Sorry I don’t have any pictures my camera’s not working if I can get it working I add some soon.
Figures.
Firstly we have three trolls, two have the torsos found in Dwarf mining and the other has the same torso found in the battle wagon. Sadly there is no new troll armour in the set which comes as a bit of a disappointment,
For the knights we have two with the new torso found in the impulse set and one of the old torsos (the one which is always used for the knight with the broad brimmed helmet), while I do like the new torso I’m a little disappointed that we might see the end of the other night torso this year which I thought was very good.
The Build.
No numbered bags in this set, though as most things seem to be divided in that style, it might just be a printing error. Never the less it’s easy to see what goes where. The little wall was a night simple build and if you decided not to keep it you at least come away with 6 useful spears. The catapult is fairly standard and a tad dull but that’s hardly the main point of the set.
As for the battle wheel the first part of the build was quite fun though I did shoot myself attaching the trigger mechanism to the missile firing piece. The two wheels form the longest bit of the build and I found it a tad reparative as the instructions show ever single step but once it’s done it’s not to bad.
The Model
As I said earlier the wall is a bit dull and boring, but as that’s not the point of the set I don’t think it matters.
The Wheel itself is excellent in my opinion, people have been complaining that we don’t need another catapult and a new type of siege engine is what’s needed and Lego have truly provided. The cannon that’s mounted underneath the central part of the wheel has a trigger which runs back along the spine that sticks out the back allowing you to roll it and then fire it at the same time. I think this feature will provide a lot of play and fun, I couldn’t resist trying to know down a few knights with it.
Over all it looks great and I love the detail of the two trolls running on the wheel to provide the power. Certainly a break with the past that makes me wonder what else we’ll see in the future.
Prince
I found it in Bluewater in the UK for
