I've bought from 1001 Bricks. Never had a problem with them and their parts have always been shiny and scratchless. Shipping time is slow, mainly because they use a really unexpensive shipping method, but which takes some time to arrive...

Hi, I've used Papilo's white vinyl in tthe past, and let me warn you, its quite thick!!! Besides, if your inkjet printer doesn't use water resistant dyes, then it doesn't make much sense printing on vynil, since you won't be getting the advantage of it being water resistant (you'd be better off using common adhesive paper). For my decals, I draw them first in Illustrator and the take them to have them printed on white or clear vynil (you can even use metallic and white ink)to a print house near my home. If I can get that done correctly here in Argentina, my guess is you shouldn't have a problem having it done in the states (and if you can't have it done there, and are willing to pay the costs, I've got no problem in getting it printed for you, just send me a PM). The good thing about this methos is that the vynil used is really thin and that the inks used are solvent based, so they are water resistant. Basically they look pretty much the same as TLCs own stickers. You can check how they look in this MOC I posted a few months ago. MOC - PF Shunter . Cheers from down south!!!

Hi to al!!! I live in Argentina and have never been to a LEGO Store. My girlfriend is travelling to New York in a couple of days and seh will be visiting the Rockefeller Centre LEGO Store to get stuff for me :). My question is the following: Can someone explain me how the Pick a Brick thing works? What kind of parts can she get me? Can she get me minifig accesories and parts? Any idea how much it costs? If someone could give me some info on it, I would be really gratefull. Many thanks, and cheers from down south!!!

Sorry and no problem. Next time I'll use the word fundamentalist, so that no one can associate it with any particular culture.

In theory, the hull piece could float, but I don't think the model would. It weights about 4 KG, so I guess it would go down right to the bottom!!!

Hi to all!!!! So, after waiting for more than a month (problems in Argentinian customs, not on the seller) I finally received this set and wanted to share with you this review. So.. let's get to it... WARNING: If you're a Lego taliban, who just can only hate competitor products and with the inhability or desire to recognise that things have changed a lot, please don't read this review, as you will surely not like it!!! :) Origin: Republic of Korea Manufacturer: Oxford Bricks Set Name: Navy Cruiser w/Chopper Set Number: NCM80000 Piece Count: many... REALLY many!!! Price: U$S 46.76.- Retailer" GMarket (kindly provided by Crossmr) The Box: The packagging is exelent, similar to what LEGO used to give us long ago and far better to current LEGO standards. The box is HUGE (55 x 43 x 9 cm), but let's take a look at it... Front: The front shows us the battleship in all of its glory, with the small chopper flying over it. Back: here we get some more nice images of the set + specifications and some play features. Opened Flap: When you lift the flap, you'll find a really nice aerial shot of the set and see the inner tray with the remarkable pieces and on the other side, the remaining pieces. Inner Box: Inside the outside packagging, we find a sturdy black box that keeps all the pieces secured. Contents: The set comes with seven hull pieces (will talk about them later) and a good selection of light gray anddark gray bricks and plates. There are also a few specialized pieces (like the ones used for the chimneys of the ship. We also find a single instruction booklet and a sticker sheet. Instruction Booklet: The printing is high quality and has quite clear instructions on how to assemble the model. No messing with colurs or nothig of the sort. One random page of the instructions Stickers sheet: Unlike other clone brands such as Enlighten, Oxford doesn't print their pieces and still use stickers, as LEGO does. Though the printing on the stickers is of really high quality, I won't be applying them, since they are paper based (not vynil based as LEGO's ones). In fact, I plan to design my own stickers, print them on vynil and the apply them. Minifigs: The set comes with eight minifigs (1 chopper pilot, 1 admiral, 1 captain and 5 sailors/marines) For those who are not familiar to Oxford minifigs, they are a bit different to LEGO ones. Though the hands and head are tha same (enabling the cross-use of both headgear and accesories), the torso and legs are different. Here's a break up of a minifig, to make it clear... Captain and Admiral Sailors and Chopper Pilot More sailors Back view of the whole crew Accesories: The set comes with two sprues with accesories. They are nicely done, but the assault rifles are of the old type, which are HUGE and completely unusable. :( The life best mold is really nice, and in fact, the new mold done by LEGO is quite similar to this one... The Hull system: The hull of the ship is made of piece in a way similar to how LEGO boats of the early '80s were made, but in a much bigger size. I find this a great way of making hulls, as it allows you to make it longer or shorter, depending on what kind of ship you want to build. The bow mould: Its pretty big, 16 x 16 studs, and has a really nice streamlined design. The middle section mould: Smaller than the first one, 16 x 10 studs, great design here too. The stern section mould: Regarding size, it's in between the first two, 16 x 13 studs, also a great design. The complete hull: it's HUGE, similar in size to the 7994's Cargo Ship. The Build: It's a really enjoyable build. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to finish the set. Here, a juts finifshing the stern section... Finished model: The chopper: It's small, similar to LEGO's choppers of the '80s, but still a nice little model. The destroyer, in all of it's glory!!! And with the minifigs... Some play features (acces to the engine rooms, though, a bit bare) Leftovers: Conclusion: This is for sure a must buy set for anyone interested in militar ships. Oxford's quality is THE SAME or even a bit better than recent LEGO bricks (reminds me of the days before they changed the way of colouring the ABS). Color consistency is of 100%, not a single change in hue. The ABS feels sturdier that current LEGO bricks, yet, it's not brittle as the plastic used by Enlighten. The price to piece ratio is geat, lots of minifigs, great packagging... what eslse can you ask for??? All these got me thinking... why does LEGO charge us so much for their products? Here, you can't come out with the old fashioned argument that "you're paying for quality". You can't either argue that you're paying for better design or packagging... As I posted in a previous topic, I really think that, if Oxford gets into the European and Unitated States markets, I can be a serious contender for LEGO. I really hope they do, since it will only mean that we will be able to get these great sets cheaper and that LEGO will be forced to continue innovating and offering us more for the same money... :) And to finish... a short story.... LEGO sailor: Excuse me admiral.. would you be willing to lend us your ship for a couple of weeks... Our father produced us, but forgot to give us something to sail in... ADMIRAL: Go megabluck yourself!!!! Tell some Danish shpyard to build you one. The proud people of Korea have built this one for us!!! But, in another area of the deck... the fellow sailor are fraternizing, shouwing us all theta IT IS POSSIBLE for LEGO and Oxford to coexist... :) And thus, the happy ending... Hope you enjoyed it!!!!

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
frogstudio replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
For those of you interested, I've posted several black falcon designs with the new heraldry My designs -
Thnaks for your comments!!! I agree that option A is the closer you can get to the originals, while option D is closer to the darker character we're getting in the Joust set. Option b was my intent in trying to follow TLG current kingdoms theme which uses mostly checkered torsos. For the time being, I don't plan to expand the designs, basically because I lack the time... but who knows.... :)
-
Thanks!!! It seems that option B is taking the lead...
-
I don't agree. To me, it's a design decision in order to keep the profile lower...
-
Thanks Luxor V for the poll!!!

Hi to all!!! When I first saw the new Black Falcon knight in the Kingdoms Joust set, as most of us, I got really exited, so I decided to design an updated version of the Black Falcons faction, using Kingdoms aesthetics and elements as a base. I've come out with 4 possible designs and wanted to share them with you. I would also like to know which one you think fits best the new line (Option A, B, C or D) If someone knows how to add a poll into this, I would be thankful. Cheers, and enjoy!!!! The Options: Digital renders of the minifigs: The idea is to use the Jeste's headwear, and paint it black instead of red, for the jester and to use black or dark brown farmer cowls for the archers and possibly for the squires. :) (just didn't have 3D versions of those) King & Jesters: Squires Soldiers And finally, the PDF file, for thos who whish to use them (print them at 100% scale, an please give credit if used) Print Files :)

Hi!!! I own several of these trians, which I bought on my last trip to china for virtually nothing... The only issue I've found is that the bricks are much heavier, adding quite a lot of strain to the motors you use... so take that into account if you plan to use them other than for display. Just my 2 cents..

They are from an Italian company and are prety good. Bought one for my niece and she is completely in love with it (they are compatible with Duplo).

I'm pretty sure the bride has the same torso that has the one that comes with the wedding topper (which really sucks, as I just ordered one yesterday on bricklink and payed 20 bucks for it!!!!!!) -
eBay user sells instructions for other builder's MOCs
frogstudio replied to Badsneaker's topic in LEGO Town
The post office is a model I designed and posted here at Eurobricks (my post) and it's certainly not me who is selling the instructions!!! This guy is not only selling instructions for my set, he's using the pictures I took from it to sell it!!!! (thus commiting a double fellony, stealing the model and then stealing the pictures, which both have property rights!!!) I've reported him on ebay and plan to initiate legal actions against him. According to his eBay listing, he has already sold 20 copies of it, thus earning U$$200 from my creativity!!! I'm really outraged!!!! Can someone advise how to begin legal actions against him? -
Yep... there's where I bought it. Have ordered a couple more set... gues they will be arriving in a week or so...

Ok... I just receive my first order from Gmarket witth this set. everything forked great!!!! Delivery time, since the moment I payed with paypal till I got my box was of 10 days ( to Buenos Aires, Argentina). everything arived in great condition, so I think that anyone interested can go for it without fear. Now, after having built the set, I can only say one thing: LEGO, you're in serious trouble!!!! I state this because the quality of this set is simply AMAZING. Plastic is of the same quality as the one LEGO uses. Color consistency is better than what you can find in most LEGO sets. Packagging is BETTER than that of LEGO products (more similar to what Lego used to give us long ago). Instructions are of equal quality to those of LEGO. And lastly, the price vs piece count + number of minifigs (which are of great quality, better than the CM minifigs and equeal to regular minifigs) is much better than that of LEGO. I know a lot of people will jump at me for saying htis, but I seriously thinl that the existance of this company is great for us, customers as it really poses a threat to LEGO's hegemony, thus oblyging them to keep working even harder (better packagging, colr consistency, creativity, ect.)

To me, it's based on an M2 Bradley Light tank, but doesn't fit any existing variation of it. The M2 is a light tank with troops transport capability and was the replacement to the old an trustable M113 (which did have an AA variant. The chasis resembles that of the M2 ( in proportion and in having a back latch for troops to get out, though in the Bradley it opens downwards and not sideways), but the turret doesn't fit at all with it (the M2 never had an AA variation. Also, after seign pics of the PGZ95 it could also be one of those, but they seem to have a lower profile... Most probably it's just a mix of all of them!!!!
-
I guess the AA tank is a Bradley light tank...

I must say that the site that Crossmr provided is really great. a bit difficult to get it at first, but it seems to work fine. I've just placed and order for the Antiaircraft tank and for the new battle ship. The price difference between buying them from this site and from a2zever in eBay was of almost U$S100!!! So, if everything arrives in good condition and as planned, it it trully a winner!!!! Thanks Crossmr!!!!
