Looks like the Droid Gunship will be coming with an updated Chewbacca - from the prelim drawings he seems to have some great new printing! The blasters that shoot studs seem like a lot of fun. It looks like there is an alternative to the dreaded flick-fire missiles in some of the sets - have they finally listened to all of our complaining about them? Also, in the prelim drawings of the minifigs that come with the mini fighters it looks like the X-Wing Pilot's helmet has a visor element? Does anyone think this points to a new rebel helmet with an actual visor element?

Based on the BrickLink data it weighs ~6.8 lbs (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=10237-1). I can weigh it when I get home to confirm this.

I think if Smaug were in the set it wouldn't be called Lake Town Chase and parts of it would be on fire

I wonder if TBB reported the piece count correctly? It's the exact same number of pieces as the Barrel Escape set with the same number of minifigures but costs $10 more.

Looks like a nice part selection but $50 for 334 pieces? Are we paying that huge markup for the large boat piece...

Sounds like a fun project Wodanis! If you're still holding out for the dark blue 1x8 arches and can wait until the end of the year, they are going to be re-released in the new Winter Village Market set (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79730entry1523204). If you watch the designer video it seems that she included them precisely because there is such a high demand for them for rebuilding the old modular buildings!

The corsair ship from the Lord of the Rings line has cloth sails so all is not lost!

I think Zeahl is referring to the Ghasts in the Nether set. I'd agree that they are probably built upside down with the inverted tile capping them.

Haha no . I just replaced the long plate with two plates that are half the length.

Should TLC stop photoshopping their pictures?

The one point I will agree with you on is the chromed pieces. For example, compare the Roman helmets from the collectible minifigures: vs. (images used are from Brickset and BrickLink) I was a little disappointed when I opened up my Romans. -
Wow this looks wonderful! I'm loving the ent's eyes (hope those are printed).

Awesome job! I love the dead guy floating in the water

General Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Questions
Combee replied to jmagaletta's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
They are new pieces that were introduced in the Legends of Chima theme: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=11089 -
This source says that the Lion Temple will be $120, seems a bit much no? LEGO Legends of CHIMA is a new original property that combines the fun of building with role play, social competitive play and digital and video game play. Builders compete via heroic animal characters, such as a lion, gorilla or crocodile, to obtain the power of CHI. The collection includes new Speedorz challenges, featuring a flywheel vehicle, ripcord launcher and buildable obstacles and stunts, in sets such as the CHI Waterfall ($14.99) and Ice Tower ($14.99) for action-packed competitive play. There are also classic building sets like Cragger's Command Ship ($69.99) and The Lion CHI Temple($119.99), six Buildable Action Figures ($14.99 each) and a new LEGO Legends of CHIMAboard game($19.99) which together create the entire fantasy play world of CHIMA. Digital games and an original television series will launch later in the year. Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/07/ny-lego-at-toy-fair-idUSnPnNY56310+160+PRN20130207

Looks like the sail barge will be $120 like the palace. "Perennially popular LEGO Star Wars, inspired by the Star Wars film saga and the animated television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, features new favorites such as the Battle of Hoth ($49.99) and Rancor Pit ($59.99) available now, and AT-TE($89.99) and Jabba's Sail Barge($119.99) coming in August." Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/07/ny-lego-at-toy-fair-idUSnPnNY56310+160+PRN20130207 Seems a little disappointing.

Wow, foxes and skunks with tails. They look great!

Looks like we have a new hat mold coming (or maybe the headphones are a separate piece): Link to the rest of the pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61839591@N08/sets/72157632653581259/with/8431767947/

Hah! I love that Jabba is peeking out of the window

In the first post with the riddles for the ring set, click on the upper right corner of the image (on the mountain). I'm also disappointed that all 4 orcs have the same old torso. Elrond and Arwen look great though. I imagine they will just recolor that hair piece for when (I assume) we get Galadriel in a Hobbit set.

I agree, the base is weird. I was expecting feet On another note anyone else like the addition of doorknobs on the black gate? Makes it really convenient to open it up and walk into Mordor

http://www.sears.ca/product/lego-battle-at-the-black-gate/616-000053108-6025205 So, if the set is $75 in Canada what can we assume the US price will be?

I'll thrown my vote in for the Royal Knights. I've always liked the logo and the colors.
