  1. Small chain pieces? Can you please explain more detail?
  2. @jorgeopesi my goal was to make correct proportions. If I add 2 studs at the front I'll be able to use hub reduction, but it will be way to wide; only way to accomplish it to make somehow appropriate is if LEGO would make defender wheels in yellow. I could make a bit wider chassis when I finish this model. 2 studs wider will make 20 studs width which would corresponds 2880mm width (for 1:18 scale).
  3. Small progress on 1:18 JCB Fastrac 8330 project; I have switched back to 2 L-motors with reduction 20-28 (using 3 differentials from 42109 set). Overall width over front tires is about 18 studs and rear is about 20 studs (real Trac has from 2750-2900mm width when using 710/60R42 or 900/50R42 tires at the rear). There is a big chance that I copy solution from 8284 set because even small linear actuator looks to big here
  4. I understand; Porsche electric is not cheap set so it could not be seen even as a parts pack
  5. Looks very nice and certainly it doesn't stink like Zetors that I meet every day
  6. But do we have sturdy solution that is shorter than 5L? ...for ball socket?
  7. Nico, maybe I've missed explanation, but why don't you use this panel extension on hood? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=71708&idColor=1#T=C&C=1
  8. I'm afraid with time they could get lose (at least that happens to all my perpendicular axle joiners after few use...)
  9. I was thinking about it since introduction of reduction hub on 42099 set
  10. @allanp tow ball socket part with such axle orientation will fall apart; it would be better (IMHO) that this part instead of pinhole has tow ball socket.
  11. I know 42030 uses 4 of them (black) in steering system ...but as it would be ordinary liftarms with axle holes
  12. Perhaps in some cases this part could do the thing.... https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11272#T=C&C=77
  13. I know that, that is why tires from Raptor/ Buggy were perfect (IMHO) for JCB Loadall 560/80 that is used in scrapyards...my suggestion was yellow because he has lots of yellow parts (based on number of his MOCs in yellow) and tractor tires I agree are more suitable for forest equipment
  14. Seeing your black grab arm, I suggest you to make it yellow and with smallest tractor tires...
  15. So te recap interesting simple playable smaller set without any new part (just recolors)
  16. Yes, but then you need to secure 1 x 2 beam with this parts in order not to fall apart. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18651&idColor=11 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4265c&idColor=86#T=C&C=86 ...and use those thin beams: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41677&idColor=7#T=C&C=7
  17. Xerion tires are on wheel futuristic, or as you said 8462 wheels and Zetros tires (42129) are on rims from buggy
  18. Ladies and gentlemen if someone of you is interested how to use wheel futuristic with portal axles hubs, or other hubs that have 3 pins, you can see my idea in this gallery. Just keep in mind that is a wide solution. So far I didn't test it to see how it handles torque, but I think when using one L motor for drive it would be acceptable
  19. Ok; I'll make shorter post with link on gallery where those images are hosted. Thanks buddy
  20. There were some quiet times with my projects, but I can (so far only) post idea how to use portal axles (or other compatible wheel hubs) with futuristic wheels... @Jim and @Milan I wasn't sure if this is appropriate for General part discussion tread, so I have posted in my tread. If you feel that this solution could be interesting to wider public (than those who peek from time to time into my tread) feel free to copy this post into General part discussion tread.
  21. But your models are optimized with less parts possible (something that I use only on structure, but my goal for details made it usually over 1500 pieces). @Porsche96 sorry to derail your topic a bit
  22. Yes, but it is very very complicated because there are no enough small shocks @jorgeopesi made once one light bluish gray 4 x 4 Tatra-inspired chassis that is small enough, but he uses rubber beams to act as absorbers...which doesn't work for me because my version is much heavier...
