Team Alpha Community Build MOC's
Erdbeereis replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I tried out the flour idea and it didn't look too nice, it looked a bit like a tombstone but good idea anyway! Unfortunately I used all of my brown and tan round 1x1s, so I can't do that either, but I might try to do a chimney. -
I can't wait for your review! You've been doing really well with your other ones in the Academy. I'm still so excited about these sets, I feel all jumpy!

Those are some good ideas, I may try some out. Thanks for the nice comments everyone! -
What is this pirate hoodie you speak of?! One can never have enough hoodies, especially where I live!
-
Thanks for the new pics! Yoda's head looks pretty good in the new picture, and hopefully the AAT will be under $50. Vader's TIE looks good as well.

Presenting my first module, the bakery! I wanted it to have a cozy feel, so I tried to use a warm color scheme. Enjoy! Flickr Page Thanks! -
Besides the ship, the sets are very reasonably priced. I'll wait until they come out near me to buy them though. I'm very excited!

Looking good Wouwie! I like the spreading flames a lot. Plus you have lots of action which makes it very exciting. A few things you could improve are: 1) You should change "the day started out good" to "the day started out well" in your story. 2) I think it would be wise to make the pirates in the cave do something, such as holding some food over the fire to cook it. 3) Building the rocks up a bit and making them a bit more uneven would make your entry look a lot better. 4) Putting some more trees and shrubbery in would fill up the empty spaces nicely. 5) On the baseplate, you could add some animals, rocks, anything really, to liven up the entry. One thing that might look nice is a little shack full of tools. ========================================================== Nice work and good luck in the contest!

$100?! Ouch... I really hope the other sets aren't this badly priced, at least the ones Bonaparte showed us looked resonable. Did the guy say what the other prices were? But two weeks before Christmas? That's great!Hopefully that doesn't mean just TRU... I'd love to see these at Target before Christmas, now that would be a Christmas miracle!
-
If those prices are correct, they are not too bad! Lego12, of course we want reviews! As long as they are up to academy standard.
-
So you called the LEGO store there and they ship to your house? I didn't know you could do that!
-
Scary, disturbing, funny, creative, this MOC uses up way too many adjectives! Nice work Sir Nadroj! I especially like the beach ball.
-
Holy canoli! That's amazing that they are out already. It's great that shooting cannons are available in the U.S. this time around. I'm totally speechless!
-
I love it! The vocals on the pirate sound great, and the movements are very fluid. Nice work!

That's perfect! Exactly what I had in mind. I'm just about finished with the bakery and will post pictures in the next day or so. -
That's fascinating! Carnivorous plants are indeed interesting. May I ask how you won it?

Hallo Herr Der Bloedmann! Wie geht's? At least it wasn't something worse...
-
I checked my local Target today and I didn't see them. I wonder if they will come out for the holidays as sort of a stocking-stuffer? At any rate, I think they look great!

Alright, now I'm ready for some more comments! Since I already mentioned all of the fantastic things about your entry, I'll just point out some things you could improve. Some things you could work on are: 1) Putting some grey tiles on some of the exposed studs on the fort would match the smoothness in the bloody area and make it look much better. 2) Like Zorro said, I think adding some more trees in the grassy area would make it more exciting. 3) The grey 1 x 2 bricks on the fort's railing look a bit large for the spot they are in. Perhaps you could put some grey cheese slopes or round 1 x 1s there instead. ========================================================================= But like I said before, you did a wonderful job on your entry!

Welcome to Eurobricks! See you around!

I'm fine either way, but I do know that those ideas sound very interesting! The troll embassy is a really good and funny idea. Butcher sounds rather nice as well. Knocking out the boring buildings would be fine, but expanding wouldn't be bad either. -

That's great ISC! Very simple but has lots of great details and good action. I'm almost done with the exterior of the bakery, and am working on it some more today. -
That's a very interesting concept Pe668. Using microscale along with normal scale is a very bold move and is something I haven't seen too often. I love the ship, it has so many nice details which can be hard to include in such a small area. The blood in the fort area looks great as well. Before I make too many comments, I'd like to see more of an overall view, so as to see the entire thing. That way it's easier to get a feel for the entry. Looking good!

The idea of thumbnails in the first post sounds great to me. I'm getting started with the Bakery as we speak.
