  1. This auction seems quite awesome so I've given an upgrade and frontpaged it! I like this picture too...
  2. I think this is fair reasoning as users deserve options, but I believe the user should decide for his or herself without the influence of a somewhat libelous policy.
  3. Supposedly they're a friendly and mature community, but one may find themself questioning: Does a genuinely friendly and mature community resort to belittling or directing children and potential troublemakers towards another community in what appears to be a strategy to increase the popularity of their own community? I think, ideally both Pirate LEGO communities should co-exist harmoniously sharing the love of their common interest, but I'm strongly impressioned they feel rather differently. Which is a shame because it seems unnecessary to introduce negativity into the online AFOL Community - but that's real life competition for ya! Not everyone resorts to honourable measures.
  4. Too bad SlyOwl is away until the 24th of August but I'm sure he'd be glad to assist when he returns.
  5. I Scream Clone used gold and copper/bronze crystals in his Rum Trade MOC.

  7. If you can turn them off then they're not going to make any difference to you
  8. With RSS Feeds they don't even need to go to eBay now! As for the advertisements, some people don't visit eBay every day or can't use it as effectively, so these ads are a real benefit to those people. Of course, even if you do visit eBay every day you might miss something but the ads are like a second reminder.
  9. Good news everybody! After successfully trailling the eBay Advertisements in the LEGO Pirate for 4 months we've decided to offer the LEGO Licensed forum the same convenience. This is a one month trial and the eBay advertisements can be disabled or enabled at any time but you'll need Javascript and cookies enabled for this to work. By default they advertisements should be enabled so it's just a matter of clicking the Turn Advertisements Off link, wait 10 seconds and then the page should refresh without the ads. Everyone try this now and report the outcome Report all feedback and technical problems in this thread. RSS Feeds For those of you who are RSS savvy there are two RSS feeds you can subscribe to. This means you can have the eBay auctions delivered straight to your Internet Browser or News Reader without visiting eBay or Eurobircks! If you're not sure how to do this we have complete instructions for using RSS.
  10. That and the fact the LEGO Pirate Forum is part of Eurobricks and not hosted on Classic-Pirates.com. It's probably in the best interest of Pirate LEGO Fanatics. Personally I don't think the Pirate forum situation with Eurobricks is really the most ideal solution so I hope their forum is a success.
  11. That's quite alright! Enjoy your time here!
  12. Exactly what do you mean by that mighty Green Captain? I'm not much of a builder, as you're no doubt aware so what are these "steps" you speak of?
  13. I notice we have some interest in Pirate LEGO Films at the moment so I thought I'd bump this index for the benefit of the new users who may not have seen these films yet.
  14. Greetings Green Trooper! We already have a thread about that film, so I shall merge this thread after you've read this post. Also, check out our Pirate LEGO Films Index to see other great animations!
  15. I've got one of those embroideries somewhere... I must remember to take a large high resolution picture of it sometime.
  16. Thanks for the close-ups of the treasure chest I Scream Clone! It certainly is an interesting idea to use gold and copper in its original [LEGO] form. I wonder how an entire treasure cave would look with those pieces protruding from the walls and ceiling.
  17. Well compared to real sharks they're still quite small Google tells me this is a Duplo shark:
  18. Is that a Duplo shark?
  19. You've done well to provide those calculations, Wes. Imperial Guards and Soldiers aren't cheap at the best of times but you're right, that price is a bit excessive.
  20. There are those who have more money than they know what to do with so they need to waste it on something I'd be curious to know who actually made it, whether it was officially produced by the LEGO Group or by one of those Asian imitation/clone brand manufacturers.
  21. Slap a tricorn on you and you really would look like a pirate
  22. This is pretty good for a first Pirate MOC I think I'll flag this for frontpaging. I wouldn't mind seeing a closeup of the treasure chest - I've never seen those gold and silver crystals used in a Pirate MOC before and they have me intrigued.
  23. Hmmmm... The Red Beard Runner doesn't appear to be that "cheap" anymore, in fact it seems quite reasonably priced.
  24. Well this certainly is a nice touch! Is there an official LEGO anvil piece? Maybe that would be a prime candidate for ImperialShadows What Elements Would You Like to See, and Why? thread? They certainly are pricey, shame about at that though because you demonstrated that LDD has great potential for Pirate MOCs.
  25. You're most welcome Indy! I'm a traditional pirate set enthusiast myself some I'm somewhat bias towards designs that resemble the Pirate sets of the late 80's and early 90's. Perhaps you could remove the slopes and try for a different design in that area?
