Do you have pictures of these latest additions?

Great work creating these thumbnails Mr Thread! *y* Look at that rat infestation! Surely that's some kind of breach against sanitary standards! And look what I have... I was wondering if Mr Legopirate83 could put on of these in his Brickshelf Folder next time does some uploading...

How to use the Pirate LEGO Avatar and Signature Workshop
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
No, the ENTIRE Pirate LEGO Forum is free to everyone. -
You are a legend indeed Mister Phred! We must promote our new portal in order to attract more Pirate Fanatics to our community, thus you will have even more responses to your MOC threads!

Occassionally you will get missing pieces from eBay sets, however a compentent seller should be able to tell you if the set is complete or not. So if in doubt you can always ask. Most of the eBay sellers I buy from state the set is 100% complete and in most cases it is. However, I've built a generous collection of "spare" parts so it doesn't really matter if the odd piece or two is missing because I can easily replace them.

Now where did I see illustrations of these Les Blancs? It was either on one of those historic uniform websites or a miniatures website. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I think we should get some of those illustrations for this thread.
-
These torsos are quite nicely done Mr Dreamweb and at first glance I never would have suspected the result was achieved with an inkjet printer. So now I come to wondering which faction is this? Whom do the uniforms represent?

Is this what attracted you to that smiley Mister Hobbes? Lets have a look at this infamous fire place... You've created a very cozy yet function space within this MOC Mr Tordenskjold. but where do the occupants sleep? X-D

So potentially he could raise the value of this ship by

Unlike some lazy sods who don't even bother to check the index. Oh wait! That's right I was busy working on something very important. So you've actually been on board? You're quite a lucky chappy! Do you live far from where she berths? Did they invite you to the dinner Mr Beard? Seems they like that could do with a historical adviser, afterall isn't to plain rude for a gentleman to wear any kind of hat to the dinner table?

The Easter Bunny is looking quite transparent these days. Is that what happens when he stops using artificial colouring? X-D

Mister Phred, the Dame du Loup is looking awesome now its got the masts and I think the rigging really sets them off. I can't get over the the sheer size of it compared with the Armada Flagship! But now for another historic moment... Could you upload one of these to your Pirate MOC Brickshelf folders next time you do some uploading? We have some promoting to do! ;-)

That's mighty kind of you, Mr Bonaparte! But you're supposed to be rating the set, not the review! I'm to too fussed. This is a just a image for a hobby website, so I'm not going to dedicate hours in polishing the graphics like I would if it were paid work - there's not enough hours in the day for that.
-
Nah, I prefer Fireworks because it lets me use "Live Effects" X-D If you checkout the Set Reviews then you can see my efforts of combining LEGO sets with backgrounds. Anyway... The Fallen... I have some time to read, so I shall do so.

Greetnigs Southwest Chief! I'm wondering you purchased all your sets from stores back in the late 80's and 90's. By the sounds of it this is the case, but if you're like me and have acquired most of the larger sets from eBay (or a website that sells "preloved" LEGO) then there's always the possibility the has been made complete with subsitute parts from different sets. From example, I buy a 1989 European Forbidden Island but it has a cannon from a 1996 Northern American Red Beard Runner. So this makes it confusing to exactly when the non shooting cannons were introduced into Northern American sets. I've read (but whether its accurate is another matter) the original Northern American Pirate sets indeed came with shooting cannons for the first couple of years, but they were eventually replaced with non shooting cannons. So you could buy a Rock Island Refuge in 1991 with shooting cannons, but if you bought one in 1992 then it had the non shooting cannons. So could you indeed

I was looking at this here MOC and I couldn't help but notice the dark skinned mini-figure holding a pitch fork. While historically accurate I be wondering the political correctness of the connotations which may arrise from this image.

Since the USS Constitution is based on a real ship of the same name I figured it would have a Wikipedia article. (You got this in your index, Master Index Builder? :)) Here's the opening paragraph: USS Constitution, known as "Old Ironsides," is a wooden-hulled, three-masted frigate of the United States Navy. Named after the United States Constitution, she is the oldest commissioned ship afloat in the world, and is still in service in the US Navy. The Constitution was one of the six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and was launched in 1797. Joshua Humphreys designed them to be the Navy's capital ships and so Constitution and her sisters were larger and more heavily armed than the standard frigates of the period. In 1917 she was renamed to Old Constitution, to free the name for a new Constitution, a Lexington class battle cruiser that was never completed. She resumed the name Constitution in 1925 after the new hull was cancelled. In early 1941, Constitution was assigned the hull classification symbol IX-21[1] (the "IX" hull code stands for "Unclassified Miscellaneous"), but was reclassified to "none" on 1 September 1975.[2]

Athos the master vignette builder strikes again! I assume the blue bricks are supposed to be water? I'm not sure if I like the flat top, but then again it probably wouldn't look right if it was pointy. So here I am nitpicking! Old Moses on the other hand... He's awesome! He'd make a good Jedi Knight if his staff was replaced with a light sabre! Ok, I'll shut up now...

What other colours would you want lego bricks in?
Mister Phes replied to Optimax X's topic in General LEGO Discussion
And I shall third this - since I'm obviously too late to be the first to write it! X-D -
The Imperial Guards of course! The stormtroopers don't seem to fare too well against archaic technology, as proved by the furry Yub Yubs.

This is a truly glorious day! Star Wars LEGO fanatics around the world should be rejoicing! However, I believe Star Wars is worthy of its own forum a root level because its just too good to be a mere sub-forum. But that's just me!

Finally, someone is addressing the lack of colonial prescence within the Pirate theme. I always thought a "Colonist" sub-theme would be a great idea from the Pirate theme as it would take away the military edge. And if you wanted further depth I'd have a colonial sub-theme for each of the major nations (I.e. Britian, France, Span and Holland) and the architecture of these sub-themes would reflect that of those nations. I think Sid Meier's Pirates provide some very inspirational concepts of how you could distinctify a particular sub-theme with architecture pretaining to that nation. But anyway, that's getting of topic. Tell us more of your world Mr Tordenskjold?
