  1. Okay, I'm working on making a version of this that reflects her Ultimate form, but with a little more of a beetle-like appearance to match her main nexo power in said set. Turns out it's really difficult to make elytra in LEGO form, although bat wings and beetle wings are, in fact, remarkably similar looking.
  2. Ooh, I didn't even know there were 20 episodes. I'm really loving this series, so I'd be very dissapointed if we would only see the monster generals in the episode where Jestro finds the corresponding book.
  3. Thanks for the picture! Really hoping we get the queen in the set now. I think the Chima hammer piece would work well.
  4. What do you guys think would be more appropriate as a flying mecha-mount for Aaron? A modified version of the enfield (basically a fox-based griffon-like creature found in some bestiaries) with dragonfly aspects replacing the eagle elements (to keep it distinct from the griffin I'm making for Clay, because Aaron apparently likes "creepy-crawlies" and because I figure dragonflies are basically arthropod eagles) or a completely new creature, in the style of typical bestiary mish-mash stuff, in this case using the statement from one medieval manuscript that foxes can only walk in winding and circular paths to combine them with swimming crabs?
  5. The Toa Mata and Toa Nuva (and their associated villains) had very little posability. Understandable as they were some of the first, but pretty bad by today's standards. The Toa Metru were pretty good in terms of proportions and posability, but were abandoned after one wave for the Hordika/proto-inika build, which was flat and had odd proportions. Excusable in the case of the Hordika, since they were meant to look warped, but still an odd design choice. The Inika build, meanwhile, featured generally freakish proportions, with shoulders almost as wide as the body was long. Meanwhile, titans were the only ones which diverged seriously from this look, but they did so by using pieces not used at all in smaller sets, meaning that you couldn't build a titan-like MOC using just the pieces from normal sets. In general, sets were lower quality, with the villains being slightly more interesting than the toa. And I'm glad it's that way, since it means LEGO is improving, at least in the long term.
  6. Minibricks, da movie!
  7. Episode 6 hasn't aired officially, as far as I can tell. It was released on itunes, but it can't be found anywhere else it seems. Apparently the new episodes will air in March.
  8. I assume the form xbostravis is referring to is the form his adaptive armor took when he got onto the Rockoh T3.
  9. G1 sets were generally pretty bad. Early sets managed to get a cohesive look by sticking to technic and a few simple parts, but then they decided to try and move away from technic while keeping the complex look, which didn't work out too well. G2's villains are pretty lacking as well, but it's definitely not the fault of the color palette. I mean, purple and lime is a far brighter and more "popping" color scheme than any G1 set had. I'd like to note that almost every wave of G2 seems to introduce several recolors, quite a few of them unique to one or two sets within said wave. Plus, we get like two or three new weapon molds per wave as well (despite the fact that CCBS could be used for this as well). This despite the fact that all you really need for shelf appeal is to stand out. Unique parts and recolors are not the only way to do that. Just using parts in colors that have already been made to reduce the part of the budget spent on new molds and the like versus the budget for the actual number of parts results in a far more coherent and visually appealing set. And if I just eliminated the gearbox from any of the Beasts and used one or two more armor shells in the same colors as appear in said set, it'd already look a lot better. And gappyness is something you see while it's on the shelf, the functions you only notice when you decide to look at it, which isn't much help if you never decide to do so.
  10. Giant whirligig beetles and dragonfly larvae? I use blue as the main color and dark blue as the secondary, with silver/grey and tr. neon orange as accents, with which one I use for a specific part being influenced by how warm I want the color distribution at that spot to be.
  11. Hopefully not. Time travel wreaks havoc on continuity.
  12. My point was exactly that, that there are more than enough MOCs that do take those requirements into account. Easy buildability, sturdy design and a limited parts palette (which, in the case of constraction, doesn't seem to be particularly limited when dealing with sets, often featuring ridiculous numbers of recolours and specialized molds for the number of sets there are) are basic factors to take into account when making a MOC.
  13. Actually, it matches it pretty well. However, the fact that the eyes are a different color and the fact that it appears to have an Infearno/Flama flame head piece on top makes me doubt it's the same head build.
  14. As someone who has both a Bohrok and a Skull Warrior right next to each other, I've got to say that, while they aren't as good for building, the Bohrok look exponentially more coherent. One thing a lot of Bionicle G2's design team seems to have trouble with is keeping things compact, coherent and flowing together well. There are so many MOCs with the right level of simplicity and size for sets that are better built than the actual sets it's embarrassing.
  15. I've got to agree with you on all these points, except I think a griffin might be better for Clay.
  16. Thanks for the screen captures! A few parts are instantly recognizable, like the HF kaiju fin, the chima spikes, the combination of the new wedge piece and the shield inlay (forming the lower legs) and the four helicopter blades used in the swords. Not sure how they'll get all the blades to come together to form a single blade, or if they'll just cut that out of the set completely. Definitely seems like a cool set, though.
  17. I'd imagine that Jestro'd use a large sea monster as his transport for an underwater wave. Perhaps a crab with a hollowed-out inner carapace. I'd hope the monsters would draw mostly on abyssal and the sort of creatures typically considered strange, like hagfish, wolf trap anglerfish and sea pigs. I can even imagine the generic brute/incredibly hard to hurt sort of character being chiton-based (chitons are basically a kind of slug that incorporates minerals into its shell and even uses them as eyes). The knights would draw on more typical vertebrates, like sharks for Macy, although hopefully they'd avoid dolphins (which would be creepy as hell if you know how real ones act). The black tron-line armor seems like it'd be very difficult to do, since it'd require several new dual-molded designs or a lot of strange and difficult printing. I'd still love to have it, even without the tron lines. Mushlord and the other plant villains seems like such good designs that'd it be a waste not to use them. I mean, a spear made out of flies? That's genius, and all it'd require is using the "translucent with sparkles" plastic.
  18. Kisscartoon has episodes 1-5, all at 720 quality last time I checked.
  19. I've seen it, but I hadn't noticed the name at all. Just a coincidence.
  20. The King's Mech doesn't interest me that much compared to other Nexo Knights' sets, to be honest.
  21. The back printing is unfortunate. Heh heh, all the commentators of the video wondering what happened with the rumors. I think I may have started those at one point.
  22. No Ninjago influence in this one. I just thought of the head as one of the first concepts, and when the time came to name it I thought it sounded appropriate. I don't remember and can't find a Ninjago animal by that name, actually. Do you have a source?
  23. What Nexo Knights sets should I get next? I'm planning on getting all of them (aside from Ultimate Beast Master and probably Ultimate Robin), I've got about 50 euros to spend, I found a shop where most products are at 90% or less of LEGO's normal prices and I already have Ultimate Macy and Moltor's Lava Smasher. Does Lance's horse ($17), the Battle Blaster ($9, I believe, although it may have been even cheaper), the Chaos Catapult (ditto) and Ultimate Lavaria (ditto) sound like a good idea? Or should I just get the Battle Blaster, the Chaos Chariot ($27) and Lavaria?
  24. Thanks! I honestly thought it looked a lot more like a bulldog than either of those, but now that you mention it, I can see the resemblance.
