If he is selling the same lot that you sold him, then it is technically ok. It's still the legitimate pictures of the actual product offered. It's kind of rude to reuse your pictures without asking, but so long as it is still the exact product photographed it is probably within the lines of being above board. If he has altered the lot in any way then no, he should not be using those pictures.

Samsonite (USA/Canada) LEGO discussion
Faefrost replied to Still Raindrop's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Really neat old set. Can anyone actually guess what the "model"(?) shown in the lower right pic on the box is supposed to be? Because my first though at looking at it is someone in the 1970's Lego design team might have been inhalling just a little to deeply over the molten plastic vats? -
I'm drooling over a new Space theme. And the name would fit with Galaxy Girl and Galactic Patrol CMF's. But stupid question? There is or was a rumor of another Lego themed online game in development. Do we have any idea if Lego Galaxy is the proposed name of that?

There may be another extension to the Marvel Universe kicking around out there. Word is that as part of the deal Disney signed with Joss Wheedon to make the next Avengers movie, they also want him to produce a Marvel live action TV series for ABC. Rumors have it that it will be a SHIELD series. Now that is an area that Lego has played in before with Alpha Team and Agents. Super Spy vehicles, secret agents, super villains. I'm drooling just thinking of set possibilities. (hect the shield color chimes already perfectly match the AGENTS line.)

Printed mini figures worry/ question!
Faefrost replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Licensed
There really isn't much reason to even do such machine printing of already in existence figs. A custome minifig maker could probably do better simply making true custom minifigs. Why make a counterfeit green phoenix when you could just as easily make a custom and highly desirable red/dark phoenix or white one without all the hassle? -
Minifigures Series 9 Guessing Game
Faefrost replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Good list, and I hate to nitpick... But the Eskimo + Penguin one may need a little more work. As in these are the two living things on the planet that are the absolute farthest from each other. Eskimo's ( or more properly Inuit) are found up north in the Arctic. Penguins are found way south in Antarctica. -
Getting closer to being build, as I investigate the strange paths if bricklink seeking my prize. But in the meantime I looped it through POV ray just to see what it will look like.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Faefrost replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
We know for certain it can't be the "Norman Osborn" Iron Patriot from Dark Avengers. Sony has the license to Norman as part of the Spiderman license. So it can be the Iron Patriot, but it would have to be somebody else inside. It may be related to the more recent "American Steel" character in the comics? -
Nah! We want a balanced mix. The licensed stuff has its place. Lego Star Wars, Batman and Marvel etc are or can be great. The issue is we don't want the licensed stuff to overwhelm or grossly displace the more creative designed Lego in house themes.

The Alien Mothership is a weird piece. It is big, kind of awkward and only has two figs, and not a lot of play features. But by the same token, once you get it in your hands it is an Oddly compelling set. It just feels cool, and the sound function is way more entertaining than it should be. It's a great set at $40. If you are falling in love with the AC stuff I strongly recommend getting a 7066 Earth Defense HQ. it is by far the best set of the line, the best Lego Space theme set in almost a generation, and one of their all time overall great sets. Everything about just works. From the ton of details and play features of the truck itself, to the Vic Viper inspired fighter, to the Alien Saucer to the unique to the set minifigs. (ADF Scientist, Female ADF Pilot and Alien Cyborg) For the smaller sets, the 7052 UFO Abduction is also a great little set.

LotR replaced Castle on the shelves for at least the short term. PotC replaced Pirates. Star Wars pretty effectively took classic Space off the shelves for almost 7 years. In recent years TLG seems to be giving priority of the license over the in house themes in many areas.

Those are gorgeous

I really like it. It reminds me a lot of he Republic Trooper player ship from SWTOR.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Faefrost replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think you are missing how CuuSoo works. None of the sets in review are in direct competition with each other. There is no win. Only a test if each given set is a viable option to produce. What little competition there is is if they all pass review, at which point it is a matter of deciding production order. The sets do not go head to head. There is no win/lose or one better than the other. Of those in review or scheduled for the next review, the only real slam dunk will be the Curiosity Rover. It is exactly what CuuSoo is about. It is a topical yet non pop culture subject.the project is fairly small and easy to produce. It was created by a NASA Engineer who worked on the real one, and TLG has an existing relationship with NASA. I will call it. This will bethe next set produced. The only thing they have to do is box art. The Western Town will probably see a scaled down version. But will pass. It's non licensed. It's in one of their Evergreen themes, and it falls into that same special place as the new Haunted House. It will sell well. The BTTF set is one I think they would like to do. But it will all depend on the license. Universal might go for it. The Zelda set I will be astonished if it passes review. It's a minifig set with little else. Nintendo is notoriously weird with their licenses. I just don't see the strong compelling case for it. Portal And Eve can go either way. I don't think the license will be a high hurdle, but they may be too niche in a business case. Of the two I think Portal has the bigger chance. The Sandcrawler will probably not be made under CuuSoo. But we can hope that it gets passed over to the SW license group and produced in some form as a new UCS set, with Marshall paid as a design contractor or some such. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Faefrost replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would be thrilled with a simple Hall of Armor set that had the Mark I through IV in display tubes and a civilian Tony Stark fig. -
A better question for these days might be "have the re-released and duplicate sets in the past 10 years? And if so how often does that occur?" That would more accurately reflect the current company policies and product plans. Which are most likely very different than what they were in the early 1980's. Also based on the OP's questions, we may also want to think on not just re-releases of a set, but re-runs or production restock of a given set. I think that is at the heart of what he is asking? How many times will Lego "re-print" a set to restock it on the shelves during its expected product lifecycle.

I love the store and the truck is just perfect! I'm not to sure about that minifig though. He looks suspicious. Quick somebody do a background check on him. He might be violating his parole.

I think we overlook one of the major technical hurdles that at least in the past have discouraged Lego from making jointed child legs. In the adult minifigs part of the purpose for the position able legs ( in fact the only real "play" purpose originally envisioned) was to be able to sit hem on something and have them lock in by clutching the studs. The problem with the short legs is there isn't enough space to allow for the connection points if you hinge them. It's a one or the other scenario. And before anyone says it, yes I realize that the Newer Friends mini dolls also lack this connection point. So it is possible that we will see something new in this area. But I am just not sure if or why they would put that much effort and resources into it? About the only thing that might precipitate Lego re-engineering the short legs would be the Hobbit movies, with their over abundance of very short main characters.

TMNT as the Ninjago replacement? Wow? That's just awful in so many ways. Don't get me wrong. I was a child of the 70's and 80's. I loves me some Turtles. But TLG would be going from one of their most successful self owned properties. Something that has driven current high rated TV shows, to what basically amounts to licensed drek, that these days is almost the same in feel to their original property? Why? The license is a horrible limiter in this case. The AFOLs want classic TV turtles. The Eastmen and Baird style characters from the comics and TV show. But the kids will only know the hideous new show or this truly horrid sounding Michael Bay movie, which is what any license will require that Lego pimp. It's going to be Last Airbender all over again. There is no way this comes off as a good business move. The Turtles would have been great 10 years ago. They would make a neat nostalgia thee for a short run. But to put them adjacent to their own colorful Ninja theme is a piss poor marketing move.

Absolutely MMV is the best of that list by far.

And I think I have found a roof design that I like Please tell me what you think? Front facing overview A better view of the details The roof itself where the Sensei has his little place of quiet contemplation in the busy city (not to mention his prize winning azaleas). The zen garden still needs some work. I am not completely satisfied with how the fame came out. But I may have to play with that a bit more "in the brick" rather than fighting with weird connections in LDD. Thanks everyone for your kind words so far. Oh and for those curious. Here are the full size screen shots http://s1183.photobucket.com/albums/x472/faelon/comic%20corner%20full/

Thanks all. And yeah I'll have to play with some parts I realize. Some colors will change for expediency. The outer door on the dentist office is fine with trans clear. It's the inner that may give me trouble. ( HiPPA requires that the public areas cannot see the patient care areas ) (dear gods I'm designing Lego to HiPPA standards... On a day off no less. Someone please hit me. ) For the roof, I sort of went with a style and period of building that I won't have to go too overboard with. I'm torn over what sort of Scene to put up there. I don't want to do another billboard like the GE. Hmmm? Edit: Here's the latest evolution. In attempting to digitally join the three floors I discovered that I had miscalculated and the back walls of the 2nd and 3rd floor were 1 stud to far in. So I had to rebuild the back walls and stairwells etc. (And yeah I know I still have a few red bricks showing that I forgot to recolor )
-
Thanks, and yeah, I realize the fall hazard of the stairs. It was sort of a trade off, in part to cover a miscalculation. I want the Dojo to feel more open, with a lot of outer wall space. But I didn't have enough room to put the door right at the top of the stairs. I would need to hallway off the stairwell. I may yet do it. I'm still playing with all of these. As far as Ninjago. I probably will not be quite so blatant with the naming. Although a few figs are already destined to be included. I think a short legged green Ninja would go well down in the comic shop.
-
And here is the tentative third floor. "Mojo's Dojo school of Karate". The interior is a bit sparse obviously. The training mat laid over a hardwood floor. Wood benches. Some display weapons and scrolls of teachings on the walls. A shelf for trophy's. I'm not quite satisfied with the corner windows yet. I'm open to suggestions. Now if only I could figure out how to combine them in one file to render? Anyway the tricky part of the roof is for tomorrow. Please let me know what you think. PS I still haven't decided on a form of signage for the Dojo? Something subtle in the window? A big sign on the roof?

That is gorgeous. The windows, the roofline the interior details. That's just amazing.
