connected.

I'm not sure you could mark one point as the downfall. It was more of a gradual process, and a lot of the increasing overtexturedness was accompanied by improvements in, say, the articulation. I'd say that around the time of the Mahri or the Phantoka the improvements had kind of run out. -

Sure, you can have a different opinion. But if you use bad arguments to try and explain it, don't be surprised if people are amused at your arguments. -

I'm not sure how ball joints are supposed to be harder to work with than technic pins. You get a lot more angles to connect things at with balljoints, which gives you way more ways to make interconnections than with technic pins. -

No it can't, not if LEGO has to waste money on new molds. If you need help with understanding this issue, I've got a comic to illustrate it for you ready. Both of these are quite untrue. LEGO has been using CCBS in lots of sets compared to the pitiful two-three uses a year that BIONICLE had. In some cases, the parts aren't even used for articulation. -

Original Bionicle vs CCBS discussion
DraikNova replied to MakutaOfWar's topic in LEGO Action Figures
So you want parts to be non-reusable, have LEGO waste money on new molds constantly and as a result give us smaller sets with less useful parts? And while I agree that Neo Shifters was a pretty cool concept (for those who haven't heard of them, think Transformers/Bohrak mashup), I don't think comparing LEGO to Megabloks is a going to win you too many fans around here. -

Why do people think this? And can we please not restart the CCBS versus 1.0 BIONICLE argument? It gets kind of repetitive. -

I also wouldn't be surprised if we got a janitor-bot.

My ranking for the creatures is: Terak (generally good integration of technic with CCBS, nice colors) > Uxar (Seems reasonably good in terms of technic-CCBS combo, slightly less good colors) > Akida (Good Technic set, with nice colors) > Akida (boring red and gold colorscheme, otherwise reasonably good) > Melum (Downgraded Terak with different function and more boring colors) > Ketar (good colors, horrible integration of technic with CCBS).
