  1. Thanks to all for your comments. :)
  2. Thanks to all for you kind comments. Sorry for the "!!!" In my country we are really expressive when talking (moving hands, talking loud, etc.) and I guess it's my way of letting that expresiveness out. Guess it's the Italian heritage. :)
  3. PS me and I think we can sort something out. About controversy, I really thought I would have all the LEGO purists and DSS haters jumping at me. Either they're being too polite or they haven't seen it yet. :)
  4. Thanks to all for your comments. About the turning speed, I hadn't thought of using an IR receiver and the train remote control. That's a good idea... I've also got to do something about it being so noisy, which I personally hate. Many thanks again to all...
  5. Thanks for your comment. Always woderen why not many people integrate train/ city with castle, considering the huge amoun of European AFOLS... :)
  6. Many thanks for your comment.. Got to thankTLC for the yellow highlight though... :)
  7. I completely agree... but the truth, I don't really have mayt technic gears and I really suck when it coms to working with Technic parts!!! I guess I should order some from Bricklink and start experimenting... :)
  8. You're right!!! I didn't check before filming in which direction I had switched the PF bateery box!!!! :)
  9. Thanks for your comments!!! This was a quick build with leftover pieces, so it doesn't have an interior. I should come back to this model and re do it so that the roof can be taken off and ad the interiors... When I can do this, I'll update the post, but my guess is it won't be in the near future... :(
  10. After doing a search in Brickshelf I finally foun the trees I had seen. They were by a user named wunztwice. So most of the credit for the must go to him...
  11. I know the moderators might kick my... but though almost a year has gone by, while browsing my posts in search of another thing, I realized I had never posted the pics... So, a promise it's a promise... :) Though my altimetre shows a lower altitude,, here's the REAL height reached...
  12. Sorry, had forgotten to link that one... :)
  13. Hi to all!!! This time I bring you my latest MOC. This one I’m pretty sure will raise some controversy!!!! Some will like it, some will hate it… Why? Simply because some will consider it to not be purist (yet to me it is as pure as any LEGO set). And why is this? Because the model mainly relies on stickers to achieve its look!!! Personally, I hate when other AFOLS speak of “The Dreaded Sticker Sheets” and of “the good old days of printed parts”, because that simply isn’t real. If you do some research in Bricklink or Peeron, you’ll find out that LEGO has been using stickers since 1973 (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3008pb075) and that, in fact there exists more stickered parts than actual printed parts!!!! So, saying that TLCs standards ever were printing parts is simply not true!!! Personally, I love stickers. To me they give you plenty of flexibility on your pieces collection. You decide whether to use them or not, you can easily replace them and, above all, you can customize them if you have some skill. Also, new stickers are of great quality and are easy to remove and reuse!!! So, after this brief intro, on to the model… I wanted to make a half timbered building to serve as a medieval Town Hall for the old area of my City Layout (which also would let me use it with my Castle sets) I always loved the half timbered printed pieces and wondered why LEGO didn’t produce them in larger quantities or ever used them for more than details and not as the main feature of any structure. Getting then on Bricklink is really expensive and being 5 studs wide makes them difficult to MOC with. Besides, LEGO never produced them in white. Another option was making the half timber with slopes and plates (as many have done with great success before). I discarded this option basically because of cost. I live in Argentina, and have to get all my pieces abroad, which means that cost and weight are really important issues to me. Brick building them would mean getting LOTS of pieces and paying huge shipping and Customs costs!!! Besides, I would never be able to achieve the look I wanted with that method. So, I decided to make my own, based on the 1x6x5, 1x2x3, 1x2x5 panels and 1x4x5 with window panel. I designed the stickers in Illustrator and decided to print them on white vinyl (the same material used in LEGO’s stickers). I printed them in a printer near my home, where they use waterproof dyes, which means that the pieces can get wet without getting ruined and that I don’t need to varnish them, which will yellow with time. Here are some images of the stickers I made and the pieces with them applied. And the building itself!!! Hope you like it!!! Comments and suggestions are welcomed… So, on to the model!!! The Statue: The minifig was painted with acrylics, then I applied water slide clear decals (which I had first designed in Illustrator) and to finish it all, I applied a coat of glossy varnish. P.S.: Interiors are pending due to budget!!!!
  14. Hi to all!!!! I've been organizing my collection during the weekend and decided to grab the chance and picture all my MOCS (some are several years old). I'll be posting them during this week, so, if you're interested in this one, check them out... :) Amongst my MOCS is this Post Office. I own several of the modular sets and always thought that the Market Street set doesn’t look right when placed in the middle of other two modulars. The lower part of it is too short compared to the height of the other modulars, so, the only option is to put it “at the end” of your street. But when you do this, it looks strange as it isn’t a corner building and the market area looks empty and bare. So, I decided to make a corner building that would solve the issue. It intends to be a barroque building and has three sections. A flower shop, which opens both to the street and the to the inside of the market area of the Market Street set, a Post Office, which takes the ground level of the corner and, above it an artist’s studio. The post office has a parking area besides the office itself. Hope you like it!!!! Comments are welcomed...Cheers!!! Sorry!!! Had forgotten the most important one!!!
  15. Hi to all!!!! I've been organizing my collection during the weekend and decided to grab the chance and picture all my MOCS (some are several years old). I'll be posting them during this week, so, if you're interested in this one, check them out... :) Amongst my MOCS is this Oceanographic ship I did for my divers. Unfortunately it doesn’t float (the centre of gravity is too high and makes it capsize. I can’t add any more weighed bricks since when I do so, it sinks!!!! ), so it it’ll stay docked in my layout’s port…Hope you like it!!!! Comments are welcomed...Cheers!!!

I did this one for my sigfig (I’m an architect and photographer, so you will notice my sigfig holding his Canon Eos 5D MK II with it 28-300 L lens attached  ). Hope you like it!!!! Comments are welcomed...Cheers!!!

  22. Hi to all!!!! I've been organizing my collection during the weekend and decided to grab the chance and picture all my MOCS (some are several years old). I'll be posting them during this week, so, if you're interested in this one, check them out... :) Amongst my MOCS is this small train station. I always loved how LEGO integrated Town and Castle in the early 80s. I completely understand why this would be impossible to do now, but I really hoped they did it again. My train layout has an area where the old castle is (I also posted this MOC), so I decided to do this small train station to go near it. The idea behind it is that the station was constructed using the ruins of a gatehouse of the “old city”, so it combines a stone and half timbered structure with a modern glass and steel roofing.. Hope you like it. Comments are welcomed...Cheers!!!
  23. Thanks, but to be fair, the trees are inspired from some trees I once saw in Brickshelf (I can't remember the author of them to give him credit, so, I anyone reading this is the author, please claim the crdit for them!!!) :)
