  1. there are Unimogs U423 with tractor tires up to 2420mm width (wider mudguards), so math is ok. it is very challenging even in 1:18 scale, not to mention 1:20 to make proper Unimog. looking forward Regards
  2. it could be lower profile (95mm) and 34-38 mm wide on wheel racing medium; Unimog tire could be used as some kind of template, with adoption of tractor tread (19 treads in this case; Claas tire has 20 of them; Zetros tire has 18 and Jeep tire has 16)
  3. Zetros and Claas tire are good combo for JCB 3CX, but since you mentioned JCB brand for Fastrac 8000 series you need 88-95mm front tire
  4. No, (IMHO) if you want to bould modern agriculture machinery in the same scale... lots of modern tractors and combine harvesters have tires some 15% diffetence in size (front to rear), Claas terratrac models fit perfectly to largest sprockets front and 90-95mm tires on (rear) steering axle
  5. one of the main problem are lego wheels with negative offset; older truck wheels like for 62,4 x 20 and 68.8 x 24 tires have a bit of that, but to small to integrate portal axle hub deeper inside wheel
  6. agree Milan; there is version with wider mudguards 495/70R24 tires that is 2500mm wide (I was studying it for my 1:18 version which is still in plan) @DLTC i have managed to make 1:18 scale Unimog with portal axle hubs and black cat 68.8 tires, but it is not for power functions because it is to fragile...
  7. As someone who likes Unimogs (and have some special connection with them since my father worked in Gaggenau), i must admit that on belly shot i didn't noticed portal axles and i prefere technic look for cab; but this version is also nice (BTW since you chose 1:17 scale; overall width should be max 18 studs)
  8. I'll be at my work in Zagreb, but i have ordered few in meantime... it should be used inside 7 studs long box only in straight line, no steering. Enjoy your visit to Bavaria and send greetings to Michael (@efferman) and Simon ( @functionalTechnic). kind regards
  9. since today autumn really starts where i live; we finally don't have to worry next 4-5 months about grass growing. lil mover is cute
  10. First of all sorry for very late response, but can you tell me how does it handle torque? I need it to make reduction from one PF XL motor. thanks in advance I hope that i didn't bump into to old topic
  11. Good afternoon,

i know it is loooong time ago when your Axion was in discussion; but i forgot to ask one thing...i could not notice central differential? is there another solution for all wheel drive in your creation?

    kind regards

Hi, i always try to mirror the actual machine, so my Xerion did have a central diff but my Axion didn't because the real thing doesn't.. I worked out the gear ratio needed to match the wheel sizes. Obviously that ratio is only accurate when its going in a straight line, when its turning the ratio changes and you risk wind-up in the transmission. The real thing can take it, lego grumbles!!

It would be much easier with a central diff... but...!

  12. you ca make classis tram that has raised floor like this one: it doesn't have to be a low floor...so you have lots of space for electronics
  13. looks very good and details are better than expected for such small scale
  14. Extraodrinary build my friend. Sorry for late response, i had so much to do last few weeks, but from november I would have time for Lego.
  15. It looked to me as rainforest
  16. Perhaps I can suggest you to use Flickr or bricksafe as image hosts and post a image link (that is not bigger than 1024) into your topic
  17. Honestly I was waiting some elephant to appear in the background (without tiger of course). As my models are made for indoors only, I'm not most realistic commentator. As I said before IMHO model looks very nice
  18. Wow, that's something totally unexpected. Real surprise in positive way.
  19. Is it possible to see your Unimog with black rims? (That is another question about black rims)
  20. It looks very nice indeed. Just one question: do you have black rims?
  21. It seems like you are fan of that hose monster jam pullbacks...I must admit sometimes they are very good parts donors
  22. It looks like TLC decided with introduction of Mack Anthem to switch trucks to smaller scale based in 49.5 tires, but IMHO most likely truck mentioned in 1h of 2023 would probably be 8065 size, or not much bigger
