Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Etzel replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
Björn Torsson (Etzel) is ready to fight for the Northern Guild's honour and victory. -
Since when weren't there? It's not like they didn't have glasses during the Middle Ages so why not in a fantasy world?

Quite recently: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58807&view=findpost&p=1109465

There has been 30 sets with white flags in them, and they are really cheap on Bricklink. Go get yourself some! I like the idea of only having one colour though and using a second as faction indicator.

Here are some suggestions on flags for the different guilds: North: Blue and White West: Green and White South: Red and Gold East: Black and Dark red North: Dark green and White West: Dark blue and Gold South: Yellow and Green East: Sand green and Red North: Red and White West: Yellow and Blue South: Green and Red East: Black and Yellow When I look at them now I realize that the option I would like most is not there. It would be the third option but change South to Yellow and Green and East to Black and Red. Anyway, I guess everyone will have different opinions about this so maybe the Guild leaders should choose by themselves.

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

Looks like the Northern chill could use some more strength, I'm on it. -
Maurice returned to the Heroica Hall after taking a walk through the city in the morning. Even though he had been up all night fighting spectres and wights, Maurice didn't feel very tired but more relaxed and happy about life. The near death experience in his quest and it's tragic solution had made him feel humble about his role in the world. He was just a small pawn in the game of the gods and he was thankful that Ennoc, the Righteous Light, had stood him by. Inside the hall there were both old and new heroes gathered. Some had gathered around the Quest board so Maurice walk over to see what was to be found there. "Three different quests open for sign up. Hm, those Ziegfrieds are always experimenting with magic, I'm not sure I want to get too involved with that kind. Using all those different kinds of elements isn't right when we have the superior light to guide us all. But the Bonapartes are an honourable family as far as I've heard. Helping them catching a pirate sounds like just the thing Ennoc would bless." Maurice signed up for Quest #15: Hoisting Down the Jolly Roger. He then walked up the stairs to the Saloon where other heroes had gathered round drinks and breakfasts.

Sounds like something the QM could handle much easier by him/herself then having to make up a whole new game function. I'm sorry but I don't see the advantages of your suggestion.
-
Sounds complicated. One more thing to always keep an eye on and getting numbers right. Isn't it better if just the QM decides when the heroes have to rest?

Etzel, at your service. -
Since what Jebediah did only effects his own quest I can't see any wrong in it. That is just a way of streamlining your quest for the heroes that participate. It's not unfair, it's good roleplaying from the QM I think.

After Maurice Ratibor had left the Academy of Enlightenment he decided that he would check out the Marketplace right next to it. The rewarded gold from his quest could come of use there. The blacksmith dwarf Smokebeard was rearranging some of his displayed weapons when Maurice walked up to him. "Good morning blacksmith. I've got a job for you. Please merge this light-elemental diamond into my steel mace, and see if you can make it somewhat better to wield also. I've had some trouble with it, I think the balance might be a bit wrong." The dwarf looked at the mace and diamond and told Maurice that it could be done. It would cost him 50 gold for the gem merging and 40 gold for fixing the balance problem with the mace. Maurice paid the blacksmith a total of 90 gold, leaving him with 115 gold in his pouch. He then took a walk and looked at the other market stands while his weapon was reforged by the dwarf. The peculiar wagon caught Maurice's interest and soon he found an interesting object in the green skinned woman's store. "Excuse me Madame, what do you take for this Scroll of Sleep?" "50 gold my good man, and it's possible to use it unlimited times" "Hm, it seems rather worn. Are you sure it's not going to burst into flames after the first time?" "It most certainly will not! I only sell top quality items in my shop!" Maurice looked askance at the old skeleton back in the wagon but didn't say anything. Instead he paid the 50 gold he was asked for and got the somewhat worn but apparently fully functional scroll. He now had 65 gold left. "Thank you very much sir. I'm happy that one of you heroes from Heroica finally showed up and bought something from me. Please tell your friends about me." Maurice then walked back to the blacksmith and picked up his new Diamond-infused mace (WP:4, light-elemental). During his walk home through the city the morning light blazed in the diamond's facets and Maurice felt like he was surrounded by the divine power of Ennoc, the light that reveals everything. He had learned so much during his first quest and was already feeling eager to join another.

Thank you Sandy for an excellent quest! I enjoyed playing it very much. Oh yeah, we were sure close on failing though. That mirror battle will go to the history! I'm so happy we got Jebediahs and that he got his loaded die. After that every battle seemed much easier, and I think we did the right choice when killing of the Wight before the Colossi. One near death experience per quest is enough, I think.
-
Yeah, it took a while to make it sound right.

Maurice turns to the provost. "Provost Darlavon Lector, this mission you sent us on proved to be very exacting, both physically and mentally. But we managed to find the cause behind the vandalism and if you follow our suggestions I believe you will be spared from any more. The acts of vandalism were caused by a Wight that with its powers also controlled several other spiritual creatures that caused chaos in the Academy, including a giant basilisk snake. Vandalism were made during this night as well, we couldn't stop that from happening because of the magical nature of our enemy, but just before dawn we were able to directly confront the Wight and defeat it. During our search for the Wight we discovered several interesting things in the Academy, but also a very tragic one; the remains of your student Isabeau Carpenter. Apparently no one of either staff or students in the Academy (with one exception) even noticed that she was missing. That is nothing other than a huge scandal from your side, provost. Even more so as it turns out that Isabeau was constantly harassed and bullied in the Academy. We strongly suggest that you compensate the Carpenter family for their uncompensateable loss and also sets up a plan for eliminating any types of bullying in the Academy. Your students might be from the noble and rich families in Eubric, but they clearly need to be teach empathy and sympathy just as well as astronomy and economics and whatever. If you don't do these things I promise you that the Academy of Enlightenment will have a hard time finding heroes for any other missions you need help with. If you want a start with teaching your students some humility I suggest those to boys over there. Young masters Hinckwell and Shadeaux sneaked into the Academy tonight in an own futile try to solve the mystery. I suggest you have them clean the lavatory in the East wing and bring up Isabeau's remains from the sewer right below. And tell them that they are getting away cheap with that. Finally, you should give a pay rise to your night guard Jensen who turned out to be just as honourable and loyal as you claimed. He was petrified by the basilisk early in the night, but we remedied him back and after that he helped us in our quest in the most extraordinary way." Maurice then sighs heavily after the long monologue. -
No, if I still have them I want to donate them to the Library. (seems weird I still got them though )
-
I sure liked it as it is during the latest battles. But yeah, I see your point. What about making it a 50/50 chance between getting a Special damage or Special guard? It would require an extra die throw but otherwise I think that would be a good compromise.

Heroica RPG - Quest#10: Extra-Curricular Activities

"I rather tell him too little then too much. Information is good to have, and if you are the only one to have it it's even better. Besides, he already know about the scribblings. Those were part of the reason he contacted Heroica in the first place. We got a mission to investigate the reason behind the acts of vandalism here and catch the offenders. The wight is less likely to return if we make sure those who were responsible for her tragic life and death are punished. Therefore we must set an example to the provost and the Academy by making sure they take care of their bullying problems." Maurice takes the diamond from Nur with much reverence. "Thank you very much Nur. I hope this gem of light will cast away the shadows of bad luck that followed me during much of this quest. I also hope I will be able to join you in other adventures in the future, it's been an honour questing with you my friend! And with you also Erdathcath and Alf!" -

Maurice speaks to his party without the provost overhearing. "I think we should tell him that the act of vandalism were caused by a Wight, but not tell who the Wight used to be. I'm afraid the Academy might try to sue poor Isabeau's family for the damages then. We should tell him we found Isabeau's body in the sewers under the Academy, probably killed by that troll we slay. The Academy's failure to even notice that she was missing is a very unpleasant thing for the provost I figure. Therefore we should be clear about that the Academy needs to go through a lot of changes in their bullying policy if they ever want to be able to get help from Heroica again. The Shadeaux and Hinckwell boys should have a minor punishment for sneaking into the Academy during the night, but nothing too mean. Cleaning the lavatory in the East wing and bringing up Isabeau's remains should be enough to teach them the lesson I think. Finally, we should propose that Jensen gets a pay rise for his great achievement during the night. What do you guys think about that?" -

"What a team we are! Great fighting everyone!" "Is there anyone who actually want the Thorny Diadem? I'm not that interested in a self-harming object. Erdathcath, will you take the Snake Eye Charm? I think you deserve that." Maurice let out a sigh as the battle was over. They had survived yet another time. But the tragic solution of the quest put a damper on his joy over the victory. -
But if you get a magic burst it won't do damage to the statues Maybe the Aquamarine would be a better choice. But if you want to focus on the roleplaying for your character I'm fine with that too

Mafia School: Cirque du Freak conclusion

Because darkdragon posted in the C&D topic about night action and badboytje made me aware of that. -
Those weapons were indeed pretty. But I'll rather live to see another quest then die clutching the WP:10-Pulsar Sceptre to my chest. oh and Jebediahs, why earth spell?

The description of the deity Ennoc in the Library has a good clue for one of them.
