  1. This fellows looks like a prime candidate for Non-Pirate Figures Useful for Pirate MOCing? So do a couple of the others... Perhaps SlyOwl could be so kind as to add them when he has time.
  2. We shall need a new poll for April and I think this is quite a worthy topic.
  3. The Richelia has a magnificent sail configuration but the hull looks too tool long and narrow for them, though I'm not sure what kind of sails would suit that hull. I think this particular sail configuration would work well on a vessel using the standard ship hull pieces.
  4. Blast! I was going to post Achu! You beat me to it!
  5. There some real masterful building techniques in this MOC and some great little details, like this telescope for example. The photography however is a bit awkward in places, for example the below seems to have the wrong Depth Of Field making it difficult on the eyes:
  6. How come you want a pristine box? Do you collect boxes? Because you're silly :-P I regret not buying two or three or maybe more. Anything* for you Brickster!*Anything except the information listed on the exclusions list...
  7. What did you end up using it for?
  8. Yes, he speaks English and has given us permission to use his vignette on Classic-Pirates.com.
  9. I changed it to MOCETTE in the thread title. Have you found any of MOCs yet? I don't seem to have any new posts in their threads telling me how outstanding they are yet X-D
  10. You might want to checkout the Black Seas Barracuda vs Skull's Eye Schooner Poll.
  11. What do you mean not that educational? We have the finest historians in all the land researching for these articles - I.e. everyone who contributes to the Wikipedia articles I read for ideas while writing my sections. :-D
  12. Yeah, I'd recommend you make a new thread with a slightly different title as this thread seems to have fizzled out.
  13. Thanks for creating that thread Athos! Perhaps there should be a corresponding page for it on Classic-Pirates.com - but creating it won't be a while.
  14. I've never heard of the current Castle series called the crown theme before - or is it just you who does that? :-P
  15. What is that thing anyway? It's an interjection used as a mild exclaimation. X-D
  16. Ahhhh... That makes the difference then. But no doubt that price has happened before, at least once, somewhere in the world.
  17. The thread title is "Brickshelf" find so that usually indicates it wasn't created by the person who posted it. Looks to be quite an interesting MOC, I'll be sure to give it a more thorough examination and critique when I have more time.
  18. Woody!!! Where you been lately? I've been wondering where you and Mosana have got to. Anyway, I'll comment on your vignette when I have more time.
  19. I don't have time to write a lengthy comment right now but the first thing that strikes me about this MOC is the interesting way this anchor was constructed. Is it worthy of our Custom pieces Index?
  20. How do you think he could do better Mr Zuloo? And could you please refrain from quoting entire posts as it's unnecessary to do so.
  21. As I was discussing with The Brickster in his Islanders 6292 Help thread, if you go MISB the path, in some instances you'll be paying double for the parts, or maybe more! I saw a MISB Skulls Eye Schooner sell for over US$500 on eBay recently, so some of these Pirate sets are becoming investments. Besides, you can get plenty of clean and undamaged second hand sets at reasonable prices so why pay more than you have to for MISB if you're not acquiring it for collection purposes? Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud now...
  22. Even these release set are starting to fetch high prices in MISB condition. At present the cheapest on BrickLink is US$96.00. The main difference is the design on the box. As far as I'm aware everything else, including the instructions is identical to the original. Depends what you plan to with it. At the moment the original is US$85.00 on BrickLink. You could get one described as "Complete! Parts in perfect conditions" for US$40.00 So if you're planning on building it, do you really want to pay an extra $45 for the pleasure opening a MISB set? If you were planning to keep it as a collectors item then yeah, $85 seems fine for original to me and I may well buy one myself for that price. But for MOCing or building purposes I'd say it's a bit steep when you can get one in good condition for half the price.
  23. Egad! That link is not very visible amongst all that text! Here, check out this awesome thread!
  24. Thanks for taking the initiative to get this thread kicked off, Mr Athos. Now, keep the mini-figures coming folks!
