It was ahard decision but i voted for the new green wizard. It's only because of the colour though, my eye just is pleased more with that dark green. When the advent calendar is out wouldn't it be cool to make a comparison review of all 4 magicians from the past few years? I'm getting the green one shortly, then i'll have all except the one from the calendar. Once it's out, i'll take a few pictures of all of them.

Could you take a picture of the fig? I'd really like to see how much the pink in the white is. I probably wouldn't even notice it, i always thought people are a bit overly picky on these things.

Kingdoms Battle Packs Discussion

I read in another thread i believe, that TLG stated that no sets at alla re produced in china, only special seperate parts. -
That looks pretty good. Though, i wouldn't put the falcon's fortress in there, since it belongs to a different faction, and also a drawbridge going inside doesn't make much sense. I'd attach all the lions sets and falcon's sets seperate, that way it fits better i think.

Soa s you probably all know there were plenty of castle sets in the 80's, that could easily be attached to each other, they all featured wall segments that would fit to the bigger castles. Has anybody that owns all these sets ever tried out to make one big castle out of them? I would really love to see some pictures, if anybody ever did it.

Magic in Lego Kingdoms; what role does it play?
metalandi replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Speaking of flick fire missiles..there are none in any of the new sets i noticed. I don't hate them, but it's also a welcome change that they seem to be gone. -
In REAL LIFE? You must be really old, cause that would mean you must have lived in the mediaval age. Just kidding, but i'm still pretty sure they aren't meant to be "real" unicorns. The horses back then hadf all kinds of headgear, i wouldn't be surprised if there was a unicorn-ish headgear aswell. Since hundreds of years there are fairytales about unicorns, so i could definitely see that horses got decorated like that in some parts of the world.

Contact the customer service. I'm sure they will send you a replacement, and if you're lucky you amy even get more than one.

I kind alike both. The lego one seems a bit wider what i prefer, but the brickforge one has the seperate eye slots, which i prefer aswell, so both have their positives and negatives. I really like that brickforge shield though.

Kingdoms Battle Packs Discussion

i couldn't wait and just ordered the dragon's battle pack along with the green magician and the jester at spielwaren-kontor24. Can't afford more right now, and the shipping costs are pretty high too. As soon as i have the sets i'll be doing reviews of them. -
I only own the original version of the guarded inn, but i'd really love to have all these 3 in their re-released verison. I voted for Black falcon's Fortress because i always wanted this set ever since i saw it first. The addition of the "living area" in form of the "tower" in the back is such a nice touch. Too bad there was not much interior in the sets back then, but that could be easily modded.

There's another site that ahs the battle payks. They also only ship to 4 countries, though: http://www.spielwaren-kontor24.de/Lego/LEGO-Kingdoms

Chekc out this topic and scroll down a bit: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42151 -
No, the confusion was about something other (i think) I was writing "hinge" in the review because i didn't know the name of the piece. But i was actually talking about this piece: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/4623 It's in front of the prison door, so it can't be opened.
-
Sorry, what i meant with hinge is that grey 1x2 plate with the..thing on it. I just don't know what it is exactly called like.
-
It isn't a unicorn. It is a horse with unicorn headgear. It's only "decoration" for the horse in my opinion. Btw. if you don't like it you always can take that horn off..that's not too hard
-
No. Thats just a normal 2x2 brick under the prison door. Those are everywhere between the brown corner wall pieces to hold them together.
-
Where do you see a hinge piece? There is none.
-
I don't really think you can compare these 2, the PoP castle is froma totally different time and part of the world. But i'd say they are pretty much equal. I still prefer the castle-castle ( ) personally..but that's just ebcause i'm more into castle than other themes.
-
And after all that we should rememebr that lego still is a toy, and not a collectors item designed for adults.
-
You mean the piece in front of the prison door? Yep, that's how it says in the instructions. They obviously used that piece cause you get it off better than a normal 1x2 plate.

Thanks for the information. Btw., who rated this set "poor"?

Set Number/Name: 6079 Dark Forest Fortress Theme: Castle/Dark Forest Year Released: 1996 Pieces Count: 464 Minifigures: 7 Price: You should be able to get a used set for less than 100 euros on ebay. This is the biggest set out of the only 3-set-strong dark forest theme, and the second one i own from this line. About 2 years ago i was lucky enough to get a brand new an sealed copy off ebay! Can you believe that? It's pretty rare you find this set at all, and then even sealed, it's almost impossible, so you can imagine i was quite happy about that. Let's have a closer look at the still shiny and new goodness! The Instructions: The Minifigs: We got a cast of 7 figs here in total, 2 dragon knights, 4 dark forestmen and a skellie. That's a pretty good amount for a set that size, and the best is that you get all forestmen of this theme in this set! Accessoires: As in all bigger sets of that time period, there is a healthy dose of weapons and accesoires included. Overall views of the Set: Doesn't it look nice? I really like the baseplate and the usage of brown pieces to resamble trees and wood. Detailed views: What i also love about this set are the little details everywhere, such as this hideout with the blue window piece: One "floor" above, is a little prison. Other than in some recent sets (i tell no names ) there is no way to escape from it, it even has a 1x2 piece with hinge on the bottom to prevent the door from opening: Of course there are a few play features aswell, such as this mechanism, that enables you to put the big tree down... ...to reveal the backstage area! We got a little table with a goblet and a barrel there, and on the left side to it there's some space for the forestmen's horse to rest: Of course the obvious catapult can't be missing..we're experiencing very new techniques here though! Last but not least, the wagon of the dragon knights. An interesting detail here is, that from the box art it seems like the knights are actually helping the forstmen, as one of them is loading up the catapult. Also, there is a shield from the black knights included - there's some unsolved mysteries in this set, as you can tell! You can open the upper part of the wagon to reveal some secret space to hide items: Conclusion: I've heard some negative opinions on this set, but for me it is absolutely awesome. Mayb eit's because i managed to get a new and sealed version of it, but i think it's very unique. It has a lot of play features, awesome minifigs, a lot of accesoires and a design that no other set has. Not to forget the many little details and places where minifigs could hide. It's for sure a set that i wouldn't sell again easily.
