  1. I'm getting this one, for sure!!!!
  2. Will get this one, for sure... It's simply beautiful!!!!
  3. Well, here are my choices: Boca Juniors, from Argentina, my countru Barcelona FC, from the spanish League Milan, from the otalian league and last, but not least, Manchester United, from the british league.... Yes, I love football!!!! :)
  4. I will surely get these!!!! :) (happy architect here)
  5. I contacted Arealight a few months ago about this Vespas. He said he hadn't started producing them yet, but as soon as he does, I'll be getting some, for sure!!!
  6. Integrating PF to older train sets or 9V trains is much easier that you think. Basically, you have a couple of options: 1) creating the gearing yourself and using the new PF generic motors + batery box (either the new expensive one or the old one which is bigger and requires bateries). Ading remote control capabilities is really optional (I would advise to add it, since it will allow you to control speed and to start and stop the train without having to lift the engine from the tracks in order to do so). This is how the Emerald Night works. 2) using the new PF train motor (which isn't really new, as it's the same motor that ships with the RC train sets, as the techies in LEGO told me) + batery box and remote control capabilities. So, in this case, it's pretty much the same as adding a 9V mnotor, but with the advantage that, since electricity isn't conducted via the wheels, you can put other types of wheels to the motor (the new bigger wheels or custom wheels such as Big Ben wheels) Of course, the difficulty in transformig older train sets into PF trains depends on each train. For example, the Metroliner is quite easy to convert, while other train sets are much difficult, basically due to the fact that you have to fit the batery box somewhere (which you can always fit in a tender or in a box car) If I were to start collecting trains, I would'nt go 9V as my powering system. Mainly because as time goes by, it will get more and more expensive to get tracks and replacement motors (motors at some time will die). I wouldn't go RC either (though I own both RC sets, and the cargo train is really great) as they don't allow too much MOCing (you're always limited to the shape of the baterry box base plate). I would strongly go for the PF system and get those 9V set which can be easily transformed (with the advanttage that you can find non working versions of these sets on ebay for a fairly low price, compared to getting a working one). Concerning tracks, PF trains and RC trains can run on either the newer tracks and the old 9V tracks, while 9V trains won't run on the newer tracks. About the flexi tracks, it seems that many have misunderstood the usage of this track system. It's not meant to be the sole track piece in a layout. It simply gives you the possibility to get new layout geometries by inserting some of these pieces between the regular ones. Many people have complained that they look awful, but, if used wisely, they are a GREAT addition to the track system. For those who still don't have a train... GET ONE!!!! You will never regret it. :)

    Swine Flu

Dear Talin, Global warming isn't a mania... it's simply A FACT, and we all should be worried about it. I visited the glaciars in Argentina in 2004 and this year. I was overwhelmed at how fast they are disapearing. I'd recommend you watch "An Inconvinient Truth" and inform yourself a little bit more before taking it so lightly. (http://www.climatecrisis.net/) That said, and after reading the whole post, I'm really worried that most people aren't taking this too seriously. It's true that far many more people die from common flue every year, but swine flu shouldn't be taken as a joke. The fact that the World Health Organization has raised it's alert level to 5 (out of 6) and that it's planning to take it to 6 should be enough sign that it is serious (http://www.who.int/en/). It's true that so far, things have been handled extremely well in the developed countries, minimizing the death toll. But simply imagine what would happen if it hits the underdeveloped countries, which will not have the ability to control it and provide proper medical assistance. The death toll would simply be ENORMOUS. Besides that, at least to me, this is a huge warning concerning the dangers of living in such a globalized world. Simply try to imagine what would happen if it was a desease without a cure. We should also take it seriously, since it also shows that nowadays, viruses are mutating much faster than in the past. During the last decades, we had at least 3 mutations of the flu virus, while, during the whole last century we only had 2. This should also be a warning, since mutating viruses, always tend to mutate into stronger viruses. Fortunatelly in this case, it didn't mutate into one similar to the Spanish Flu, which literally killed you in a day (you woke up fine, by mid day you were feeling with a flu and by the afternoon you were watching flowers grow from the underside!!!!). Well, I think this is pretty much I've got to say. If someone felt hurt, please forgive me... but there are certain issues in which I strongly feel we should all be more concious. Cheers!!!
  8. Just a question to anyone who really knows about trains... During which years of history would Emeral Night fit? Many thanks...
  9. Just the other day I made my yearly minifig census. Acording to my spreadsheet, it goes as follows: Total a total number of 982 Minifigs, these are the nubers for the different themes: Castle Theme: 487 City Theme: 307 Prates Theme: 70 Space Theme: 53 Other Themes: 65 I' currently analizing percentages according to occupations in my city... yes, I know... I'm nuts. :)
  10. Ok... I voted for Option 2... my guess is the monorail will be running on the new tracks used in the Temple of Doom Set. Yet, I don´t think it will come motorized. I guess they´ll do something in the lines of the Emerald Night set... Hope not... :)
  11. What I really hate is that they sell the battery and the charger separately. To me, this is a total rip off. How are you suposed to charge the battery if you don´t get the charger? This kind of "tricks" in order to make prices seem cheaper, simply blow LEGO´s reputation as a serious company away. It´s not a problem of the price itself, it´s simply the manner. Anyway, I´ve already ordered the collection and wll surely enjoy it. :)
  12. Blasphemy!!!!! Please TLC, never change the minifig!!!! Loosing the generic smiles was sufficient harm!!! :)
  13. Yes, for sure. The centre wheel of the three large wheels has a blind carriage, so there shouldn't be a problem.
  14. My guess is that it doesn't come with a motor and that this will be sold separetely, inside another wagon (perhaps a caboose or a freight one). This set is SWEET!!!!!
  15. Great stuff man!!! PM me.. I've got a Graphic Design Studio and, from time to time, we need illustrations...

    City '09?

Forget about it. As far as I know, the molds for the tracks were destroyed and that's why they will never be realesd again. Sorry.. :(
  17. Seing the new track pieces, I guess we will me getting a new monorail system in the near future. These tracks aren't usefull for the new train system, since the gauge (space between rails) seems smaller... besides, no train could take such a steep track... So.... :D
  18. That's a great explanation!!! It's an old Crowny fortress they trashed during a raid. Remember their sense o aesthetic is null.... I would also prefer it to be dark gray or with a color scheme similar to that in Vladek's Dark Fortress, but if it comes in this lighter color scheme, that's the explanation I'll use to give myself some peace of mind... :D
  19. I guess that the masses of CHILDREN buying LEGO Castle sets and PARENTS buying LEGO for their children: A)don't buy multiples of each set, B) will LOVE to have or give their kids a King minifig without having to purchase the big expensive sets. Sorry, don't mean to ofend anyone, but I'm sick and tired of hearing this kind of arguments about being an army builder and so, and on that, arguing that TLC is doing a wrong move, and, above all, ALWAYS FORGETTING THAT TLC IS A TOY COMPANY, MAINLY AIMED AT CHILDREN!!!! If you're an army builder, buy multiples of impulse sets or simply visit Bricklink, but don't expect TLC to condition a product line to your PERSONAL needs...

    City '09?

Sorry to burst your baloon, but that's the crane car of the RC Cargo Train, which also comes with a red convertible...
  21. Today I received the whole Pirate line, and I must say I was shocked. Though the sets themselves are really great, the quality of the bricks is REALLY BAD. Al bricks came in a softer than usual kind of plastic, especially whites and light grays. White bricks were even a bit translucent, and some of the had a slightly yelllow hue. I'm REALLY concerned about this and is making me think wether I'll be buying other LEGO sets. I've compared the quality of the bricks with CLONE BRAND bricks, and, to my amazement, the clones were better!!!! (didn't even bother to check them against my old LEGO bricks, as it would be TOO SAD). Has other people who bought the Pirate line found the same issue? I would really like to know. On the other hand, I received Mediaval Market Village and the bricks, in this case, where of the usual quality, and the set itself must be the best LEGO set ever... :)

  23. No, you can't... :( The back of the baseplate is slightly angled, living a gap between them. If you look at the picture that someone sent of two of them together, you'll notice it.
  24. I see buying LEGO as an investment. I'm very carefull with my sets, and, if you consider how much the price rises as sonn as a set is discontinued, it's a really good investment. :) Well.. at least that's how I lie myself and get some peace of mind... :)
