1. Set Number/Name: 7955 Wizard Theme: Castle/Kingdoms/Dragon Knights Year Released: 2010 Pieces Count: 19 Minifigures: 1 & a baby dragon Price: 2,99 € I know that there has been made a review of this impulse set already, but i thought i'd share my own one aswell, since i was in the mood of taking pictures. I hope it's alright. (Edit: can a mod please fix the under-title of the review? I end up talking about the mistake in the spell text, and then i'm making a mistake myself too ) Box, parts & instructions: After opening the huge box, a massive amount of parts and thick, heavy instructions poor out of it: Overall view of the completed set: The wizard: "Arrgh! Someone shaved my beard off and stole my hat and all my torso details! There must be another magician!" Special parts: The printed 2x2 tile with the mysterious spell (inclusive grammatical mistake?) on it: And of course the lovely baby dragon! (or is it just a shrunken dragon?) Not much to say about the set, other than: This is how a proper impulse set should look like. You get an exclusive, great minifig (where the only thing to bother would be the not printed torso), a rare baby dragon, plus the also exclusive printed spell tile. 9,5/10 from me (0,5 less, because of the torso).
2. That's my plans too. The problem is that i am running out of space to show off all of the more or less recent sets.
3. Just tried to get a comparison picture, and it worked out pretty well. On the left is a fig from the battle pack and on the right the one from the siege cart promo set. Face the difference! I also provide a little video to demonstrate how easy for example a shield falls off from the hand of a fig from the battle pack. I hope it can show at least a bit how easy it comes off. Don't forget to have the sound on to hear how smoothly it slides in and out the hand. <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk3enrsqR7Y">
4. Yeah, the price really is not acceptable at all. I'm glad i ordered just one set cause i wanted to see such a battle pack myself for once, but i don't need another one. I have the feeling that the plastic from the packaging actually maks more percentage of the price, than the figs themselves.
5. I tried that before, but i myself couldn't tell much difference on the picture (though it IS visible when you look at them in reality). I'm gonna try it once more again tomorrow though, when i have better light. Btw., the cape is black.
6. I don't know about the other colors, but there were a few horses with dark grey saddles i the previous castle sets.
7. At This site. I'm really glad that someone (sorry, don't remember who it was) posted the link here on the board. Thank you very much! This is an awesome online store. They charge a bit much shipping costs, but the shipping was incredibly fast, and i even got a free set as i said. I think that will be the place for me to order new lego sets from now on.
8. Set Number/Name: 852922 Dragon Knight's Battle Pack Theme: Castle/Kingdoms/Dragon Knights Year Released: 2010 Pieces Count: *have still yet to count them myself* Minifigures: 5 Price: 12,99 € I was lucky to receive my little package of new items before the weekend, so as promised, here i bring you the review of the brand new Dragon Knight's battle pack! All the cast together: Don't they look fine at first sight? Let's go a bit more into detail... Detailed views: These are prett much the "standard" guards with the helmets we already know. The adding of the fire piece is pretty nice. These are the brave knights with the great new helmet. I like the look of the guy without armor, he looks kinda like a leader to me with his cape. Here are some more pictures from the armoured knight and the helmet: Last but not least, the accesoires you get wuth this set: Everything quite awesome so far isn't it? But now onto the negative side of the battle pack: The quality. This is an issue that really overshadows the purchasing of this set a bit for me. First of all as you might notice from some pictures, there is clearly a different, less "glossy" or "shiny" kind of plastic used for the torso and legs of the figs. Second, while the printing is spot-on and nothing to complain about there, and the hands stay in place in the arms just like they should, the weapons tend to fall out of the hands easily, and also i noticed the legs are much easier to move like on normal figs. That can be a bit annoying, since they always move when you touch the figs. All in all, this set brings us some great new figs and a nice amount of shields and accesoires, but if you like the figs to look exactly like the ones in normal sets, this battle pack isn't for you. It doesn't bother me that much, but i can see that someone that wants the highest possible quality, will be disappointed with it. Hope that helped, tell me what you think about it folks!
9. I just opened the battle pak, and unfortunately there is a noteable difference in quality to normal figs. Though, the printing is very good i must say. But i saw at the first sight, that the plastic beeing used is different than on normal figs. It's less "glossy" somehow. Also, the weapons tend to not stay very well in place in the hands, and on one fig the legs move too easy. More on all that in the review later.
10. Christmas just came early to me! Well..kinda So glad the stuff arrived before the weekend. Gonna do a review on the battle pack later today. I was quite amazed when i opened the package, that they actually gave me an extra 30061 promo set for FREE!
11. All i can say to this is that i'm glad i was able to even afford one set
12. Probably TLG decided to add a touch of "peace" in some sets. Like, that they wanted to show the children that the knights don't neccesarily always have to fight against each other...do you know what i mean? I don't know, but i could see that as a possibility.
13. Well, the overall castle theme hasn't ever really stopped once since it was introduced, so i'm positive it won't stop in the near future. We might see several other sub-themes over the next years, but it certainly won't be stopped. And with the quality of recent sets, i'm really looking forward to the future.
14. Yeah, i also stated that in my review. You could be right asbout that they didn't want to make a new shield, but rhere's something else interesting. In THIS set the dragon knight also has a black knight shield, but a big one. That makes me think that the 2 faction might actually be related to each other in some way.
15. Well, i ordered the fortress a week or 2 ago at amazon.de and it was 97 euro (so it seems i actually got the 90 wrong then..) and i ordered the new castle yesterday at spielwarenkontor24 and it was 99 euro. Looks like lego prices will always stay a big mystery...
16. To be honest, i don't really know what you want? Do you want to exchange the lion's minifigs in the new castle to older figs? Then just buy the castle and get some older minifigs on ebay or bricklink.
17. Well, the new castle has about 100 pieces more, and i think the design of it is outstanding, so i think the price is kinda justified. I got the troll's fortress for about 90 euros, and the new castle is around 100 from what i've seen.
18. This is a review thread, i think everyone can add something to it, no matter if its 1 day or 1 year old. Also, why does it matter for you if it's on page 47 or on page 1?
19. I recently got this set finally, before that i alsow a s abit let down by the lakc of interior, but i found that this is easy to solve. You don't even need to mod anything..the weapon stands and barrels you built at the beginning fit in the spare rooms behind the rocks just perfectly. I actually think they are meant to go there, but the instructions don't show it. So you see..no problem with the interior anymore
20. I noticed from the instruction, that there is actually a little table with goblet inside the gatehouse. That's the first time ever that there is any interior in a castle gatehouse, that's really nice!
21. Well, there's a lot of good designed castles. In my top 5 are for sure 6085 black monarch's castle, 6086 black knight's castle, 6090 Royal Knight's Castle, and the 2 more recent castles. But it's really hard for me to decide which one would be the best, as every of these has it's plus points. There are also a few castles, that i like more for their play features and interior as for the design, for example 10176 king's castle, which has really nice details like the blacksmith area in the "cellar" of the castle.
22. To give you a heads-up, i just saw that all 2010 instructions are now up. They are to be found under "castle", though.
23. You mean the print that doesn't exist in this picture. Yeah it's prelim, cause we've already seen pictures of how the figure really looks like, and it actually has printed legs and hat.
24. That's fantastic! The sets fit together very well. Also it looks like your sets are in an awesome condition. Did you get all of them MISB?
25. My order at spielwarenkontor24 has been shipped today! Hopefully the stuff arrives before the long weekend. Gonna check out my local stores in the enxt days if they start to appear here aswell.
