That's a very entertaining entry Legojoe! I'm always fond of kitchen scenes, and this one is no exception. The beer-drinking bird is hilarious and the cannon smashing through the window is a lovely detail. The lifted up floorboards add to the look as well. You did a good job with the colors also, it reminds me of the Market Village set. Improvement Suggestions: 1) I feel that your entry is a bit cramped. Perhaps if you were to make it slightly bigger you could even add some more details and such. 2) Like Blackmoor said, the white window panes blend in quite a bit. Pearl gold, brown or black would be better suited for the job. ================================================= Besides those things, your entry really is great. Lots of funny details, some great building designs and a great idea. Very good work, and best of luck to you!

Dear all, I have sad news about my future on Eurobricks. I have decided to give up my LEGO hobby for my true passion, folk dancing, and therefore will cease to visit this great site. Thank you all for all you have done for me in my time here, I will always appreciate it. If any of you want to check out folk dancing for yourself, I urge you to visit Folkdancing.com. Thanks, and happy dancing! Check your calendar

What Does Your April Fool Do For a Living CONTEST
Erdbeereis replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Haha! This looks CRAZY! I'll try to put something together. -
Aha! That's so far ahead of what you had before. So colorful and vibrant now. It looks like one gigantic party. The Qui-Gon hair looks excellent, and I love all of the new decorations like the palms, torches and the pirate coming through the window. Great improvements!
-
I named myself after strawberry ice-cream, not strawberries. 2 very different things. Although I do like plain strawberries as well. That gets me thinking, we should have a separate thread for desserts...
-
Ah, that looks so much better! The tiles improved it much more than I thought even. Much smoother. Good luck!
-
I actually like the walls untiled. It gives some nice contrast with the smooth floor like you said.

I said some of my favorites. If I listed everything we'd be here all day.

That's a hilarious entry. You have to have the largest coin collection I've ever seen! They look excellent together with the gems, and provide a very vibrant feel to your entry. Good idea with all of the human "treasures" as well. Improvement Suggestions: 1) I agree with the others that the brown is a bit too repetitive. Luckily, that's an easy fix. For starters, I would change the window panes in the back to maybe pearl gold, yellow, or some other bright color. Hanging some non-brown things on the walls would also greatly help. 2) Just a very minor point, but the captain is a bit "standard", seeing as he's the same thing as you find in sets. I think your entry would have a more personal touch if you would perhaps use some other combination. Maybe add a plume and change the torso or head. 3) Adding some lanterns to the wall would help your entry a lot by breaking up the brown. 4) I think some better pictures would show off your entry in a better way. Try getting some large pieces of white paper or posterboard, use the macro feature on your camera if you have it, and avoid using too much flash. ================================================ Your entry really is entertaining. I definitely laughed when I saw it, and with a few added details, I think it could be even better. Excellent job, and good luck to you!

That's a nice little entry you have there. It's a nice "feel-good" story with the father and son orc, plus it has some nice interior designs. The walls are very interesting with the raising effect, and I think that turned out very well. Your little bookshelf adds some great color. That little orc longboat is simply superb. I love how it's similar to the usual model ship design but with a few "orcish" twists. Improvement Ideas: 1) I agree with ISC that it would better if the window was a bit further back, so it would be more on the same level as the door is. The way it is now I don't think you can even see out of it. 2) The black lantern on the bottom right blends in a bit too much with the floor. Perhaps having it on the wall somewhere would be best. ================================================= Overall, excellent work with you entry! The little fun details like the bed make it enjoyable to look at. Best of luck to you!

That looks much better now! The tan walls are a huge improvement. Good work!

Your entry is very nice! It certainly has plenty of action. The sinking table idea is very creative, how does it work? I'd love to see a video of it in action. Good work on making your entry "come alive" with minifig positioning. The poses are brilliant especially the hat flying off. There are plenty of nice details on the upper floor, such as the suit of armor and the lanterns. Overall a good MOC! Improvement Suggestions: 1) I frankly have no idea what's going on in the lower area. It just looks a bit too "out there" for me. It would look fine in a space-type MOC, but for Pirates it just doesn't match too well. Perhaps you could just use more pirate themed minifigs, rather than the troll and fire-suit clad men. 2) The lime-green barrels would be much better in brown I think. The fact that they are bright green pushes it more towards the space theme. 3) On the lower level, the floor might look better in a brown or tan type color, as the grey looks a bit too modern for the 1600s. 4) The upper level for the most part is excellent, but I think it would look better if the floor were a bit thinner. Maybe one level of plates and one of tiles? 5) That airline pilot torso seems slightly out of place... ========================================= I think your entry has a lot of promise, it just is slightly too mixed up, using so many modern elements. That being said, you might have been going for that effect. Regardless, you did a very good job with this, and I wish you best of luck in the contest.

Team Alpha Community Build MOC's
Erdbeereis replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ok, it's time to bring team Alpha back from the dead! Here's my first contest entry, the Fortune Teller. More pictures on Flickr. Look for my second entry soon.... Thanks! -
Good thread idea! Here are a few of mine: -Any type of curry -Spaetzle - Homemade Pizza (my mother makes the best pizza dough ever in my opinion. ) - Pasta. What I like about pasta is that there are so many different ways to have it. That about covers my favorites, but there are certainly plenty of others that I like.

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Erdbeereis replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Um, there aren't any movies in the Academy. You might want to check with your local theater. Hope to see some reviews from you soon! -
Ah, sorry Sir Dillon! I resized them, but forgot about the second part that was not 600. I'll fix that up straight away. EDIT: Ok, should be good now. Sorry again!

Thanks a lot guys!

And the award for strangest comment ever goes to.... Great review Def, I really love this set, both for playabilty and design, and also for MOCing parts. All of the bley, brown and the barrels make it a lovely parts pack.

Now that's a well-furnished entry! The furniture and accessories that you've built are simply superb, and all of the detailing on the windows and walls are great as well. Your wine shelf is mind-blowing, and can't fathom how you got the pieces in that order. All of the little details like the wig on the stand, the lamps and the chair and chest look stunning, and very realistic. Improvement suggestions: 1) Somehow the colors on the walls don't fit too well in my opinion, especially the sand green. I think sticking to the grey and some sort of brown or tan would be the best. 2) The fish on the wall would be better suited to the table I think. Perhaps some crossed swords there would be nice? ================================== Even with those minor points, your entry is excellent. Great design really makes it stand out. Good work, and best of luck in the contest!

Community Castle Build Contest Entries
Erdbeereis replied to Sir Dillon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Okay (not ok-ey) doke, I finially finished this. Here's my first entry, the Fortune Teller. More pictures on Flickr. Thanks! -
Really cool entry! Great work making it look messy. The spilled soup is superb, and your idea for falling and crooked plates is simple, yet brilliant. The whole entry has a perect piraty feel to it. Improvement Ideas: 1) In some ways your entry feels a bit too modern. Mainly the walls and floor in their grey color. Perhaps they would look better in tan or brown which look more like wood. 2) The pizza and hamburgers look slightly out of place, but that is not a big deal. =================================================== You did a fantastic job with your entry. It has some fun humor, and the cabinets and other items are excellent. Good work, and best of luck to you!

Hehe, I like it! My favorite part has to be the rocks on the left with the brown ship debris on it. Lovely trees as well. Nice as usual!

Looks good to me! Nice work on your finished result.
