I was never that much into the beatles. My father grew up in the time the beatles and the stones were the 2 BIG acts, and he was on the stones "side". i guess that's where it comes from

Cool review! I've always loved these "hard" looking tyres, i never understood why they don't make them anymore. They looked way more off-roadish.

Well, it's quite simple with my nickname. my favourite music is metal, and my name is Andi. I use this name since years now and have it pretty much on all message boards i am, so i also have it here. I know it might be strange, but anyway. I'm not the kind of person that uses 20 different names in 20 different forums.

First, thanks to all your great response for my review, i'm glad you like this set aswell. As it comes to stickers, the tiles ant slopes in the control room are printed pieces! The rest as coast guard logo patterns and so on are stickers. I forgot to make a photo of the sticker sheet unfortunately

I originally wanted to buy this cause i thought it was a great set, but this might change my mind. I still think it looks much better than the old one, though. Is it really THAT fragile? I can't really imagine, cause most of the reviews at brickset are very positive, and on the pictures it doesn't look like it's falling apart easily either.

OMG, NO! Neither of them It's of course the great Bob Dylan.

Wow, i think this is the first time i'm the first to have a new set (at least here) and review it. Got it 2 days ago, thanks to a fast shipping from S@H this time, and i found time now to review it now. Enough of the babbling, let's let the facts and pictures speak, which actually turned out pretty well this time. Set Nr.: 4210 Name: Coast Guard Platform Number of minifigs: 4 Number of pieces: 469 Release Year: 2008 A few shots of the box first: 2 Books of Instructions we got here, first one for the helicopter second one for the rest and the platform itself: A general overview of the platform from above: The 4 minifigs, 3 rescue guys and one oil rig worker (?). The pilot seems not very happy that he has to work in the middle of nowhere at sea Right beside the entry of the tower we have the diving equipment holder: Next, the guy can jump in this little speedboat... ...and another guy brings it down to water with the crane: If somebody is rescued from the air, he arrives here and is brought to the tower with the little moving platform than runs on "rails": Down under we got a buoy and several life belts and extinguishers: With the lift somebody who is rescued by the boat can be brought up. I think it would been better if they would have made a mechanism there to bring it up, but it's okay: A few floors higher the sea is being observated and watched: On the ground level we have the medical station/warm-up room: The helicopter as stand-alone: All in all for me this is besides the police station THE city set of this year. It's got great features, and looks fantastic and also has many useful pieces. You can't do anything wrong with buying it, 10/10 for me! That's all for now, hope you liked my review. Edit: Oh damn, i forgot to write "review" in the topic title, can a mod please add this? Thanks!

Bruce Springsteen - Point Blank One of the best songs of the second best songwriter of all time.

Does anybody know if this will also be available at S@H? If yes, then we might get a better description there what is in it. but i kinda doubt it, because an advent calendar normally is about getting something without knowing what it is, it before opening.
-
That's quit simple, i don't disassemble them
-
Yes, you are right. actually i noticed that afterwards, cause i wasn't really sure. So i took a look at my fire HQ and recognized it. nevermind.
-
That blacktron ship looks really awesome! Allright, so now i finally also made some (bad) pictures of my collection, which is as to say, placed all over my appartement..it's time to disassemble some sets but it just hurts so to do that cause i love them all Again sorry for the bad quality: and the absolute pearl of my collection
-
i got the platform and the helicopter today, and i recoginized this tile is PRINTED: as far as i know these have been stickers in the past years sets, so it's great! Anyway, there are plenty of stickers for the coast guard patterns and so on, so no need to freak out. Just wanted to mention that.

I recently got a few still sealed and new sets from the 90' on ebay, and after the Rock Raider's Hover Scout this isthe second one i'll review. I really like the space port theme, even if the sets may be more simple than earlier space city sets, i like the overall look and the color scheme. But enough of that, let's go on with the pictures! Set Nr.: 6455 Name: Space Simulation Station Number of minifigs: 3 Number of pieces: 240 Release Year: 1999 First again a few pics of the boxes and the instructions: The main box: This theme had a kinda strange seperation of the pieces, the parts for the control center and the shuttle are in seperate little boxes, and the others are in polybags with the models printed on them. Also seperate instructions for each step: A general overview: We got 3 lovely minifigs here, from left to right the control engineer, the mechanic and the astronaut: The -i dont know the english word for it- testing-thing, the astronaut is being tested to hard nerves there The mechanics little car, on the back an extinguisher and a radio device is attached: the take-off station for the little shuttle with the shuttle itself on it: And without it: Tools, tools, tools! The shuttle as stand-alone: i think that would be fuel tanks, i like this little detail: And finally we have the controll room, would have been better with seats, but it's alright: A really sweet mid-sized set if you ask me, a few <insert that tiresome argument> parts, but it fits perfectly with the set. The theme itself is also great, and i wish that TLG brings it back, i could see stunning sets with the quality city sets have right now!
-
I think these will be banned too in a few minutes. But i must say, living at the foot of a windmill isn't really the life style i would choose.
-
How many city sets do you kno? I guess not many, ause there were amazing ones coming out the last couple years, only as en example the new police HQ. And what truck are you talking about? Try to explain all this a bit more, otherwise it just seems you are bitchin' out of fun.

God Save the save as-function
-
Oh my..that looks A-MA-ZING! Seems my prayers for more civilian sets have been heard! Hopefully we will get more such stuff in the city future1
-
As posted in the new pirate minifigs thread, i'm gonna post the pics here also where you can see the torso of the new jester fig and the maiden which are both included in the avent calendar:
-
Thanks! Now we finally hava a better pic of the maiden's torso from the castle advent calendar! There's also the torso of the jester, yay! (sorry for the kinda off-topic)
-
That's exactly the things i want! Stores, shops, all kind of civilistic buildings...also a museum would be great, i think! Imagine rooms full of relicts from castle and adventurers thems, put under glass I'm off now again, continuing building the imperial star destroyer which finally came today
-
I think it won't be an exclusive set, cause it even was first available at a store in france. So i assume it will be available everywhere. It's a shame that the shipping from S@H always takes so damn lonk..i hope i'll get it before next weekend, then i'll make a review!

metalandi replied to metalandi's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Unfortunately i dont have any other sets yet, i think i got one of the bigger vehicles back in the time, but i don't have any sets from this time anymore. but i certainly plan to get the loader dozer and/or the Chrome Crusher soon. I found an ebay auction where somebody is selling the sets 4940, 4950 and 4970 new & sealed hopefully i have luck with that. It's only at 4 Euros right now, but it's still running 6 days... http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...A:IT&ih=005 -
4910 Hover Scout Pictorial Review
metalandi replied to metalandi's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
excuse me but..what? -
I didn't exactly know where this belongs the best but i think it fits the best in here cause it's somewhat space related. I got this nifty little set yesterday from an auction ebay, new and sealed! I think the rock raiders theme was a great theme, and i wish they would have continues id back then. But anyway, let's see what we got here: Set Nr.: 4910 Name: Hover Scout Number of minifigs: 1 Number of pieces: 39 Release Year: 1999 First, a picture of the little box & instructions: A general overview of the set: And here we have the lovely (?) Miss Jet! (yes, the minifigures had odfficial names in this theme ) The little vehicle: And finally the Crystal Analysis Station. i like that very much, even if it's simple, but it does a good job and the amount of equipment also is cool: That's it, little set, little review, but big fun. I can recommend that to everybody, it's great for the parts, and the minifig is lovely. Gets a 10/10 from me
