That’s fine I should be able to fit it in fine then, do I need to buy three new sets (not that I’m looking for a reason to buy three more or anything)? -

It sounds interesting, and I’d like to sign up but can I ask how long the course will take? I start at my new University in early October and don’t want to give up part way though the review course. -
I don’t know if in the long run it might be worth just having one thread of Lego featured in the news/press but that’s another discussion. I noticed today when I found the Daily Mail on the train it had an article on the Taj Mahal Sets Here’s the link to the web version if you’re interested. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10...-Taj-Mahal.html

Let's discuss: A LEGO collection for only $50
Cardinal Brick replied to splattergnome's topic in General LEGO Discussion
An intresting topic Desert Island Lego! I think I'd take Crossbow attack 5.99 Kinghts Catapult Defense 9.99 Lego Basic Bricks 12.99 Imperial Dropship 9.99 Rebel Scoutspeeder 9.99 Total 48.95 Though I do note I wouldn't have been able to get quite as much in the UK as the US UK price £36.45 Maybe this should be the prize one day for a contest -
Welcome, Infomaniac I hope you have a great time here.

I’ll happy admit the sterncastle doesn’t flow well, but if it did it might make the ship look a bit to short, that is just an opinion. One final point on the sterncastle I was imagining the pirate ship as something like the English whelps images below Built in the 1630’s and just left lying around the best thing our poor pirate could get but a bit better than a trading ship. I hope to see a proper naval vessel next year for the redcoats which will satisfy us all .

Shanghai Chase is excellent in my opinion, two great cars and a couple of black fedoras I’ve long wanted to make a selection of 20’s gangster MOCs and now finally the parts to do it with. The flying wing I’ll wait and see I’m not to impressed with it to be honest it looks a bit odd to me but then I havn’t seen the film for a while so that goes in the wait and see category.

Norrington, I think it depends on the time frame that you’re looking at, as to if your comments stand up. For myself I assume the line was meant to be around the 17th century, thus making the high sterncastle seem fairly normal to me as a depiction of a great ship from the period. As far as I recall I’m to lazy to dig out my naval architecture book pretty much everything in the period had a high sterncastle even the tiny English Whelp ships. The colour scheme, well also of things in the 17th century had awful paint jobs that jarred and were garish especially French ship. I still think the line stands up well especially if you’re thinking about the 17th century with a few bits of romanticism thrown in shakos dynamite etc

I have to say I think there’s something very wrong in Legoland the amount of construction crews is beyond belief! Do they keep having natural disasters or are they just tearing down old sets? On a more serious notes I think they’re probably the best construction sets we’ve had from Lego for a long time, I personally like the larger size it’s much more realistic in my opinion. As for the far well what can I say but I can’t wait to buy the combine harvester just so I can start a topic with the title ‘I got a brand new combine harvester An' I'll give you the key’ though that wont mean much to most people here. The rest of the sets are also very well put together it’s nice of Lego to make something outside the usual city sets. I must mention the Land Rover which looks black and rather expensive, much like most Land Rovers I encounter. Though the size of it does make me think the Chelsea tractor debate has now entered the Lego world.

Please sir can I join the raffle?

I doubt the fort will be expandable with further modules (though I’d love to be proved wrong) the Dwarf mine set has a similar modular system as does the Skeleton attack ship dock, but nothing has come out to add to them really. I think it’s more so that it allows you to rearrange your fort rather than add to it.

Thank you, I'm disapointed with Star Wars, as I'm not that intrested in the clone wars. Though it's good as it saves money for other sets, I'm impressed with the Indy sets and can't wait to get the chase.

What Classic Town Set Did You Always Want?
Cardinal Brick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Town
There are quite a few but I’ll limit myself 6387: Coastal Rescue Base – saw it in the US catalogue on holiday as a child but couldn’t find it. 4558: Metroliner – I missed it first time round and then missed it again of the re-release. I did at one point find it in a shop and bought it but there was so much missing that I had to return it I doubt if more than 60% was in the sealed box. -
One of the best in my humble opinion. As far as I know it was never released in the UK so the only reason I managed to get my hands on it was on a family holiday to the US, I think they’d only recently opened the Lego store in Disney. Arguable the best feature is that it seems to fit into a wide selection of themes, is it a airstrip in the middle of nowhere, is it next to a only mining town that’s not deserted the possibilities are rather open and that’s truly great.
