Dear Mr. blueandwhite, In response to your ongoing defense of older LEGO castle and attacks on the newer I hereby issue you a challange. Each of us may choose a set priced at or on the $15-25 range when originally in retail. You may choose any set issued between 1984-1997 an I will in turn choose a set between KK2 year one and two. The goal is to forever set aside the value debate of both. The builders duel contest will consist of a series of alternate MOCs built only from your choosen set. You will need to display -a solid level of play value -ability to use the set in other themes -a suitable alternate MOC using nearly all of the parts You may build as many or as few MOCs as you want to illustrate your point but you must have at least one for each point of display. When you are finished you will need to photograph and post your duel entry in a soon to be created thread with a poll in which the good members of EB can vote to cast a judgement on the validity of your accusations that KK2 is inferior to Classic Castle themes. Do you accept this challange?

Actually these sets couldn't be further from the older castle stuff. -they have more weapons -better armor -more hosre accessories -new seige equipment -more detailed pieces -better parts for other MOCs I would say these are better in all aspects except basic bricks and plant life.

I do have a many of the pieces from 5235 but I can not complete it as I sold many of the figures I also have a few classic space sets. I have one white ninja and three green ninjas. Not sure how rare though. I have many parts in many colors that only came in one set but as demand for them isn't high there are not worth much. They are just as rare but you wouldn't think so if you wanted to buy them.

With nine days left you may need to sell a kidney, rob a bank, take out a loan, undergo medical testing, donate mutliple bodily fluids, live on dirt and rocks for a year or possibly all of the afore mentioned. At an increase $200 every hour, this would only cost you about $52000. This is insanity. :oD

I always thought these sets were made to use up parts sitting in the facotry somewhere. Like they did with the spring cleaning boxes last year. A little more tought went into these but they seem to be too much of a hodge podge.

And so you shall. Though it is quite late to be adding to this topic. I never got around to actually drawing this until this week. I put in a hour or two total on it. I would have used pencil and gotten some better shading and detail but I don't have a scanner so I drew it in MS Paint.

The better sets are almost non-existant. Most of the SW, Viking, HP and Ferrari sets are gone. What I find surprising is that bionicle and KK are still for the most part easy to be found. Though some stores still have quite a lot because they won't put it on sale, raise the normal prices or both. LEGO should be way out of the black after this. 2005 was a very good year for LEGO though because both HP and SW came out. That alone drove up sales. Next year will have no movie to help boost sales. Exo Force, Sponge Bob, Batman, new SW, Avatar and the new KK sets all look very promising. 2006 should do just as well or better I hope. My biggest fear now is that there will be nothing to buy on clearnace. :(

I am looking to take the best offer from anyone here at EB for some Classic Space sets. There are in good condition do and do not smell like smoke. I no longer have the instructions for any of them (except one) but they are complete with all original parts. I will take the best offer for them as a solid lot. Sets include 6805 452 missing 1 shield 462 with instructions 493 487 442 1498 x3 The bricklink average for these sets would be over $430. I am willing to sell this for much less. If the offer is over $300 I will ship it for free worldwide. I will leave this offer open until next Wednesday after which if I haven't gotten an acceptable offer I will part the sets and sell them on Bricklink. If it is the multi set you will probably not find one left at Target. It would be very smart for LEGO to release just the red fighter as it would make them millions.

This looks nice. I would use this if I stored sets but as of now everything is just parts to me. Not to go off topic but I agree with the box size. Some sets are perfect. Others, especially the larger are not sized correctly at all. The are so huge that the parts bounce around and get scratched up. Not good at all. I would think that by making boxes smaller it would save more on shipping. Everyone knows LEGO is not a cheap toy so why try to fool people with big flashy boxes that are filled with air more than LEGO. It makes me more upset to open an almost empty box than to have to pay for a smaller full one.
