I see orange U530 every day on my way to work; but U4023/5023 is something else, since Unimogs are used here for street work ... somehow it is kund of evergreen IMHO. Friend of mine (who together with me had rebuild few old Mercedes cars has one 406 with 5.7l diesel... and years ago I stumbled on one with petrol M130 single carburetor engine (but engine was dead after several overhauling)... I have lots of plans, but time is not my friend...

Yes, it is (something like) 1:21 scale, which gives very limited choice what to build...telehandlers are not possible if you want motorized functions, etc...

trucks, trucks...and whenever i hoped for tires that could enable mr to make 1:16.5 scaled MOCs (to fit perfectly with trucks based on ideal truck tire 62.4), i ended up disappointed with Lego tire choice... Simon, both truck and trailer are great

Systems tractors and other machinery
1gor replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Honestly propeller has less friction spinning through the air than wheels that are driving tractor that is supposed to pull something (at least)... I feel honored that you gentleman give me suggestions and share your experience.- 625 replies

After testing I must say that only traditional way works; reduction gubs should be used as hubs like on 42099 set; so only way is to use like on axle that has angled suspension arms based on Pythagorean theorem- 625 replies

1gor replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
so far i have relatively stiff part where this reduction hub is integrated. Only I have to put XL motor 1 stud outer so gears would not rub on XL motor housing ... I'll post images when i finish chassis and axles- 625 replies

Systems tractors and other machinery
1gor replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
it is one stud thick; if red 28 tooth differential doublebevel gear had kind of pinholes and not kind of hooks could be usefull (or that Lego redesigns old 40tooth gear to fit that 3 point pin connector)... perhaps it could be fitted ½ stud more inside? I'll try that later today just in case ... Thank you for your help- 625 replies

Yes, to save space. This is idea also to save on reduction hubs since reduction hubs have 2 studs connectors that are taking same space as shocks- 625 replies
