  1. Thank you for creating this Pictorial Review for us Metalandi! We'll be sure to frontpage it on Classic-Pirates.com and feature it in the July newsletter.
  2. I don't think it works like that, but if someone who knows more then please do correct me. Here's my interpretation: The LEGO Group is not obliged to confirm or deny their upcoming products to the AFOL community, so therefore may NOT inform the LEGO Ambassadors of anything. In subsequent Emails the LEGO Representative said even if there were upcoming Pirate LEGO products he could not confirm this. They're acting under Non Disclosure Agreements after all and if they value their employment they will honour this agreement. But hey wait a minute! Doesn't somewhat contradict my report that they said there was nothing planned for LEGO Pirates?
  3. Never fear! We have a Batch Image Resize Tutorial to help reduce the size of your images.
  4. Actually, most eBay sellers want the highest price possible for their auctions so we're assisting them to get a better price. It costs money to list auctions and also eBay takes about 10% of the final bid, so unless every UK seller extremely wealthy they can't afford to rub it in my face You've raised an interesting point. There's also a lot of last second bidders who aren't necessarily snipers too. I think I'll have to pay closer attention to the final price to determine the accuracy of your theory. "Where the best"? Certainly not the best at grammar - it's "we're" by the way... And if you were the best then could fetch higher prices for your eBay auctions
  5. So you've taken an Imperial Flagship and made a few modifications? It looks a whole lot smaller though. Exactly what is the significance of the "0003" in the top left corner? Is that a serial number and this is the third ship in that series?
  6. Since your LEGO Universe topic didn't generate any interest I merged it with this one.
  7. Don't know about that $20-$30 as that seems too much for a Castaway's Raft or Shipwreck Island, in fact there's 6257 Castaway's Raft in the US for $5 right now... Heck! There's even a 6249 Pirate's Ambush, 6268 Renegade Runner, 6263 Imperial Outpost and 6264 Forbidden Cove all for $5 in the US! Or an 6244 Armada Sentry for 99 cents!
  8. Why does Pirate LEGO fail to fetch high prices in UK eBay Auctions? Quite often I scroll down to the UK eBay ads and see sets (some quite moderately sized on occasion) with very few bids. I ask why? Why don't people in the UK and nearby countries take advantage of these prices? Are UK sellers bad to deal with? Does ebay.co.uk have strange rules? Are there hidden fees or taxes? Postage too ridiculously high? (All hyperlinks in this post link to eBay Auctions) Quite good deals 6271 Imperial Flagship ~ £13.49 6261 Raft Raiders ~ £3.25 6285 Black Seas Barracuda ~ £32.00 SOLD FOR 6262 King Kahuka's Throne - £4.25 6259 Broadside's Brigg - £6.06 6244 Armada Sentry - £6.06 6256 Islander Catarmaran - £4.87 6266 Cannon Cove - £5.59 6257 Castaway's Raft - £4.20 6260 Shipwreck lsland - £7.50 6265 Saber Island - £15.49 6260 Shipwreck lsland - £5.50 6257 Castaway Raft - £5.50 DISCLAIMER: The Administration of Classic-Pirates.com and Eurobricks is in no way accountable for this eBay auction or any eBay auction advertised in our forum or website. 9. eBay and BrickLink are two completely different websites and what happens on BrickLink has no effect on eBay. If you're in doubt of an eBay auction then examine the pictures, auction description and seller feedback thoroughly, and don't be afraid to ask the seller questions. Generally UK Pirate LEGO eBay auctions perform poorly so it's not unusual to see such low prices - I have no idea why more Europeans don't take advantage of this.
  10. Well I'm thoroughly teased! When is this BrickLink order supposed to arrive?
  11. There are definitely many great Pirate LEGO bargains in the UK. Check out this 99 cent/pence auctions 6260 Shipwreck Island in the UK 6257 Castaway Raft in the UK All ending within 24 hours!
  12. You could get an entire 6281 Pirates Perilous Pitfall with a box cheaper than these soldiers! It's a US only auction though...
  13. Ummm... Wouldn't the boat sink under that much weight?
  14. No, I need a faster and more reliable Internet connect. That picture didn't load and it's not the first time a picture hasn't loaded after I've asked a question like that.
  15. Errrr... Exactly where is the volcano part? It just looks like a rocky outcrop. Nonetheless, it looks awesome so I'm flagging it as frontpage material!
  16. I almost forgot to share this auction with everyone!
  17. The cutting back on pieces started 12 years ago and fortunately it's improved since then, but ALL companies are about making money, or at least they want to... Quickly looking a Eldorado Fortress, Lagoon Lockup, Saber Island, Imperial Outpost, Cannon Cove, Imperial Trading Post, etc. none of these have back walls. I always presumed the absence of a back wall was to allow internal playability.
  18. Mr Lock! You're certainly churning out some awesome creations! But as for pricing... I'm curious how much they would cost to buy - can you share that information with us?
  19. Now I'm thinking "bee" Do you need to have the mortar plates between the bricks? I think it makes it look too "stripey" Try removing the plates so it goes something like this: Bottom row - yellow bricks Second row - white bricks Third row - white bricks Forth row - white bricks Fifth row - yellow bricks Top row - white bricks Remember that one "floor" in an official pirate sets is 6 bricks high.
  20. I've revamped the first post of this thread. So now everyone should be seeing screen shots and YouTube links.
  21. Well... Well... Well... SlyOwl, you know how much I disdain Steampunk As usual an excellent creation and you've got superb CG backgrounds - I can't believe how good those backgrounds are.
  22. IndyJ you're doing an excellent job of proving LEGO Digital Designer is capable of creating fort-like structures. As for this particular fort... Given what you've got to work with you've done a great job at creating something that could be an official set - it reminds me of something out of Knights Kingdom II expect for pirates. The only part I don't like is the excessive use of slopes - to me they look some kind of ramp where the enemy can run straight up and almost scale the wall.
  23. I see what you mean I think the problem is you're trying to mix building materials the wrong way. I.e. you're trying to construct part of the port from stone (the white and yellow) and part of it from wood (brown and black) but it doesn't look right having stone supposed by wood. You just don't usually see it in the real world and that's probably because stone is heavier than wood and therefore it would lead to structural complications later on. To make it work you need to have individual structures. So one structure built from stone and another build from wood, otherwise you'll get this "chocolate cake" effect.
  24. Ya know, you don't have to quote the entire post every time? You can remove the link to image first... It's probably better if you did...
  25. Errrr... It's supposed to be the monthly poll topic, not a personalised question to assist me with my MOCing... I'm certainly not going to be building anything with tanned mini-figures in the near future.
