When coming with names for the Paladin Order I usually take Biblical names and alter a few letters, like Lord Kapriel (Gabriel), Alisameth (Elisabeth), Miekhal (Michael), much like George R.R. Martin does is his books. But some are just random names that I can't remember how I got.

"My name is Maurice Ratibor. I can see that you are an experienced hero, despite your reach, I'm sure we have some common friends amongst the other heroes." Maurice sighed as the ranger placed his bets. Just as that block-headed Nord that he had quested with before, this ranger didn't seem to resist the temptation of gambling, and on top of that he placed a bet that he could only at best get his own gold back. "If you're going to gamble you might at least try to win some money. Just bet on one of the colours."

Maurice watched as Captain Whales and Denerii discussed the conditions of the travel. He gave himself a reminder to stay alert whenever talking to Whales, that captain didn't seem to play by the rules in his attempt to gain more gold and treasure. Hopefully the journey would be free of any embarrassing incidents. Maurice decided to talk some with the first mate, Thimlin. "Greetings Thimlin, my name is Maurice Ratibor. So, coming directly from Shelbric I've heard, what goods are you shipping?"

Maurice let the other members in his party speak first so that he would be able to judge them. As party leader it was important to know the strengths and weaknesses of each member. Especially since the mission they were heading out on seemed to be a quite dangerous one. Not only were they supposed to take on a dragon, but a wounded or sick dragon. It was hard for Maurice to imagine a more discouraging situation, but he was not going to show any despair. "Before we set out I do have a question. Do you have any idea how this dragon has been infected? Is there a risk that it spreads to more dragons?" OoC. Terribly sorry for my delay!

I'm a bit different when it comes to building sets for Quests since I often build complete MOCs for the scenes. Totally unnecessary, I know, but I like to build. But I do build a lot of scenes which are just a backdrop with enough area to fill a photo. I've found out that it's always nice if you can keep your builds together during the Quest to be able to quickly get some extra scenes if the players are doing something unexpected, but it's not totally necessary. Often it's much more practical to reuse the pieces and build new scenes, especially if you are running short of specific pieces. I would recommend Bricklink to build up on your stock supplies of 1xn bricks and tiles in grey, dark grey, brown, and plates in green and tan. They are cheap and easy to find in large quantities. You'll get so much more good pieces by buying from Bricklink than e.g. buying a new Chima set for the same amount of money. Sure, you'll miss out on some cool minifigs but you'll be able to build 100 different scenes that will work for 100 different minifigs. I should say too, that even though building whole MOCs are often unnecessary it can be quite useful sometimes. Being able to take pictures of a scene from many different angles can bring it more to life.

With his meditation and contemplation completed over at the Temple of Ennoc, Maurice Ratibor the Paladin returned to the Heroica Hall. He felt ready for new adventures and the quest note that mentioned a dragon threat in the distant land of Dastan got his attention. The tales of the mystical Dastan had always intrigued him and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to experience it by himself. He didn't knew much about those "Rito"-people but their likeness to angels were enough to catch his interest. Maurice Ratibor signs up for Quest #59.
