  1. I think that's not possible, cause castle simply hasn't got such a wide variety to have many different "subthemes". There was no police, firemen or such stuff in the medieval times. The main thing was the medieval civilian life, and knights that were fighting. A possible subtheme could be something where they focus on the life on sea in the medieval age, with ships and harbours and so on. Another one could be civilian sets (which we start getting now), and then various factions of fighting knights (which we also have already).
  2. The weapons can't be preliminary, because if they would be changed, they also would have to make whole new molds (which are very expensive tools) for them, and they'd never do that.
  3. It all depends on what kind of sets TLG is planning to make next. This theme has TONS of potential, if only it is used the right way. Thy could make dozens of different civilian sets, first of all. Also, they can add at least 2 more "fighting" factions, and other forestman/wolfpack thmed factions. It worked this way for more than 10 years when castle first started, i can't see why it wouldn't work a second time, especially not with all the new parts and possibilities that are available nowadays. I know that this is the opinion of an AFOL, but i'm pretty sure that kids would also love a more reality-based theme. We had fantasy elements now for about 15 years, it surely can't be bad.
  4. The weapons aren't preliminary, they are actually made for the new heroica board games. I'm 99,9 % sure they are only included in the blacksmith set, so the blacksmith has a big variety of different "products" to show off. They're more supposed to be just displayed, than be "real" weapons.
  5. Despite the lack of interior in the farm house (which can be solved easily anyway), i really love the mill set The inside of the mill looks great, just like a real mill I'm really looking forward to put this and the blacksmith set next to my MMV, i bet it'll look great.
  6. I also was wondering about the technic pin on the side, and i think that there might be a door in the second floor, and pulling out that pin might open it.
  7. it also seems like the cabin is open with no door. or, that there even is no actual cabin at all...
  8. In THIS picture it looks like there is nothing at all inside the house from the mill set, that's really a shame There are a few more pictures of the new sets here: http://popculturenetwork.com/mediagallery/album.php?aid=718&sort=0&page=8
  9. Well the mill set is no special exclusive set like MMV, so it doesn't bother me much that the mill is rather small. As much as i would have also loved if it was extremely detailed with lots of parts, but then it would have been much more expensive aswell. Actually i think everything in this set is just right, it's a normal set, and for that it is perfect.
  10. Who said that the dragon knights where the "bad" guys and the lion knights the "good" ones? Actually, in the medieval age there were always fights between kingdoms, i don't think anyone can say that one faction is good and another bad.
  11. Boy, those look amazing The mill set is just lovely And am i seeing that the mill actually has a mechanisn inside?
  12. My god, none of those sets is anything less than amazing. All those new pieces, i think i'm dreaming! Actually i only collect castle stuff anymore, but i just NEED those. All of them. NOW. Thanks a lot for those great new pictures, at first i was sceptical but with these new ones i'm totally sold on this theme.
  13. you can judge that from only ONE picture, that's also quite small?
  14. It would be interesting, if the quality of the battlepack figs actually has improved. But, last summer i made a review of the dragon knights battle pack, and on page 2 i posted a comparison picture of a "normal" fig and a battle pack fig, and explained the difference in quality. You may want to check it out here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42598
  15. All it says there is, that Shia LaBeouf hasn't been signed to do 3 more films. Not any word that there won't be more films at all.
  16. I disagree that the kingdoms line is similar to the last castle line. IMO it's much more similar to the old classic castle theme, than it is to the fantasy era. The design is obviously different than 20 years ago, but other than that, in terms of factions and all that stuff, the new theme is very old school (which i like). And of course, since we now have a non-fantasy themed theme, there is the great opportunity to introduce a civilian subtheme, since everything in the kingdoms line is purely human so far.
  17. This set is awesome in every case. It has all that a bank needs, and the interior is very very nice, which is always a good thing. If i'd still collect city sets i'd totally buy it! Thanks for the great review!
  18. I converted the price to both USD and Euro (even though we all know that the prices will be different everywhere, as always...): 6918 Blacksmith Attack - 15.40 USD / 11.70 Euro 7187 Escape From Dragon's Prison - 31.60 USD / 24 Euro 7188 King's Carriage Ambush - 69.5 USD / 52.90 Euro 7189 Mill Village Attack - 116 USD / 88 Euro
  19. thanks for the news clouette! those prices seem pretty alright to me. i can't wait for more photos!
  20. Whatever it is it is definitely not small, i'd say it's a bit smaller than king's castle, by the size of the box.
  21. Thanks for the picture Darth Jar Jar! That looks pretty interesting. IMO it's definitely not the king's castle, the only similarity really is the red roof of a tower, but the rest looks totally different. it looks somewhat like some kind of smaller outpost or even an add-on for the big castle. It's funny, some days ago we were worrying if the line even continues, and now we get quite exciting news about civilian sets and maybe even more!
  22. All i say is: Star Wars
  23. You're geting every set EXCEPT the mill? Why is that, it's the best set out of them all I'll for sure get every of those new sets. Even the king's carriage looks awesome, it's a lot better than the last one. And i can't wait to put the mill village side by side on display with my MMV
  24. here are much better pictures, it's actual scans of the catalogue (even if the resulution still is not that high, but still better): http://www.flickr.com/photos/57449914@N04/with/5288344749/
  25. I see it, but i don't believe my eyes...TLG is really releasing civilian medieval sets! I'm so happy about this, this is like a dream come true! What a great surprise shortly before christmas!
