  1. 4483 or 10178 I’m curious if I could have the opinion of someone who owns both sets, as in two weeks time 10178 is 10% off in Lego stores in the UK if it’s worth it or shpuld I wait and quire a 4483?
  2. The not very useful advice or Cardinal Brick is not to worry about it to much, I can see from your post you’re from England and we all know how English children act. For those you who don’t I suggest William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, at this point be grateful you aren’t nicknamed piggy and trapped on an island without adults. While it cuts both ways, generally we take the mick out of people we like as a way of forming closer bonds, this normally decreases as you get old. While as others have pointed out you might want to reassess who your friends are it’s more than likely primitive bonding in action. Alternatively it could be a way for them to tread water in the social hierarchy at school. That they spread rumours that you worship a Lego bricks; well my first thought was that’s a rubbish rumours and not very interesting if that’s the best they can do you have nothing to worry about rumours that aren’t interesting or added to die very quickly. Of course my response to that would be to start a far more interesting rumours about the person who told everyone by going to someone will a big mouth and denying something about them, but it’s probably best not to take my advice, I wasn’t the kindest child. The most important point is that it’ll get easier as you get older, because A you’ll know who you friends though they will occasionally poke fun at you, and B people are a lot more accepting as they get older. I remember going to one seminar in my first year at university and watching a student presentation about terrorism which was illustrated entirely in Lego. The student in question got a standing ovation and a number of drinks afterwards. So just wait it out.
  3. Well done, I saw this, this morning, did you give your real name to them or just Dr S?
  4. A nice little MOC I look forward to seeing more rooms added over time, and the work in progess on the 'junk' front j/k
  5. Finally saw the Dark Knight, I'm sure everyone else has seen it already, I'm not planning to go and see it on an IMAX screen
  6. Happy Birthday, I'm gald dunamis got such a great present for himself.
  7. The Eiffel Tower , oh I've wanted that set for so long, but I foud one today at Bluewater with a damaged box and thus £50 off a 33.3% saving, I can't wait to build it.
  8. Hello and welcome I hope you have a great time here.
  9. That cost you $50? I have to say for the quality you've described that's far to high. So 275 becomes totally insane.
  10. It's a great idea, but the price of the headgear might make it a bit less uesful.
  11. Are you sure it's anti-shop lifting I remember reading about sets being open and the contents being removed in the US and all that was left was the boxes.
  12. One of my all time favourite I still love it even after all these years, though it did always seem a bit out of place as when I was a child I’d never seen a similar looking fire appliance in the UK.
  13. Excellent review and your pictures are very good, I look forward to seeing more review. I really like this set I got it some time ago and keep meaning to post some pictures of it going up against some of the older castles.
  14. I think it’s more about confidence than the economic statistics, and as far as I know economic confidences is very low here at the moment.
  15. But we had five for a while I think so we need to get back to that level.
  16. Perhaps it’s the economy? Consumer confidence is very low at the moment in the UK and a lot of people I know are worried about losing their jobs so it’s not the time to be buying Lego. I’ve noticed the price has come down on a lot of sets recently. Just a thought.
  17. Maybe one day, I keep hoping that they'll expand in the UK as there are a number of new shopping centers coming for high quality brands
  18. While disappointed the factor isn’t made out of Lego and the production isn’t run by mindstorms and a distinct lack of primary colour, it’s truly amazing to watch the thing come together, though I’d like to know a bit more about when automation started etc.
  19. Another interesting interview, any chance or elaborating about Alpha team?
  20. It’s not a very impressive set, so I don’t mind not owning it, but it just bugs me that it’s yet another line I can’t own the complete set of. .
  21. You just heightening the anticipation even more with another shot, I can’t wait to see the whole thing.
  22. It looks excellent. I love steampunk and another great use of Lego
  23. I understand the issue of taxes but often it seems that the prices don't actually mesh with the local tax levels. And as shipping always comes afterward I think we can discount that as a reason.
  24. Thanks for the heads up, it's intresting but I wonder how many school will buy it in the end.
  25. Most of us know just how lucky we are, I remember a time before we had any UK stores, and when Bluewater was so far away,
