This is all very well and good? But what happens with the design now?

Attention! Ideas for armies of the four French and Indian Wars
Mister Phes replied to Francis Marion's topic in LEGO Pirates
Exactly what is happening with the mini-figure generator? I was told it was going to be integrated into Classic-Pirates.com yet it appears to have found it's way onto another website but still uses the Classic-Pirates.com interface? -
So you don't think this Enlighten ship is a decent substitute for the Black Seas Barracuda?
-
I wouldn't even consider buying a Mars Mission set so that's hardly a comparison. Yes, I agree - the designs capture the essence of Classic Space yet utilise the more recent LEGO pieces and THIS is exactly why I'd consider buying them. I'm just not really satisfied with the method of distribution however.

Great review Dunamis! You've done a mighty fine job! *y* When I saw the preview pictures of this set I assumed it was going to be released as a series of smaller sets. Obviously this is not the case, which is a pity, because if they were smaller sets I may have purchased them individually over a period of time. Because they're one big set I don't feel willing to committing myself to the purchase - it seems too much money for me, a non Space fan to fork out in one sitting and I don't want to spend 3 hours assembling them to ensure all the pieces are there.

Ahhhh... Finally she can set sail. But I thought this ship was ready a couple of months ago?

The New Pirate Forum Skin - Have your say
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'll need to have a think how to intelligently handle that News Ticker. Maybe I could put it up in the banner where the menu is and then move the menu to where the News Ticker begins to scroll. Hmmmm.... -

Yes it is. But I too wish for less fish X-D -

By all means, report glitches you come across as computers like to find clever ways of not working properly. I've gone to great lengths to reduce that area of blue between the banner and start of the actual forum. I've added a texture to the water and some fish - maybe the fish are overkill... We'll see how they go for a day or so. -
You could replace those Castle figures with pirates and it would work very well indeed. The photography here is pretty good too! Anyway, stop stealing oDDerFisken's thread with your great work :-P

Have you got names for these pirates yet? If you're going to make them part of an ongoing story you might like to give them some form of identity. I suppose you've got somewhat of a point there. Although the definition given to me was Vignettes are usually 8x8 or 16x16. Well it's a starting point at least! Yes, we shall find a way to let it proliferate into popular AFOL culture X-D Competitions require competent people to run them. But this might be an interesting idea for our next one.

Sea Battle - Black Seas Barracuda vs Troll Warship
Mister Phes replied to Captain Cavinano's topic in LEGO Pirates
So here we have for the first time the Black Seas Barracuda versus the Troll Warship! HA! HA! Great idea! :-D I've made a slight amendment to the thread title because I suspect it will get more attention this way. -
I was unaware the US$50 included postage, so yes US$35 is probably quite reasonable if it was MISB. On the other hand, if you're patient, sometimes you can get the real thing off eBay for around US$35. But you'd be competing with me at that price X-D

Ah yes. So it is! Nevermind then!

By now I know most of the tricks for getting bricks! Most of my friends have either long since parted with LEGO or don't want to part with it. I tried to buy some sets off the Unholy Lama once but he refused to part with them and there was another fellow who had a Black Seas Barracuda but he wouldn't even sell it. So acquiring Pirate LEGO from my friends doesn't appear to be a viable option at the moment. One day! Anyway... Back to this Imperial Burial MOC. Did you mention who is being buried?
-
I have heard of this happening before but unfortunately I'm yet to experience it first hand. It's one of my LEGO dreams... So these people haven't heard of eBay and possibilities of making money out the LEGO they no longer want? They're silly! :-D Well it's a start! Come to think of it I badly need just normal blocks. Of course we're just teasing you X-D Actually when the Pirate theme was available in stores most of were kids and couldn't afford the sets anyway. It's now we're older and have jobs that we can afford so many sets. I recall the largest sets I could afford when I was kid was Broadside's Brigg and Shipwreck Island. I had to save long and hard for those, and even then I waited for them to go sale. LEGO is too expensive!

IMPORTANT: The Mailing List - Newsletters and Bulletins
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
That option is already available, simply go to Classic-Pirates.com - Archive - Bulletins This is the main reason I want a regular newsletter or bulletin - to maintain interest levels. Not everyone can visit the forum daily so if we send updates then hopefully this will be incentive to return. -
Bricks to the world (www.bttw.com.au) are selling it for A$275.95. If I'm not mistaken they have a A$4.95 postage rate Australia wide at the moment. Check it out

The New Pirate Forum Skin - Have your say
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yes. They were uploaded straight to Eurobricks.com and no other server has been used to store them. That's already been done except for some reason the CSS isn't positioning it properly. I'm gonna fix that as soon as I figure out how. -
The New Pirate Forum Skin - Have your say
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Good spot! *y* I forgot all about that. Fortunately I recreated a sub-domain redirection for the forum so that will save me updating EVERY page on Classic-Pirates.com... Glad you lads like the new skin. Errr... No...? -
That's not the point. The point is vignettes are a depiction and their design should imply they're a crowded space without actually being one. Says me who has never made a vignette X-D But seriously, I'm just observing other vignettes who have employed clever means of appearing crowded without looking too cluttered.
-
Oh my! I've accidentally coined a new phrase in LEGO terminology due to my ignorance of what's defined as a vignette! Yes I quite like what you've done - I think it's the sail that really emphasizes what's happening here and it's a great touch. It really gives the sense of being shipwrecked with the survivors using anything they can get their hands of for shelter.

Maybe this thread should be bought to his attention...

Col. Whipstick posted yesterday in fact. So my previous statement about him going AWOL is now inaccurate! He uses MS Paint. I've been encouraging him to use Adobe Illustrator due to it's vector capabilities but to no avail... One day the master will come along and do them all like this...

I'm not familiar with LDD so could you tell me what Online mode is?
