Interesting enough most architects and engineers build on computer first and then in the real world. Hmmmm... Now why might that be? There used to be a user round these parts named ZCerberus and he used to design quite impressive forts and harbours in MLCAD then build them in the real world. Now whether he really needed to use MLCAD or not I'm not sure, but perhaps that enabled him to improve his designs. You should do a search for some of his threads.

How many pieces are each cannon? They look about 10 pieces each to me...

Back stories can be interesting so today I'm going to focus on the back story of this MOC: So what is this 'War of Crowns' - who was that fought between? Have you ever considered getting one of those ghost mini-figures and...

Any chance getting a new camera in the near future? Those pictures in you have in your signature and avatar look alright - which camera did you take those with?

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Mister Phes replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
You could always create a Brickshelf account - I'm not sure that they have the same limits as FlickR accounts. What is the limit for a FlickR account anyway? -
Really, how much does it weigh? So what do you think you might do to your frigate now you've got some feedback?

It any body is in the market for Mint In Sealed Box sets I've just found some on eBay - 6267 Lagoon Lockup, 6264 Forbidden Cove and 6289 Red Beard Runner. I'd seriously consider winning the Lagoon Lockup but the seller isn't accepting international bids so that puts me out of the running. For everyone else I've listed them in the Mint in Sealed Box MADNESS so bid away!

A realistic Port Town House created with LDD
Mister Phes replied to Joey Lock's topic in Pirate MOCs
You're quite fast Joey! Congratulations! I've frontpaged your creation because I think it demonstrates the merits of using LEGO Digital Designer to create Pirate and colonial creations. -
Yikes! Another impressive MOC! I'd say this one is a frontpager for sure!

Frighteningly horrible that scares people in a way that excites them - OR - in away that makes them quite unimpressed?

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Mister Phes replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
Do you have a close-up picture of your cavalry? No doubt you do in another thread - I've just missed it somehow. If you need any help getting those items out there just let us know! -
Yes, the gore shot is hilarious - I can almost see the cannon ball flying out the other side! That red plant is a very innovative means of producing a grisly explosion. You might like to take some close-up pictures because its quite difficult to see much detail because of the low resolution.

This is just what we need! For a time there all we saw were ship MOCs and then they almost disappered. Very few ship MOCs whatsoever! I think this one is worthy of frontpageness and perhaps newsletterness also!

You're most welcome! It's a great MOC so lets get it out there as much as possible - we might even use your it in our next newsletter...

Now there's a good possibility those sock puppets need a wash... Boner-Party only agreed to do it because I told him to

2009 Pirate Set Impressions - the good, the bad and the ugly
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
6240 (Raft) What I like I like the fact that there are two animals in new colours. I don't mind the octopus myself. The set uses jewels instead of gold coins which is a refreshing change. This set appears to mark the introduction of telescopes which is definitely a useful piece for the Pirate Theme What I don't like The raft. Structurally the base seems alright but the crows nest doesn't look much at all. It seems to need a bit more than a single mast piece to hold the basket up. The colour scheme. I don't think the brown and tan work very well together because the tan is far too light. I suspect replacing the tan for a dark shade of brown would be the solution. The set could still have two different shades of brown but the second shade wouldn't be so gaudy. Right now the raft base looks like chocolate and Nugar... -
I thought it would be interesting to bump this thread to see what the response is after recent events. I've also added an additional poll option...

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Mister Phes replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank you for the prompt response Badger! If we don't get a lot of responses in this thread then I shall merge it with the thread you've brought to our attention. -
What is the situation with you Mr Norro? You seem to have been quite of late, and at one point I'm sure you disappeared for an extended period of time. It's not the same without a Norro!

Maybe I'm a bit slow here but I've missed something... Are you creating this with real bricks or in a program like LDD or MLCAD?

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mister Phes replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
As far as quality goes you can't go wrong with Soldier/Imperial Guard sets, in my opinion they're all strong, even though I'm not that keen on the Caribbean Clipper because its aft section looks to barren. As for the price, well that's up to your dedication in hunting down bargains. If you use eBay you can get any set at a bargain price if you're prepared to do the searching. We try to make this easy for you by displaying eBay auctions at the bottom of the Pirate forum but a lot of people still don't use them. Just recently a Skull Harbor sold for £4.99/US$10.00. Skull Harbor is quite a large set worth around £30/US$60. So it demonstrates the potential bargains that can slip past you...- 502 replies

Some Pirate stuff I have made or changed around
Mister Phes replied to BlackBrit's topic in Pirate MOCs
The good old Pirate Warning huh? Was this inspired by the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie? It seems to have been a major source of inspiration for many. The pirate hideout looks like a beefy upgrade to 6270 Forbidden Island - you've taken the basic concept and then embedded it into a mountain top with some added battlements for good measure! -
You've done well to convert to Australian dollars! Actually, they're annoying me since they seem to have dropped 15 cents in the past month! That's not going for buying Pirate LEGO Internationally ya know! But I think that highlights the point that converting into too many currencies because their value fluctuates and the information becomes obsolete very quickly. Hey Joey, if you wanted to, could you just create a dozen cannons in LDD and buy those or does LDD have a "minimum" amount these days?
