I think the moc of Queen Mary II looks absolutely stunning!! It's really amazing! I'm wondering if bricks of different colours were used for the inside. But I also find the other mocs that were referred to in this threat amazing!

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
legotrainfan replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
It's like that for Austria as well. This must be valid for whole Europe, I suppose. I don't know what TLC is doing! First it said Emerald Knight was available on April 15th, then suddenly April 11th, then back to the 15th, and now it's the 30th! Let's see if the release date will be changed once again in the near futre.- 559 replies

How does Eurobricks affect your Lego Hobby?
legotrainfan replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Community
I think I do spend more on LEGO stuff. Due to eurobricks, I'm more aware of certain sets. And this site keeps me up-to-date in regard to newly released sets. But I don't moc since I don't have many bricks I could use for moccing. And I don't believe my moccing skills are so great anyway. -
Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
legotrainfan replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
On 1000steine.de people are discussing the new PF motor, which a member of them found on brickshelf. But there are also some more pics of other PF parts in that folder:- 559 replies

Wonderful layout and collection! You own some old and classic sets that I'd also like to have!

If you could revive any one dead theme...
legotrainfan replied to Darth Legolas's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd love to see the following themes revived: 1. Forestmen 2. Futuron 3. Classic Space -
A set of 9V switches 4531, which is NEW. I got it for 30 euro something. Quite a good price for this set, I believe. Just recently I watched the same set on eBay and it was sold for more than 40 euro.

New pieces or existing pieces in more colors
legotrainfan replied to Eilif's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm also of the opinion that we should have more colours for the existing pieces. Sometimes it's terribly annoying when you realise that a particular piece does not exist in the colour you urgently need. -
Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
legotrainfan replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Highly interesting these new flexible tracks! Thank you very much for posting the link! And the really good thing about these new flexible tracks is: You can even form straights with them! I'm already curious about what amazing track layouts will be created because of these tracks!- 559 replies

Thanks for the link! Very nice to see the engine in action! Quite hard for the 9V motor to push this long locomotive! Even though I'm a 9V nut, I'll use PF for this set as soon as I have it. I don't want to overburden my precious 9V motors too much. That'd certainly limit their lifespan.

Set 8401 is ok, but I would like to see the police officer substituted with a female, civilian minifig. It'd be great to have a set with civilians only. There should be as many male minifigs as female ones in it. That'd be great. This way I could populate my city. Especially the Creator houses would need some minifigs that live in it. I'm wondering why they always come without any minifigs. There's no pirates minifig set, is there? So I'd also be great to have a pirates minifig set, but without Captain Brickbeard. The old pirate Captain was in so many sets of the old pirate line. When collecting pirate sets, you can build an army with pirate captains only. I don't want to see this with the new pirate line.

I mainly collect city stuff. This includes train, and I also don't distinguish between town and city. I love creating real life scenes. I just want to have a huge layout as fans of modell trains have. I just want to make a splendid town with as many details as possible. I also like castle, pirates, and space, but they are just a marginal aspect of my LEGO interests. Yet I do buy a set of those themes from time to time. I think those themes are ideal if you are imaginative. Just create adventures around the pirates and knights. Build adventurous scenes! Or travel to other planets in space and boldly go where no one has gone before! And that's what LEGO is all about: imagination! I almot never play with the sets I own. My layouts are usually static apart from the trains moving around. The real action happens in my brain. When I've completed a layout, I imagine how everything's alife in the city, space station, pirate ship, and castle. Layouts are just wonderful to look at.

That's why I don't buy them: I have several 4-wide trucks, and I don't want to place a 6-wide truck near them. The only 6-wide truck I have came with train set 4565. Quite an early specimen of a 6-wide truck; that set was released in 1996.
-
Since I don't want a mixture of 4- and 6-wide vehicles in my LEGO town, I also avoid buying them.

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
legotrainfan replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks, legomilk, for the information on the motorisation of Emerald Night! As Holodoc, I'm also asking myself whether they are selling all that stuff separately or as one set; I hope the latter is the case. Do you think Emerald Night can run on 9V curves? The three big wheels don't seem to be able to move left or right. Sometimes I ask myself if that mysterious flexible track is needed to create curves for Emerald Night since the radius of 9V/RC tracks wouldn't allow the locomotive to run on them. Just an assumption. I hope that it can also run on curved 9V tracks.- 559 replies

Happy birthday to you!

Very good construction, but I'm also among those who believe that you should change the colour scheme. For me it is too dark. The colour scheme alone reminds me of a castle.

I have already had my hands on one. Just assembled it yesterday. I had the coupon and went to an Interspar shop with it on Thursday in the morning. By the way, I think mainly children will have a happy time with this set. Most of the people who came were women, partly accompanied by a child. Concerning the other sets of this year: I'm quite suprised that there seems to be no Vestas-like set: a windmill on a truck, a windmill in a field or whatever. I thought that something was going to come because we could not get the limited Vestas windmill.

I don't care so much about this. I'm considering just moving those buildings as close to the roadplates as possible. Then I'd simply go for extending the pavement, thus creating a large pedestrian area by adding tiles. As far as I know there's a rule that for each theme there is a specific number of sets that can be produced. So if all the four different types of roadplates would be sold separately, that would make four sets, thus reducing the number of other city sets. Instead, there are only two sets of roadplates. Unfortunately, they are mixed, but that's better than a reduction of the number of the other city sets. Why don't you phone the customer service to ask if they could sell you some straights only? Maybe it's possible, maybe not. Just try! I don't care about this issue, because I have old light gray roadplates with bike lanes only; and I only buy those. I've never understood why TLC has to release new roadplates every few years. That's pretty annoying.

Actually I bought no LEGO today, but I got a set for free. Just yesterday I found a coupon for Tractor 4899 in a Spar supplement in a newspaper. So I went to an Interspar shop with that coupon this morning and got that little set for free! I think if it had cost something, I wouldn't have bought it; but I couldn't resist getting that set, which cost nothing at all.

Thanks for your tips, guys!
