  1. The cheapest place to get a box would be from Bricklink (the European sellers). Just make sure to ask them about the cost of shipping to the USA. Good luck!
  2. Great show, was really ahead of its time. My favorite episode is when the left over food from the fridge attacks. I just watched the trailer of it after reading your comment, and the animation looks so fluid! Also read some good reviews about it so I am definitely going to be checking this out in the near future.
  3. Likewise for me it is the Legends sets, specifically the Black Falcon's Fortress and the Inn. I also missed out on the collectible Ninja bundles. Also as a kid I never had the mentality of collecting multiple sets, so it would have been nice to have multiple Defense Archers or other small minifigure sets.
  4. The Spirit of Giving As a kid, getting LEGO for Christmas was something I looked forward to with great joy and anticipation. I would spend a great deal of time staring at catalogs and wishing for anyone of them to be by the fireplace on Christmas mornings. On those mornings, opening a box of LEGO was a magical experience and memories that I will cherish for a life time. I signed onto this charity because I hope to create the same feelings I felt in children who are going through a difficult time in their lives. Buying My strategy was to wait on a really good deal and pounce on it! The end result: I spent $933 on $2230 (58% savings) worth of LEGO sets*! I bought the bulk of the sets from Target and Meijer who were having 50% and 60% sale respectively. Here’s a picture worth a thousand words 70 sets. Distributing In November we published a story about Justin, a brave young boy, who was fighting against a terrible type of cancer. His story is very touching and I wanted to do the same for thing for the other boys and girls who are ill. So this year, I have distributed these sets to 3 different Children’s Hospital (Dallas, Plano, and Southlake) and Make-a-Wish HeadQuarters (Irving). I hope that these sets will provide comfort for the kids and I wish them all a speedy recovery. Acknowledgements “We hardly ever get LEGO donations because they’re so expensive but all the kids want them”, these were the responses I got from the representatives of the Children Hospitals. I thought I’d share that with you because your contributions have a made a meaningful impact on a child. With LEGO being so coveted at the hospital, you’ve no doubt created fond memories like those I’ve felt on Christmas mornings. Thank you for your selfless acts of generosity, you all have BIG hearts. I also want to thank my fellow CFC2011 teammates for their contributions, you guys/girls rock! Thank you all and happy holidays! Warm regards, Ethan (Donut) *Tax and shipping costs were not included in this calculation.

  8. Death Star is currently $360 on Amazon.
  9. Wow this looks great. Love the design of the building and the printing on the new minifigs. I think this will look great along side the castle and MMV.
  10. +1 to JimButcher, thanks!
  11. Welcome to the forums! This is an incredible castle for your first build! I really like your part usage in creating an unique look for the outer wall.
  12. Congrats on making it to the front page! I love the landscaping and the little water fall - simple and effective!
  13. Brickdoctor - 1 point (great transition from scout biker to this) darkdragon - 1 point (nice array of colors) Bricksandparts - 1 point (I love the background) Good luck to all!
  14. Wow that was fast. Looking great so far!
  15. What a wonderful LOTR MOC. I love the landscaping, especially the waterfall - it looks really realistic.
  16. fyrmedhatt has already mentioned some of these, but here's the rest of the most expensive LEGO on ebay right now.
  17. Here's an incomplete list. Also Brickset has an updated catalog of sets that were released.
  18. Here you go, minifig hands.
  19. Fred has brought up a really good point. I hate to be the one who says this and I often avoid controversial topics, but this just doesn't sit well with me. I feel that the good intention of this thread has been misused and taken advantage of by a few individuals. The purpose of this thread: I think this is a fun and innovative way to share our love for the brick. But if you cheat the system, it is not fun for the others who have donated their time and effort. By accepting someone's "free stuff", you have made a commitment to give back. So shame on you (you know who you are) for taking advantage of someone else's good will. I know you're a better person than that.
  20. I am going to assume you're in the USA. I think our postal service is pretty reliable and affordable. Postage Calculator Link
  21. TLC has most of the instructions on their website. Have fun building it!
  22. I am definitely going to remove the face and maybe add a black or red minifig head. I prefer to have my figures complete with accessories, but you're free to do whatever you want. In my previous post, I was saying if you are going to use the shield or bow anyways, just buy the complete figure (to save time).
  23. I acquired my first CMF 5 today by pulling wo Lizardman. These figs will look great in any fantasy edition factions. It's too much trouble hunting down the individual accessories. On top of that you'll have to look for another good deal - might as well buy everything together. Time is also money.
  24. Whoops, mistook for top 10 LEGO castle sets of all time. Hemlock Stronghold isn't really a castle either. Target had them marked 75% off at one point. So that's $25 USD or 2.5 cents per piece!
