Well, for myself it's the case, that i simply buy the sets i like the most, not depending on which theme they are. I do pretty much all themes except bionicle and technic, just for the fact cause i don't consider these as "real" lego sets. So my advice is, just buy the sets you like most (or you need the parts from). I always take a look on which set are coming out, then limit it down to those i like the most and which i am able to pay and buy them.

Yes you are right about this, but unfortunately the quality isn't good enough to exactly see what it is, i already tried with photoshop to make it better but not with much success. It certainly looks like a lot of equipment, which i would love.

REVIEW: GIANT Castle Chess Set (2008)
metalandi replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm not a good chess player too, but i'd simply only buy it just to look at it all day. It may sound dumb, but i'm a freak. -
Yes, that is what i wanted to say with it. Compare it to the Lego Set, you'll see that the scale isn't minific compatible at all, it's like 10 times smaller

Just saw the other pictures now and i really love how you did the interior. I've seen many train mocs where there already was too much, but this is just right. What did you use exactly for the "fire"? And do you have a clearer picture or an explenation on how you made the ladder here http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RickB/Ge...ureihe-22/j.jpg ?

The folder is not yet public, but so far i really like it! I too always wanted to build a detailed locomotive, but i don't have the right parts for it still today. Hopefully i can do something like that someday.

Oh thanks for pointing out, i didn't see this!

I think the cars look awesome great detail on them, and i dien't even know such a set was coming out until yesterday! I wonder how many parts it has and what's inside the garage. I can go with the size of the hot rods, since it's a factory set.

REVIEW: GIANT Castle Chess Set (2008)
metalandi replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks very much for the inytruction scans! I already wondered why these aren't up at lego.com yet, but maybe that's not the case with such special sets. For me this is clearly the set of the year, and i can't wait to get my hans on it, if only i had a bit more money! -
Thanks for this review TheBrickster! I got this set when it came out back then and spent many many hours playing with it, because of the fact having this wench it has got great playability. Since the first moment i loved this theme and i still do today. Allthough the sets itself are not too famous in design, i like the overall look and the colours work well together. You have to think about that these were the years where most of the other vehicles and sets from the city theme were WAY too <insert that tiresome argument>, with the exeption of a few sub-themes including Res-Q. I got this set back this year after my dark ages, along with all other sets of this theme, except the hovercraft. I'm looking forward to review some of these very soon, so stay tuned!

REVIEW: GIANT Castle Chess Set (2008)
metalandi replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
i really must say i am viewing the first page about 5 times a day since it has been posted. I must get this set asap -
I'm very sorry, but i most likely think they will delete this even without fully reading it. It's got almost no constructive critism and there are honestly some things that i don't even see as bad stuff. For me it really just sounds like you want to impede progress and whining after the old times, sorry.

It is really strange that everything is always the same in € as it is in USD. There is a lot of difference in between, if everything was right it would have to be more expensive in the US or cheaper in europe...

We want the amazing 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant!
metalandi replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
As i said i asked the seller where he got it from, and as expected didn't get a real answer. He only told me he got it from a friend and that it's very rare. -
It's WAY smaller than minifig scale. Just compare a picture of the real one: ..with the Lego one: The minifigs would be about as high as the red mark i set in there.
