How do you know you HAVE to leave that part off, just because it's not attached in a picture?
-
In which way exactly? I don't get that, when i see that new castle i can only think of classic sets, KK doesn't even come to my had at all when i look at the pictures...
-
What things exactly were too <insert that tiresome argument> in the fantasy castle line?
-
Actually you can transport them easy, if you put them or a plate or something. when i put my king's castle siege from one position to another, i always put it on a lego box, it never broke once. And also think about, that when it is on a baseplate there is no chance to add more elements do it.

I think you are right, it may be for feeding the horses. Pretty nice they include a detail like that!

Romans or Greeks/Spartans
metalandi replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
One one hand i also highly doubt we'll see a theme like that in the near future since we're just getting a whole new castle theme, but i don't gie hopes up. I just find it odd,t hat they would make new molds for helmets and stuff and new printings, just for one minifig, but make no further sets which they are included in. -
Set Number/Name: 6081 King's Mountain Fortress Theme: Castle/Crusaders Year Released: 1990 Pieces Count: 435 Minifigures: 8 Price: Depending on condition and so on, between 40 and 100 € on Ebay As i promised, i will review some of my classic castle sets over the next weeks, and today we go on with the 2nd installment in these series: A review of the first real "big" castle i ever owned! When i got this set i was probably only 4 or 5 years old, and i think i might have built it with my grandpa back then. Anyhow, this isn't the version i had back then anymore, but luckily i managed to get one back off ebay about a year or 2 ago. Let's begin the review! The Instructions: I forgot to make apicture of the instructions, so ust posted the picture from brickset this time. The Minifigs: We have 8 figs all in all, not as much as in Black Knight's Castle, but thinking of that this one is a bit smaller, still a very good amount. 4 Foot Soldiers, 2 Knights on horses (with different saddles and colors), the usual ghost plus a lovely maiden figure, which is (i believe) exclusive to this set. Overall Views: Detailed Views: At the front we have this wonderful piece of architecture, which can be opened... ...to reveal something extremely scary! Inside the castle, there's a treasure chest, little prison, and a hidden room under a door in the floor, in which you can store some more chests or barrels: A step higher in the tower, there's a door in the back that looks like a prison door (what i find a bit strange, since the prison already is downstairs), and inside a trap door (which needs a little finger help to open): And finally at the very top, there's the point to defense the castle with a crossbow stand: Ending Statement: Another castle with very good playability, though the design lacks a bit in comparison to other castles. Still a very good set with a good amount of figs and accesoires which was common for the time it was released. It gets a 8/10 rank from me for sure!

I think these might be new: -
The portal of atlantis set looks quite awesome, and also the "mutant base" looks interesting. Can't wait to see some more pictures of these.

Thanks for the new pictures! Since the beginning when is aw the first boy pictures i knerw i'm gonna like this theme, but with these now i absolutely love it! The castle looks OUTSTANDING, i think i like it even more than the king's castle siege set. I love the use of red, and that tower looks really good, i like that much more than that tiny little tower with blue roof in the last castle, which you can't really use for anything. A'lso it seems it has some nice interior here and there. It looks to me like a combination of 6080 King's Castle and 6074 Black Falcon's Fortress, just even better! Btw. can anyone make out what this (in blue) is?

For like 10 Years people wanted the human vs. human themes to return, and now they are returning, people are whing about that.
-
It may be stickers for that displayed version for now, but i'm pretty sure it will be printed parts in the end. Also the shields seem to be stickers, which for sure will also be printed in the final version.

Can someone give me a heads-up here, cause everyone is talking about "pictures", but i only see one small picture posted here
-
If there would be an award for "worst line ever" this one would for sure win it. Sorry
-
I think i remember reading somewhere they are all fall issues (september or october), but i'm not sure.
-
I really like the look of those! Also, quite interesting building technique you used on the front, with the cheese pieces (the yellow lights).
-
Thanks for the review! I will definitely not get this set, it really seems not good at all to me The plane itself looks pretty good on the outside, and i like the little yellow car that comes with it, but that's about it. the amount of only 3 Figs, of which only ONE is a passenger is a bad joke. Also, there is no interior in the plane except seats and the cockpit controls. Why not add a at least luggage room, and a room for the stewardesses or something like that, come on. Sorry, this is a big letdown for me.

Well there always have been stories that old castles and mansions and so on have been haunted, so i guess that's why lego came up with the idea to include ghosts in castle sets. And today we have undead skeletons, trolls and dwarves, so we are past the ghost thing already
-
Yep, i got this set about a year and a half back in almost new condition. I had only got to do very less cleaning, as there just was a little bit of sust on the parts. With it beeing in such good condition, it's definitely a set i won't give away anytime soon.
-
Thanks! I will try to put up a review of a classic castle set now every week, if i have enough time. I have some more sets left, that need a review here on Eurobricks!
-
Huh?
-
Thanks for the pics! The set looks nice but i agree they should have made the lime 6-wide. would have looke dbetter all in all and also would have given place for some more interior (though it already is cool that they included a TV device)

Set Number/Name: 6086 Black Knight's Castle Theme: Castle/Black Knights Year Released: 1992 Pieces Count: 588 Minifigures: 12 Price: Depending on condition and so on, between 70 and 120 € on Ebay Since i have been recently "digging" out again some of my older castle sets and put them back on display again, and i saw there are a few reviews missing for sets that i own, i decided to review this great classic castle. This is my first review since a long time, and due that i am not a member of the reviewers academy, i hop you forgive me though i tried my best, if some pictures are not perfect. Enough babbling, let's go straight to the pictures! The Instructions: Not much to say about those, everything is showed clearly and the print is from high quality, like in all instructions from that time. The Minifigs: There are 12 of them! Isn't that an amazing amount? If you compare it to set nowadays, i would definitely say yes. We have 4 knights on horses, all with different colors, different saddles and we even get at least one horse in every colour that is available. We have another 6 foot soldiers to protect the castle, of which 4 are archers. On the enemy's side we have a standard wolfpack guy with red cape and a ghost. Overall Views: Left-angled: Right-angled: Front: Side views: Bird perspective: Detailed Views: Secret entrance to the "keep" on the right corner: The fassade of the "keep" - a great piece of architecture: Inside the "keep", we have a table, a barrell, a chest and something to drink for the knights: The door of the left tower - this is where the house ghost lives! The flag, which is only available in this set: Detail from the front entrance: The prison inside the castle, and what i think is some kind of a water place: Some final words: I think this is one of the best castles TLG has ever produced, cause though it has a raised baseplate, it got an incredible design that makes it look unique. There are plenty of figs coming with it what is great, but also every fig is different. Add lots of accessoires, rare pieces and great playability, this set is totally perfect. Hope you liked my review, i can't wait to hear your opinions about it and the set! Edit: pictures are fixed now and should work again.
