Yes, I was thinking distance might be a problem, but on the other hand you're both a lot closer than I am X-D Not that I have any MOCs worthy of presenting at a Brickfest. But I thought I'd put forward the idea anyway... Just on the remote chance he loved the idea so much he'd do anything to make it happen.

Something like Fort Brighton would be awesome to have at the next Brickfest, have you ever considered taking it to one Mr ZCerberus? We've been discussing the MOCs at Brickfest PDX 2007 and it badly needs a Port Brighton!

I think ZCerberus's Port Brighton would be a fantastic addition to a Brickfest.

While I live too far away to participate in Brickfest events there are users at Eurobricks who may be able to, so as an insider what information or advice could you provide for someone interested in submitting a Pirate MOC? Two useful resources would be the FAQ and How to get Invovled page of the Brickfest website, but there's nothing better than getting information from an inside source. What's the PDX stand for?

Mr Kutt, you have built quite a solid and formidable stronghold! And you've even got Star Wars posters in the backgrounds of some of the pictures. But once again I find myself noticing colours that don't quite fit it in, like the tan for example. I'm presuming it was chosen because of insufficent parts in another colour. Small gripe, but nothing major, nothing to tarnish the might of the keep!

Its Brickfest, not feast. They don't congrugate and eat bricks together! Good idea. We've already got threads to both these MOCs so unless someone can provide additional information about the other Pirate MOCs at Brickfest 2007 then this thread won't go very far.

I'm wondering how I would build a custom model without the instructions unless the model was shipped completely built? A completely built model would also add to the expensive of the shipping. Also, if this completely built model was accidentially damaged (i.e. total annhilation), how could the buyer rebuild it without the instructions?

Yes, that's the thread I had in mind and he did indeed join us. I don't usually PM users about participating in threads unless its really important or its their own thread. Someone else always seems to do it instead.

We have a thread for that lighthouse somewhere but I can't remember if we invited Mr Filz to discuss it with us. He'd be good to have on board because we could ask him more about Brickfest and that would help us develop a strategy to get more Pirate MOCs in future Brickfests.

I think I summed it up in my first post. Its awesome but its just not Spanish. There's no trace of any Spanishness to be seen! If there was at least some attempt to incorporate some Spanish architecture into the design then perhaps the title would be justified. But as it stands, it seems its just been titled "Spanish Fort" for the sake of titling it that. Do we know who created this fort?

This is definitely the finest building I've seen from the almighty Brickster! The only thing that's not working for me is the colour - teal? I think it really clashes the light brown because the brown is much brighter.

Well of all the awesomeness, but why is this thread titled "Spanish Port"? I don't see any Imperial Armada mini-figures in this MOC, nor can I find any information in the Brickshelf folder specifying that it is Spanish. It looks more like a blue coat soldier creation to me... We definitely couldn't add this to our upcoming Imperial Armada Index!

I meant information specifically relating to the MOCs we see at the top of the thread, like who built them for example. That website doesn't seem to provide that information. We've seen most them before too, so that must be an indication very few are building new creations. Maybe the users of this Pirate forum should ban together and so something about that for Brickfest 2008...

Ted Beard, what was the purpose of your correspondence with the creator. Since you've communicated with him in the past maybe you sent him an Email and find out what he's upto these days - presuming you have his current Email address that is.
