I probably won't be getting these now. The only parts that are appealing to me are the accessories and hairpieces, so that doesn't really make the cost worth it. Ya never know though, maybe the accessories and hair will show up on Bricklink for cheap! @purplepeopleeater: Your username is scaring me a little bit!

Monster Fighters 2012
purpleparadox replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I doubt they'd release another "giant spider" set after Shelob Attacks. At least, not anytime soon. At the moment, all that could do would be having the two sets taking away sales from each other. The general consumers and public won't be as likely to buy two giant spiders as, say, a giant spider and a headless horseman or something. And heaven forbid that ANY sales get stolen from LOTR! Personally I wish instead of "Monster Fighters", it was just "Monsters". I'd buy a lot more of those because no yellow-skinned minifigs would be invading my collection. I honestly don't have a use for them! I'll still buy a few MF sets, lose the yellow humans, and mix the monsters with my flesh collection. But I'd buy more if the sets were just monsters in their habitat or something. (Yes I know TLG would never do that because there's no conflict, but one can dream). Just like making torsos with no skin showing on them, releasing only the monsters would benefit a larger audience because people who prefer yellow and people who prefer flesh could both get equal use out of them. But I'll stop dreaming now. At least the Haunted House only has monsters! -
I think ACPin meant, "Which Lego store did you go to?". As in the specific city/mall that it was located.

I'd go by whatever looks best. I don't really care what the "official" way to build a set is, I just want to build it in the way that makes it look and/or function best. I'm fine with making my own modifications to sets, so neither the box nor the instructions are necessarily the way to go. I just want an awesome looking set!

Awesome interview. Funny and entertaining, but still focusing enough on ACPin and his MOCs. Now you've made me go find the other SW interviews! They're all great. And ACPin: I am a HUGE fan of your work. All it needs is fleshies.

Hi Jason! Welcome to Eurobricks. Do you like MOCing? Reviewing? Just general discussion? Whatever it is, EB is a great site for it! So enjoy, and I'll see ya around!

I've been looking forward to these since you mentioned them in a different thread. I like them a lot! Harley's Harley is great, but I really love the Bat-Buggy. It's a sweet little design. My only gripe is the dark red on the buggy...I don't see Batman using dark red. But maybe you do! Your decision. Anyway, great job. More pictures please?

Dang...I was hoping the characters would be customizable to the point where I could give them flesh skin. If it's based on the CMF franchise I doubt that'll happen. Whenever I buy a CMF I switch it to flesh tones...so this game probably won't be for me. Oh well.

Hello! Welcome to our little Lego haven, Eurobricks. Good to see you're back to the hobby. Enjoy the site!

Military/video game builder from Michigan!
purpleparadox replied to The Snake 87's topic in Hello! My name is...
Hi! Welcome to EB. Looks like you're already off to a good start. Maybe if you post these in their respective sections on Eurobricks you'll get a bit more feedback. I'd recommend getting some sort of backdrop for photographing your MOCs (blank white paper works fine). I hope to see more, and have fun here! -
That confuses me. If they were done well enough to be completely indistinguishable from official Lego parts, what's wrong with using them? I mean, if they are exactly the same as a piece made by TLG, it's just as good to me.

Great parts usage, just like I'd expect from you! The tree trunk technique is completely awesome, and so are the upside-down grass pieces. It looks like it'd be a tough one to beat! Good luck.

I looked at the first post in this topic before I checked the latest reply. THEN I saw your MOC. Then I hoped the latest reply was a bump for CUUSOO, and hurrah! It is! I love this. It's absolutely fantastic! So many great details, and it looks just like the real thing. I like the blue stripes. I hope everyone else loves it as much as I do, because I want to own this!

I made this purchase months ago, but I never posted it and I didn't built it until yesterday. I got Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter, and it's amazing! I love the minifig and all of the droid vehicles. The tactical droid is awesome. I also like Mace's version of a Jedi Starfighter. Now all I need to have all of them is Saesee Tiin's and Ahsoka's somehow...

I'm not familiar with Mass Effect 3, but the hairpieces you sculpted are neat. My favourite is the black one on the bottom. The red one is a cool shape too. I do like the texture on the yellow one but the colour is a bit too bright yellow for my taste. Good work! EDIT: Just read that you'd change the yellow putty to a different colour...it's still my least favourite of the three. I don't like the way the back looks all that much.

The Late Ivan Hoffstadter
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks for doing that! Also, I want to thank you and The Penguin for this awesome contest. I hope you know how much we appreciate it. -
Awesome MOC. You got it spot-on. I like the yellow criss-cross area and I'm glad you included the cars. The suits all look great too. I think my favourite part is Tony Stark's desk/table/computer thing. Love the shot where he's "suiting up"! Great work.

REVIEW 9497 - Republic Striker-class Starfighter
purpleparadox replied to def's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the awesome review! I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing, but you've convinced me to add this to my list of sets to buy. It's an excellent design, and the minifigs are sweet. A lot of people are complaining that they're boring, but IMO they're great. Comparing it with those ingame shots, I'd say TLG did pretty well. Maybe they used a tiny bit too much red? But it's great. Now the only problem is fitting it into my budget... -
Hello, and welcome to Eurobricks! It'll be great to see some of your MOCs. What theme do you like best? Enjoy the website!

Hi Drew, welcome to Eurobricks! It's the best place to discuss and share your ideas. I know there's a lot of people who collect the minifig series, just head over to the Special Themes section. Do you like to make MOCs? Enjoy the site!

Nice one! Sand blue looks good. I like the rounded window section on the left, and the tiled pattern on the floor. The sign's great too. Good luck!

WIP - Bane's Tactical Vest
purpleparadox replied to WetWired's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow WetWired! I've gotta say, I'm a huge fan of yours. And this is definitely no exception! It looks absolutely fantastic, just like all of your work. So detailed! I can't wait to see the finished product, and whatever you're making after this. Keep the amazing customs coming. -
Hey guys, I changed my avatar again. I like this one a lot better, and it shows my love for SW as well as my Friend-ly side. So, here it is! Stormtroopers can be Friendly too! Well, let me know what you think!
-
Nice MOC! Definitely looks modern. My favourite part is the roof. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the humor yet! Poor guy needing his pants thrown down to him. Great house!

Well...I got into Lego after the SW theme switched to fleshies. I didn't prefer either colour back then, so I'd be fine with the two mixed together. Now though, I like fleshies better. They seem more real and "alive" in a way. But this is off topic, so I'll stop now. I can see why some might want to mix them as different races in Middle Earth. I'd never do that, I'd much rather stick to the colours that the characters actually are. But if you want to mix, I'd make the Elves flesh and the Men/Hobbits yellow because Elves are supposed to be fair skinned.
