  1. MISB El Dorado Fortress for U$S 10.- and Knight's Procession for U$S 7.- (with original box and instructions), both over the internet :)
  2. I'm in... :)
  3. For those of you interested... :) Question to LEGO Customer service: "Dear Sirs, I'm planning on buying the Giant Castle Chess set (852293)and wanted to know if it comes pre built or if pieces come in thei poly bags for one to build it. Many thanks, Gonzalo" Answer: "You will be able to build the scenery for this great new LEGO Giant Castle Chess Set, item #852293. The mini-figures/pawns will be pre-assembled but you are able to take them apart if you would like to." To me, really good news... :)
  4. Hi!!! Just to make all of you guys feel happy and fortunate... Prices for LEGO here in Argentina simply triple those of the US, not to mention that it's IMPOSSIBLE to get ANY of the big sets (Cafe Croner, Green Grocer, Town Plan Death Star, etc). Not to mention that Shop@home doesn't ship here... Only solution to get the cool sets? Buy them at Shop@home, have them shipped to a friend in Miami, have him ship the set to Argentina, paying customs import taxes (100%+ another 21% over that)... so what do you end with????? A beautifull Green Grocer for arround U$D 500.- (set price + american taxes + american shipping + shipping to argentina + import taxes) How I wished I lived in Europe!!!!! Smile guys... you are still lucky!!! PS: just a little detail I had forgotten.. an average good income here in argentina is of about U$S 700.-
  5. I will surely buy it... so at least it will two of us... :)
  6. Hi!!! Just to add some speculation (something never seen arround here :) ) If you read carefully, all 2008 sets appear in the text. Yet, if a kid tried to recreate the whole story there would be a point when he would not have one needed set... and that is... The Celebration Feast with the Joust. Minifigs for it are ready (remember the maiden and the jester in the Advent Calendar?), so my guess is that this will be the great surprise for the end of the year... maybe an exclusive set... Just my two cents... :)
  7. Hi to all you there... About the topic, I don't really understand the point in having so many repeated sets. If it's a hassle selling them (and you earn such big money as it seams) just find a nice chairty organization and donate them (and I'm talking seriously). In that way you'll help yourself and help others... Just my two cents...
  8. It CAN be right, if you consider how LEGO counts pieces. A minifig with no accessories has three pieces... then add shields, helmets, neckwear, weapons, etc... then add all the little details (technic pins, horns, flames, and all the little stuff....) when you finish, you will surely have your 2500 pieces... In models with such detail it is easy to add up pieces fairly quickly... When I made my first guess of the number of pieces, I came up with about 1800.... but I hadn't considered that, for example, skellies count 6 pieces without any type of accessory, Trolls count 8 pieces with no weapon and so on....
  9. WOW!!!! I had calculated between 150 and 200... but never saw it coming at 300!!!!! That's sad news!!!! I guess it has broken the record regarding a Castle set cost!!! Well, will have to earn a lot of money this year. Back to work I go... got to do some money :)
  10. Hi all!!!! Well these are muy methods: Unassembled models: wash them in hot water with mild soap, using an old toothbrush to scrub dust from the bricks Assembled models: a bit expensive, but I use compresses air cans, the sort used to take off dust from computer components. I
  11. Bad King: same wizard as for wave 1 Bad Queen: think it's the witch from the new Advent Calendar About the two bishops of the good guys, I think there weren't too many options. Formaly it should be the same piece... In the Evil faction, there are different colored trolls, but still the same figure. I would have prefered to get a gray and a white wizard.... but that would have been too LOTR, no?????
  12. First of all, sorry for my stark hello... Hi to everyone out there and a big greeting from Argentina!!! About the following: I came to this price by calculating the number of pieces in the se. You've got 576 black and white tiles + 1 48 x 48 baseplate + an average of 7 pieces per minigif (totaling at least 224 pieces) + an average of 10 pieces per element on the sides (that's 200 pieces more, I counted 20 of those elements on the sides of the boards) + all the stuf going on in the backs of the board and the towers (didn't count them but there must be, at least 500 pieces there) + 4 horses + luxury packagge box..... So that adds, aproximately, 1500 pieces.... Town plan count 1900 pieces cost U$S 149.99.- , but it comes in a plain cardboard box while this chess set would come in a har covered book style box, with laminated printing (I guess because of previous chess sets), some kind of closing mechanism (velcro/magnet/who knows...). That's how I made my guess.... :)
