Now that's impressive! Great army GA. How did you manage to collect all of these? Ebay, Bricklink? I hope to get an army of the new soldiers that's half the size of this.
-
That's fine. That's how I thought it was pronounced.

Hallo Thorsten! Welcome to Eurobricks, where I'm sure you'll love it.

Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
Erdbeereis replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I keep them, but if I have multiples of a set I just keep one. To me it's mainly because I like having the set totally "complete", I also love the images on the boxes, which just makes it too hard to get rid of them. There's hardly anything more exciting than getting a crisp new set, and I like having every element of that set in hand. However, I definitely do not intend on selling any sets. As for storing them, I used to just have them piled up, but now I stack them neatly in shelves in my storage room(so they don't get too much in the way), which almost makes it look like a library which is kind of fun. I keep instructions, catalogs and stickers in sorted files so they don't get bent. -
What parts do you wish were on PaB online?
Erdbeereis replied to jonwil's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Agreed. I'd love an easier way to get hulls, and I also would like to see sails... I wish they would give us some more pieces in colors like dark brown, dark blue etc. There are just not many there currently. -
We will indeed be getting a Pirate Advent Calendar. I'm looking forward to the Summer castle sets. They look to have some nice pieces (especially the Troll Fortress) and nice design for the most part. We're also getting some nice new minifigs.

To Minifig, or not to Minifig...
Erdbeereis replied to k_peek_2000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Like most have said, they play a large role in whether I like a certain set. For example, I thought the Agents Turbocar Chase was a pretty nice set, especially for pieces, but I already had at least one of each of the minifigs included so I decided against it. I feel that unless a set has at least 1 minifig that I don't have, it's hard to pick it over something else. That being said, if a set has great pieces for MOCing, even if it doesn't have the best minifigs I'll still love it. Overall, they definitely matter to me. -

That is mind-blowing! It's so...sparkly! The rest of the MOC is also outstanding. Just look at the stunning details around the windows. Nothing to say but. wow. Nice find! -
Guss - 3 I Scream Clone - 3 Patriot720 - 1 What a great contest, with many lovely entries! Guss's entry gets 3 of my points. His entry had many lovely details such as the chains keeping the cannons in place, the wonderful bed with colors matching the rest of the entry and the desk. His piano was another brilliant touch; it's one of the best LEGO pianos that I've seen. What really made his entry stand out to me though was the overall color scheme. The fantastic light blue, brown and tan SNOT floor matched perfectly with the little stripe in the walls, and also with the colors of the bluecoats' uniforms. It made the entry fun to look at. I Scream Clone's entry gets another 3 of my points. Certainly one of the most creative entries, it was also full of fun things to look at, and great building techniques. ISC's entry captured the shipwrecked look superbly with the jagged planks, and all of the sea creatures lurking inside like the sea snail and those vicious looking fanged thingies. Like Guss's piano, ISC's organ was outstanding. I have never actually seen a LEGO organ, and seeing this one has set the standards very high. Lastly, using Kit Fisto's head for Davy Jones was very smart, and is definitely as accurate as you can get while using official parts. A top-notch entry! Patriot720's entry gets my final point. One thing I loved about his entry was the clean, smooth look it had. The 3 different levels made the entry interesting to look at, and it had some nice minifig posing as well. His SNOT floor was lovely and the little details like the well-built fireplace, the crossed swords and the model ships were great as well. ============================================================ Honorable Mentions: oo7's entry had some outstanding furniture. I especially loved the wine rack. Gettobread's entry was a very creative idea, which was well made. The spilled soup and falling plates were beautiful. Dr. Steve's entry made me laugh. Enough said. 74louloute had the coolest feature with the rotating figure and the pirate going in and out of the barrel. ========================================================= Finally, many thanks to Eurobricks and Classic-Pirates for the outstanding contest. It was a fantastic event.

No one I associate with has any problem with my LEGO hobby. My family really likes it, and they even help me with MOCs sometimes. My little brother loves LEGO as well, and I always have fun building with him. My family and I always have fun at Christmas putting up our LEGO train around the tree together, sort of our tradition. They think that LEGO is a great hobby to have, because it's good for your head in a way, figuring out ways to build different things. My writing and typing have also improved since I started writing reviews and such. 2 of my cousins like LEGO as well (although not to the same extent as me. ) and they always enjoy coming to my house to build together and look at my MOCs and sets. I'm homeschooled, so I haven't had much exposure to other people not liking other's hobbies, but none of my friends think it's bad at all. They don't really care one way or the other I think.

Better watch out.
-
Yeah, that's how most people seem to think it's pronounced. They always think it has to do something with beer. The first part is actually pronounced more like Aird (As in Air), rather than Ehrd (as in turd. )
-
Hmmm... Tough to explain except for Germans. I'll try. Ehrd-bear-ice. That's the best I can do for an explanation.

Have a fantastic day! May all of your wishes come true.

I think that's what makes this special. It looks like a seaside village building or something. It doesn't need to perfectly match TLG's sets. One thing that might look nice and add a different dimension to the top floor would be to make the windows stick out one or two studs, so it's more prominent.

Beutiful MOC Otters! The design elements on the exterior are superb; I especially like the clams. Add to that the superb interior and you get a fantastic creation. I love it!

Welcome to our friendly community Siegfried! If you work hard, who knows, you may become a staff member someday. Enjoy yourself!

What a great story! I always kind of enjoyed that show as well, and you did a lovely job with that mosaic. I bet it was pretty cool to sort of "see yourself" on T.V.

Have a great time JimButcher! I'm sure you'll enjoy Europe, I know I always do. We'll be waiting for you when you get back.

Mmmmm, that looks lovely IS.

Can't believe I forgot Pfannkuchen (German word for Crepes)! Some cinnamon sugar and whipped cream inside = YUM! I also like using them for sort of a quesadilla type thing with mozzarella and red bell pepper spread fried in a pan.

Wow, great price for the Volcano Base! Too bad that offer's no good for the U.S., I simply love this set and I'd love to get another for that price.
