  1. Very nice, I think legoman also made one of these. The droid is very clever, and to scale as far as I can tell. However, despite what others say, I think that adding another seat for Padme would benefit your entry. Other than that, the rickshaw looks great. If you have any cloth that would fit on the canopy of the seat (such as the cloth from a Lego tent), that might look neat.
  2. It's too late for the first version, but I did for the new and improved one. Based on reactions, I'll decide which version I should use in the contest. If I end up using the old one, I'll change it back and take a bird's eye view shot. So, here is the new Z09 Light (not so much now?) Cargo Transport. Overview Front Right Side Left Side Back Top The main differences between the old and new versions are in the middle. In the new version, I switched around and added some dark green bricks, removed one (of two) "engine" pieces, and sort of "fused" the windshield area into the cargo protection (dark green bricks). The cargo area can now hold a whopping 6 small boxes, or two large crates. It also looks more armored now due to the extra layer of bricks added to prevent the cargo from falling out, so adding weapons and changing the ship's origin and/or purpose is a possibility. More pictures of both versions are in my Flickr set.

Well, it's good to know that you're still here. May I ask why? That irritates me, too, but anywhere, like in a hallway or on the sidewalk. Go to your right, people! I sure hope you don't have a kid that would press that dial immediately. Everyone hates mosquitoes. I just say, hey, you have your Halo, NBA 2K?, etc. fests, and I don't make fun of you for it. All words of wisdom there. Another thing I'm not fond of is when people never say "Bless you" when you sneeze. Or don't use manners at all, for that manner.
  4. Obviously. Good job, anyways. I like the door on your character's home. I don't know about starting the chapter (leader privileges ), but this could definitely be used in the chapter. Just don't limit yourself to not changing it, such as the characters in the scene.
  5. Thanks, Oky. I will try to make the cargo space bigger and add some engines and whatnot. However, Clone O'Patra basically has my same thoughts on having weapons on the ship: Thanks to you, to. I'll try to build up that cargo space.
  6. I saw Storm Over Ryloth on YouTube, and it was pretty good. I liked the acting a lot better than in other episodes, but Anakin shouldn't have a "soft side". He was too mushy-gushy towards Ashoka when she failed the first assault. I was thinking the same thing. At first, we were complaining about Greivous episodes all being the same; Republic victories and Greivous escaping, but now there's not enough. I also enjoy a new CIS general, but I think the tow (Greivous and other CIS generals) could be balanced more. A Greivous victory, or any CIS victory for that matter, would be nice. On another note, I was glad to see Wat Tomber make an appearance. The last time we saw him was in ATOC, way back in '02. This brings hope of other old CIS leader making appearances, such as Poggle the Lesser and Dooku or even Sideous (we haven't seen him at all). Yeah, what was that? When it's blue, he's happy, when it's red, he's mad? It was distracting, though, and I had to go back in the video because I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. I agree, those are much cooler than hologram projectors. Well, they probably cost a lot, but the producers must figure that kids don't really care, and I suppose it's all for the better outcome of the episode.
  7. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Thanks. The cargo can hold up to three crates, I just put one in so that you could see the ship better.
  8. The Z09 was used for many years throughout the galaxy, sometime between Darth Maul's discovery and the end of the Empire. It is used to quickly transport crates of goods from one place to the next. It can hover for short distances, and is meant for on-planet transportation. The two green flaps on the front can open to brake, close to accelerate, turn left to turn the vehicle left, and turn right to turn the vehicle right. There are some of these that have been commandeered by smugglers and pirates to transport drugs and black market items. However, this is an official government transport, as you can see that it is unarmed. Top/ Overall View Left Side Right Side Front Back I made this using parts only from the Jungle Cutter set, minus the windshield, rear lights, nose pieces, and the bley box. Also, please visit my Flickr set for more pictures. Thanks for looking, and feedback is appreciated.
  9. Just because the name is different doesn't mean they aren't the same thing. TLG may not always get the name right (such as Vader's TIE Fighter, instead of Advanced). I know KimT has already made his judgment, but these are just my thoughts. Great work, though, Darth Yoda, I really like the seat.
  10. Err, yes, I meant those names. The show is too confusing to begin with, but at least I was close. I'll change them right now.
  11. Hello, I have recently been watching a lot of Lost (T.V. show) online, and I wanted to make some minifigure versions of the characters. Without further ado, here are some that I have made so far: Jack Kate Sawyer Sayid Desmond Locke Ben Richard Sun Jin Christian Ana Lucia Charlie Vignette Thanks for looking, and feedback is always welcome. I will certainly be doing more Lost figures in the future. You can also see them on my Flickr set.
  12. Very clever. I had no idea Dew was so popular on Tatooine. Cool sign, too. A bacta tank.
  13. It flies, though. High above the ground. Just like a helicopter. I'll get to work on one of those, then.
  14. Millacol88, don't worry about it, please take your time. I also changed the pictures of my post, and I indexed it, too. I finally updated JD's character profile, too. Next, to make the first post shorter, I'm going to move the overviews to this post, and replace all of the writing with a link to this one in the first post. So, here are the overviews: Season 1 The Star Wars Comic Game: Chapter 1 - An Overview In a deserted industrial section of Coruscant, Commander Jim Butcher was on a mission to assassinate a drug dealer, when suddenly an armed hover transport popped up and opened fire on him and his men. Fortunately, Palin Jax, the head of the shadow division, was near to come to his aid. But to their surprise, the drug dealers were supported by Droidekas and Battle Droids in their fight. In the meanwhile, the buyer from the drug deal made his escape. Jim decided to pursue him while Palin left for a mysterious personal mission, and as Jim was following the drug lord, he ran into two civilians, trader Moda Annix and engineer Oky Wan Kenobi. They joined forces to fight their way out of the battle and meet yet another ally: Lt. Col. Thok, the leader of the Shock Troopers. Together, they tracked the drug lord's ship to the planet of Utapau. On the way, Oky Wan had to deploy from the team due to a technical failure on his ship. He performed an emergency landing in a Republic Cruiser where he met the grenade-loving Lieutnant MacK, who just came back from a mission to rescue prisoners from the latest freighter overtaken by the CIS. One of these prisoners turned out to be a drug dealer with an important information to give. So, they questioned him and found out that the Seperatists are building a secret weapon, a time machine to be exact, and are planning to use it to prevent the clone army to ever fall into the hands of the Republic so that they can take over the galaxy with ease. In order to find out more, Oky Wan and MacK are sent to the Utapau System to join Jim and the others in their quest for the rogue drug lord. Little do they know that their friends are fighting against a swarm of Vulture Droids which appeared once they had entered the atmosphere of Utapau. Thok's ship was hit and he had to make an emergency landing. He has now wandered off with only a handful of his men while the others are looking for him and the drug lord. And in the midst of it all, a happless Easy 501 is fighting his own battle against the CIS on the ice planet of Hoth... The Star Wars Comic Game: Chapter 2 - An Overview After crashing on Utapau, Butcher, Annix, and Thok and his troops continued to pursue the drug lord Kaeder on foot in the shadows of the enourmous sinkhole cities. Finally, they were able to locate him and overhear him talking to a bounty hunter. It turns out that the drugs that he took by force back on Coruscant were meant to be an essential part of the separatists' time machine, the secret weapon they were working on. A young citizen called William Jones overheard this conversation as well, but soon got into trouble with Republic forces. Trying to find out more, they followed the two criminals into a building. Unfortunately, they got caught and put into different cells, but they were able to send out an SOS before that. Meanwhile, MacK and Oky Wan were on their way to Utapau in order to go undercover and find Kaeder and help their Republic friends, using a freighter that looked suspiciously much like the one MacK blew up a little while ago. They were able to land on the planet without problems, but right afterwards, they got captured and sold to Doc Russo, a pit fighting slave driver, by a Pau'an traitor called Parrah Dox. MacK and Oky Wan woke up in a cell together with three other slaves. One of them who introduced himself as Xela approached them and offered his help in exchange for freedom, so they sat together and devised an escape plan. At the same time in a different part of the city, Garviel Loken, a Republic spy, had picked up the signal of a Republic-loyal ship having entered the atmosphere that MacK's freighter had sent out and was on his way to greet them. The next morning, MacK and Oky Wan were confronted by Draze, one of the two drug dealers who had provided MacK and Oky Wan with information about the separatists' plan. It was then revealed that it was him who sold them out. While Draze told them that he would be watching the pit fight they were about to be forced to fight, MacK was able to "borrow" Draze's blaster. Then, they were led to the pit arena where they met Loken who had been captured during his attempt to find them. The three were thrown into the pit and had to defend themselves against a sharakan, a shark man. Using the stolen blaster, MacK was able to make the beast attack Draze in the audience, which cued Xela to break through the ground with his pick, allowing the four of them to escape in between all the chaos. They walked through the crystal mines that Xela had been forced to work in until now. Oky Wan suspected that these were part of the time machine as well and took one with him. After fighting off some super battle droids at the end of the tunnel, they left on a speeder loaded with explosives and headed for Garviel's secret hideout. There, they stocked up on weapons and split up. While MacK and Oky Wan left to free Jim and the others, Garviel led the other former slaves on a mission to destroy a CIS core ship in order to create a distraction so that they could escape. MacK and Oky Wan were able to free Jim and Thok and even found out that General Grievous is the mind behind the time travel project, but they were too late to save Annix who was taken captive by another bounty hunter. It's obvious that Grievous wants to use him as bait to capture the others who know too much in his opinion, and maybe even use him as a lab rat to test the time machine too. They all returned to MacK's freighter where they were surprised not to find Garviel and the others and started worrying. Jim and Oky Wan left to check on them. Meanwhile, aboard the core ship, Garviel and his team were just finished setting up the explosives when they were attacked by battle droids. During this fight, Zues and Mendis, the two other former slaves, lost their lives. Afterwards, Garviel met a force-strong woman named Beqin who he believed to have defeated on a mission some years ago. As it turns out, she survived somehow and is now yet another pawn of Count Dooku, but her intentions are still unclear. She was just about to eliminate Garviel and Xela, when Xela set off the charges in a selfless act to allow his new friends to flee. Garviel got out just in time, survived, and got picked up by Oky Wan and Jim. Shortly thereafter, MacK and Thok brought the freighter around and they all left the planet, following the core ship which had been able to take off despite the damage Xela had caused and was now heading for the ice planet Hoth. It was Hoth where Grievous ordered his minions to move the time machine to, so it might be on that very core ship. It's a good thing too, seeing as the poor Easy 501 is still struggling against the CIS forces attacking his outpost, even though he is already receiving help from a clone commander called Rex. The Star Wars Comic Game: Chapter 3 - An Overview After landing safely on Hoth, Jim, Thok, Oky Wan, MacK, and a wounded Garviel started to make their way to Easy 501's outpost while Skipper 24 and William Jones, two new allies from Utapau, stayed with the freighter. Our heroes had to face many obstacles like Homing Spider Droids and Wampas, but they also made some new friends. Adam, a Republic spy, and clone commander Rex and his team joined the group. Half of them almost died on the way to the sieged outpost, but in the end, they all made it there in one piece using a strange all-terrain vehicle with surprisingly advanced technology that they found in the snow. Once there, they were greeted by Easy 501. He told them to call him Wouwie and offered to help the group on their mission in return for the help they had provided in his fight against the droids. They were able to evacuate the outpost in an RGS just in time before the droid force teared it down. Later, Adam revealed to them that the vehicle from before was an AT-AT, sent here from the future by the separatists a year ago in a time travel experiment. He also told them that the CIS was now crafting mutants that were half human, half Felucian mushroom, and the only living tissue that could survive the time travel process. These mutants were being made in a facility nearby, so they decided to go and look for clues about the location of the time machine there. They all flew back to MacK's freighter and split up. While Jim, Thok, MacK, Wouwie, and Adam jumped into the freighter to get to the facility, Oky Wan, Garviel, Rex, and the clones continued in the gunship to go and search the crashed CIS core ship for clues as well. When Jim's team arrived at the location that Adam had led them to, Jim entered the underground facility together with Adam while the others waited for a signal from them to enter from the back. After outrunning a swarm of mutants, they came to a black door. In that moment, something very strange happened: Adam split into two different persons. One of them, the ghost of a dark jedi that had been resting inside of Adam for some time, knocked out Jim and made his way to the hangar of the facility in order to leave the planet and wreck havoc in the galaxy. The other, Adam's true self, was flung into the future, where he woke up to find himself in the possession of a lightsaber. Meanwhile, Oky Wan, Garviel, and the clone commando were searching through the wreckage of the core ship, without success. They were just about to return to the gunship as their communications were cut off and they were ambushed by the bounty hunter who kidnapped Moda Annix on Utapau. Fortunately, the gunship flew in and shot away all the battle droids that surrounded them. Being the coward that he was, the bounty hunter fled into the bowls of the core ship. Garviel ran after him, but suddenly, he was transported through time into the future. There, he met up with Adam and an aged Jim Butcher, who told them all about the Empire, the rebels, and what had happened by the end of the Clone Wars. It turned out that he and his rebel engineers had recreated and perfected the separatists' time machine so that they could warn them about the future. It was now up to Garviel to warn the others and stop the group from destroying the separatist's time machine. After Garviel had vanished, Oky Wan continued the pursuit of the bounty hunter without him. He followed him to a dead end where the hunter used Annix as a hostage to escape. But the two Republicans were able to overthrow the coward and reclaim their weapons. As they walked back, they were ambushed again. This time it was Beqin, the female dark jedi. She questioned them about Garviel's whereabouts, but since they couldn't give her an answer, she killed Annix. Afterwards, she turned toward a wounded Oky Wan. She didn't kill him right away, though, because she could sense a lot of anger in him. She offered him a chance to turn to the dark side and enhance his force powers to be able to fulfill his dreams. Oky Wan was tempted, but could not make up his mind, so he changed the subject by ordering her to kill him. She was about to do so when Rex and the clones suddenly busted in and drove her away. They returned to the gunship and headed toward the facility where Jim was just regaining consciousness. He stood up and opened the mysterious black door, but the room behind it turned out to be a simple conference room. Suddenly, he was attacked by General Grievous from the back, and the two engaged in a lightsaber duel. In the future, the rebels were preparing to send Adam and Garviel back to their own time, but when the Battle of Hoth started, the two time travelers offered to help the rebels out. On speeder bikes, they were able to fend off the first wave of imperials. They were assisted by a double agent called Jammie Dodger. But as the imperials started to invade the Hoth base, the rebels quickly sent Adam and Garviel back. Jammie Dodger was sent with them for support. The three managed to return to their own time successfully, but on the way, there was a glitch that resulted in Garviel being left on board a separatist cruiser above Hoth, right in front of Beqin. While the other two appeared in front of Oky Wan, MacK, Wouwie, and Thok and told them what had happened, Bequin revealed to Garviel that she is from an alternative future where Garviel protected the time machine, that caused the separatists to win the Clone Wars. She then revealed to him that she was sent from the future by the Jim Butcher of her alternate universe to prevent Garviel from saving the separatists' time machine plans. Garviel then defended himself against his arch nemesis. Surprisingly, he did that using force lightning that suddenly shot out of his fingers. Alarmed by the news of Garviel being in the hands of the separatists, the group of Republicans on Hoth decided to get Jim out of the CIS facility and leave the planet to rescue their friend. They entered the facility and Adam led them to the place where he had left Jim. There, they found him dueling Grievous and came to his aid. They were able to get the Droid General to leave. After Adam told them the story of his "evil half", they exited the facility to find out that the very same dark jedi had destroyed Mack's freighter and damaged the gunship before leaving the planet. Skipper24 was barely alive and William Jones was nowhere to be found, so he has been assumed dead. The group left in the gunship and devised a plan to rescue Garviel and destroy the separatist cruiser. It worked well, but Mack had to sacrifice himself to set off the bomb in the cruiser. Now, our heroes are on their way to Felucia, where they hope to find the time machine and stop the dark jedi... The Star Wars Comic Game: Chapter 4 - An Overview After our heroes arrived in the Felucia System, a large space battle ensued as the CIS tried to prevent them from landing on the planet at all costs. Wouwie's Republic Attack Cruiser was aided in this battle by others which had received their call for backup. Amongst those friendly Cruisers were that of Commander Bob and that of Commander Pr0. The Republic could hold its own against the droid forces for a while, but amongst all the chaos, Adam sabotaged Wouwie's Cruiser and fled secretly in an escape pod. Soon, the shield generator of our heroes' Cruiser broke down, rendering the ship a sitting duck, so Jim, Oky Wan, and Thok had to abandon the ship in an ARC 170 Starfighter while Wouwie stayed with his men. On the planet, the three made their way to Garviel who had left previously with a few troops on a special mission to take out an enemy out post that was scrambling their communications. Meanwhile, after getting shot down by the CIS, Commander Pr0 crash-landed on Felucia. After walking through a forest for a while, he met Adam, and the two engaged in a lightsaber duel. Adam won and forced Pr0 to introduce himself. After that, they became partners and made their way to the rendezvous point where they were supposed to meet the others. Garviel succeeded in his mission, and soon everyone joined him and his troops at the outpost. But the droids noticed that the outpost wasn't under their control anymore, so they sent a whole little army over to retake it. Jim, Oky, and Thok got trapped behind the enemy line and used that opportunity to sabotage the droids. They hijacked an MTT and used its weapons to take out every droid in sight. When the droids were almost defeated, they nuked the outpost in a desperate final act. Fortunately, all of our heroes were able to survive the explosion, thanks to JD who, being from the future, was able to warn them in time. Jim, Oky, and Thok hid in a supplement cooling storage unit (aka. a fridge) while the others hid in a bunker underneath the outpost. When they reunited, William Jones revealed himself to be alive. Apparently he had left MacK's cruiser to check something out before it was blown up. They all took off in their RGSs and flew to the large Separatist base where they assumed the time machine to be hidden. Thanks to blueprints of the base (which were mysteriously supplied to them by Adam), they could locate a secret entrance, but they were unable to land anywhere near it due to anti-air turrets that were arranged around the base. Oky Wan took the responsibility to drop down to those turrets with his jetpack and take them out. Once on the ground, he received help from JD's younger present self who was just recovering from an attack from a bounty hunter. Together, they hijacked one of the turrets and used it to take out the other ones. At last, they all entered the base made their way to the location where Adam's blueprints claimed the time machine to be. Meanwhile, Pr0 returned from a quick trip to his orbiting Cruiser. He had researched the bounty hunter that attacked JD's present self in order to help the future JD who was suffering from the bounty hunter's attack on his present self. When Pr0 returned the destroyed communications outpost where he had left the others, he only found Will Jones who had stayed there to investigate a secret room he had discovered earlier. The only thing Will has found in there was a droid called 8P-4C. The droid promised to help them in exchange for upgrades, and so he and Will joined Pr0 and future JD on their RGS to go and help the others in the CIS base. They flew over there, but were unable to locate Jim and the others. They were unable to communicate with them since a communications tower on the separatist base made any attempt at contacting someone inside the base useless. So, the four devised a plan to hit the tower with Wouwie's almost-destroyed Attack Cruiser. Their plan worked, but Skipper, who was still highly wounded and the only one left on the ship, had to sacrifice himself in order for Pr0, JD, Will, and 8P-4C to survive the crash. After they locked onto Oky Wan's signal, the four infiltrated the base and caught up with the others. When they all reached our heroes entered the room where the time machine was supposed to be, they had to find out that it was a trap set up by the dark jedi that used to be part of Adam. The time machine turned out to be a fake, and the group was attacked by a whole attack force of MagnaGuards. After those were defeated, General Grievous himself appeared and would have destroyed them, if Commander Bob and his troops wouldn't have blasted through the wall and driven the droid general into retreat. Bob joined the team, and they were about to follow Grievous, when suddenly the dark jedi emerged from a dark corner of the room and introduced himself as Ragnakk Vohr. He revealed to them that he was sabotaging them by controlling Adam's actions ever since they entered the Felucia System. Jim started to duel him while Pr0 fought the possessed Adam. Vohr and Adam won, and Vohr ordered Adam to kill his friends, but Adam fought the dark jedi's mind control and refused to do it. In return, Vohr threatened to eliminate them himself and was about to kill Garviel when suddenly Beqin appeared and stabbed Vohr in the back. She continued to chase Garviel through an abondoned warehouse where Garviel finally managed to defeat her. Afterwards, he caught up with the others who had fought a couple more MagnaGuards and the bounty hunter that attacked JD's present self earlier. The futureJD finished his business with the bounty hunter, and they all entered the secret time machine room where Grievous was about to execute his plan of sending the mushroom mutants back in time. Grievous mocked them and threw present JD, who he had taken with him after their last fight, into a time portal. Adam, Thok, and Pr0 followed him into that portal to help him, using up all the Utapauan crystals that fueled the machine. Jim dueled Grievous while the others fought a horde of battle droids that entered the room. During this fight, Will and future JD got heavily wounded. Jim, Oky, Garviel, Wouwie, and Bob were forced to retreat into a hallway which turned out to be a dead end. In that moment, Adam, Thok, Pr0 and present JD appeared out of thin air. It appears that the time portal simply took them a little bit into the future. With the help of one of Thok's EMP grenades they could rid themselves of the approaching battle droids and return to the room with the time machine. When they entered the room, they had to find out that Grievous had killed Will, future JD, and 8P-4C while they were gone and he continued to kill present JD who had tried to save his future self. Upon this, Jim, Adam, and Pr0 started fighting Grievous with their lightsabers, but to no avail. He killed them one at a time and continued to his massacre until each and everyone of them was dead. However, Oky Wan barely survived his attack, and using the crystal he had taken from the Utapau mines, he went back in time and used the time machine to prevent it from ever being created. This caused a paradox in the time/space continuum that transported our heroes back to the beginning of their adventure. Now, all that has happened wont happen again, and all the brave men who sacrificed themselves to make their mission a success wont have to die. The only proof of the fact that the reversed events did happen is the memory of the eleven heroes. Satisfied with this happy end, they walked off to start a new adventure... Season 1 Recap In the first season of the Star Wars Comic Game, commander Jim Butcher assembled a rag-tag team of clone commanders and volunteers to pursue a rogue drug dealer who was being supported by the CIS. They tracked him down on Utapau and found out that the separatists were working on a secret weapon. This weapon turned out to be time machine. The heroic group followed General Grievous, the head of this operation, to Hoth. There, they saved the inhabitants of a sieged Republic outpost and infiltrated a separatist research facility where the enemy was developing mutants to send back in time. They also found out that the machine was located on Felucia, so they went there on board an Attack Cruiser after destroying an enemy Cruiser. Once on Felucia, they fought their way to the separatist base. Many died in the process, but finally, they got to the time machine just in time and used it to undo its own creation. In the end, the group of heroes lands at an alternate beginning of their adventure where it wouldn't happen and take off on a new adventure together. All chapter and season overviews were written by Oky Wan Kenobi
  15. I'm not sure what you mean... the two TIE Advanced pictures are of the original TIE advanced fitted with new bley colors, instead of the old blue. Thanks, Palin, and welcome back. I personally don't want to see all of the TIEs remade just for the new color, but I am hoping for a (bley) Defender soon. I think it's fine, since the movie versions were blocky. I do see what you're getting at, though, maybe a 6x6 disc would be a better windshield piece? It would certainly be more useful than the regular windshield in MOCs, that's for sure.
  16. Nice job, I like this. I don't have any SB sets, but this is definitely worth a try if I ever get one. Also, this might be better off in the Minifig Customization Workshop.
  17. Hello there, and welcome to my review of the new version of Vader's TIE. This is the first of the Anniversary sets set for release in 2009, and probably the most anticipated of the first wave for Original Trilogy fans. But, does it live up to it's expectations? How does it compare to previous TIE models? You'll soon find out as you read on... Set Name: 8017 Darth Vader's TIE Fighter Number of Pieces: 251 Number of Minifigures: 1 Price: 29.99 USD/ 29.35 GBP/ 36.99 EUR Theme: Star Wars- Classic Year Released: 2009 Brickset Bricklink Catalog Flickr Let's start the review. Box The box is what you might call a blast from the past. It has several items on it that imitate those of 1999 Star Wars boxes. The main two are the gold Star wars logo (instead of the Clone Wars blue or the older white-on-red logos) and the classic design on the upper right corner. The design with the seven characters of Original Trilogy Star Wars may have changed a little, but the relationship is obvious. Also worthy of note are the silver anniversary icon in the bottom left corner, and the "EXCLUSIVE ANNIVERSARY EDITION" banner on the bottom. The icon has a picture of Darth Vader in minifigure form, and writing around the edge saying "LEGO Star Wars 10 Year Anniversary 1999-2009". Back of Box The back of the box shows the usual- the features of the set and other sets released in the same wave. We see the classic design in the upper right corner again, but more importantly is the box itself. When you open the box, you'll notice that you have to punch out holes, instead of the regular taped flaps. Obviously TLG wanted to make the set as "classic" as possible. Instruction Booklet There's nothing special here, except for the anniversary icon and the classic design. However, the banner is not present on the manual. Random Instruction Page Here's a random page of the booklet. As you can see, piece call-outs are not present. Then again, they're probably not needed for a set of this size. Poster This is a neat poster in the back of the booklet, featuring the Republic Shuttle and the AAT. Also in the back of the manual are highlighted features of the set, sets released in the same wave, and the usual Lego Club/ Magazine subscription. Now, let's on to the set itself. Overview Well, this is it: Vader's TIE Advanced. It's actually pretty big compared to a minifigure, so I'm guessing it's to scale with the movie version. It's also pretty movie-accurate, especially with the change of the TIE color scheme (previous Lego TIE fighters used blue as the primary color, but the now it has been changed to gray, for the first time. The real color of TIE fighters can be debated among Star Wars fans). The ship itself has some nice detailing on it, although the dreaded sticker sheet is included. Front The model looks neat, I suppose, and is fun to swoosh around. It has that "new" look about it that have been found in recent Star Wars sets. You'll notice that there are two stickered pieces that are seen from this view; one just above the cockpit, and another that is towards the middle of the ship's body. In addition to these stickers, there are also two printed parts in this picture; the 4x4 disc just above the cockpit, and the cockpit windshield. What a pain that would've been if we had to apply stickers to those pieces! Also note the black stud on either side of the cockpit. We'll get into those later. Cockpit As you open up the windshield, you see the cockpit. The windshield lifts up in the normal manner that most TIE ships do, except the two 1x1 clips (from older TIE models) have been replaced by a 2x2 hinge piece, for more stability. The cockpit itself is quite roomy, and the addition of the 2x2 brick piece in the back that "dips" inward is nice to accommodate Vader's protruding helmet. One con about the cockpit, though, is that the (printed) control panel is on the floor. Why would it be there? A 2x1 brick or a 2x1 hinge piece could have easily fit in the cockpit, but maybe it is for easier accessibility for children. Flick-Fire Missiles Yes, this set does come with flick-fire missiles, which might be a disappointment for some of you. But, they aren't so bad for this set. Remember those two black studs on the front of the ship? Those are actually attached to the missile pieces, which are pushed out by the mechanism shown here. That Technic piece attached to the Technic bar is pushed in, and the missile on that side is ejected from the ship. This is a neat way to sort of "hide" the missiles, instead of having the usual Technic "hole" pieces, where you actually flick the missiles. However, these only fly about a half of a foot, but it's a nice play feature for some. Also note the two trans-red studs, which offer detail, and the detailed stickered piece mentioned before. Those two, plain gray 2x2 tiles hold together most of the black plates on the middle of the ship, so they often pop off. Flick-Fire Missiles These flick-fire missiles are basically the same as any other, but the black stud blends in much better than transparent or cone pieces. Wings The wings are pretty basic, but follow the design of the movie's version. The wing sets on each side are exactly the same, and the top and bottom wing on each set are mirror images of each other. There is some greebling on the wings, and there is one stickered tile on each wing set. The new gray color scheme is most noticeable here, and note the hinges that are on all four wings. Hinged Wings The hinge system on each wing allows moderate flexibility for them, so you can see the wings at a better angle. Minifigure Finally, we come to the single minifigure of the set, Darth Vader himself. The Vader minifig has had some changes in the past, but none as dramatic as this one. For starters, he has a brand-new torso design, which not only adds robe detailing, but this little guy also has a better breathing er... "machine" plate on his torso. The silver markings on the torso are metallic, and have a grainy feel to them. It's probable that these markings could wear off due to "playing" with it, so I would just leave the figure on display. Additionally, there is a new lightsaber hilt color for all Jedi and Sith this year: metallic silver. This new idea provides the ability for lightsaber hilts to be much more attractive than in its light bley form, but also less expensive than the chrome version. I personally prefer my lightsabers chrome, but this plan of action is understandable, as chrome paint is getting more expensive for the Lego Group to use. I'm sure chrome hilts will still appear in limited edition sets, though. Vader Comparison here you can take note of the differences between the new Darth Vader (also found in the Death Star Playset of 2008) and an older version (this one is from the 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer). You can see slight differences in the faces, with the new one having a slightly more "cartoonish" look, similar to the case of the new Darth Maul figure. You can also compare the two different lightsaber hilts, which both look better than bley, in my opinion. But the main difference, as I said, is the redesigned torso. TIE Interceptor New Color As an added bonus, I've included a few pictures of what a TIE Interceptor (2006) might look like if it was colored bley instead of blue. I see a major difference, and for the better, I think. The bley is a lot more accurate, and a lot less retro, and perhaps less... obnoxious or outstanding than the blue. Well, the review has just about finished, it's time to wrap it up with the... FINAL VERDICT Build: 6/10, Nothing special or interesting here, should take the average builder about 40 minutes. Playability: 6/10, There really isn't much playability to be had for this set. You can swoosh it around, flick the missiles, and place Vader in the cockpit, but that's about it. This and the 6212 X-Wing Fighter would make a great pair, to recreate that famous trench scene. Swooshability: 7.5/10, It is good for swooshing around, and pieces rarely fall of when you do so, as long as you hold it right. Minifigs: 10/10, you really couldn't have asked for more. This Vader figure was only included in one other set (which was quite expensive), and it's really the only figure needed. Design: 6/10, The middle section holds together pretty well, and the cockpit design has definitely improved since previous TIE models, but the wings fall of very easily, and as you try to put back on the pieces that fell off, more pieces do the same. Most frustrating. Price: 6/10, 30 USD for little more than 200 pieces is definitely a rip-off, but TLG could have slapped a "Limited Edition" sticker on there and made it 50 USD, and the rare Vader is included, so it's not completely regretful to pay this price. Pieces: 6/10, There's not much to see here, but perhaps those bley tiles will come in handy. Overall Score: 6.78/10, Not a bad set, but not a great one, considering it's the first of the 2009 anniversary collection. It could have had a lot more details and greebling, and perhaps have had a lower price. I would recommend this to any hardcore fan who wants to recreate that famous trench scene to go along with their X-Wing, but if your looking for a good parts pack, or just a reason to spend money, this is not for you. I'm sorry to say that this set did not make my favorite SW sets list (if I even have one...) And that wraps it all up, Vader's TIE in a nutshell. Expect to see more SW and Indy reviews in the very near future. And, as always, feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
  18. There's a video of the complete 2009 Lego SW collection here.
  19. Yes, thank you. I see you've just opened this, so I didn't mean to hassle you. Amazing prize, by the way, those guys did an awesome job.
  20. Hey, nice idea for a subforum. Just a quick question, though. You said that our entries could be from the SW universe or our own imagination, yet you also said it has to be non-canon. Do you mean a set that has never been created in Lego?
  21. I was just kidding about the statement above. But really, we are all kind of equal in rank. Maybe the older members have a bit more authority, but that's it. And I think all of our characters know at least some basic military skills. You just answered your own question (if it was a question). Sounds good, just be sure to not have your own side plot for too long. Of course, I assume you've read the rules already. Once you make a character and a bio, you'll be all set for Chapter 2. Speaking of which, The date for the beginning of Chapter 2 is Saturday, March 7, possibly earlier. Yep, that's it. Oh, and expect those revised pictures tomorrow or Thursday.
  22. I'd hate to find out, but let me check... $4,920 is my estimate, with help from Brickset and a calculator. And that's on Star Wars alone. Ouch.
  23. Excellent work, this is the Tantive IV that I've been waiting to see. It's really accurate to the movie, and the fun little details are great, like the custom Captain Antillies.
  24. I am thinking that our characters will stay on Coruscant for the beginning of Chapter 2, and go to a different planet from there. Dooku will probably be after that holocron. Sure, that would be good. Don't you get technical with me! I thought they were both in the same area, with the lab right under the Sith temple. And I wasn't the one who had him running around in the first place, I just followed up on what someone else said. Did Pr0 and everyone freeing Adam free Luun? I remember him fighting at the area. Yes, master. I think either Pr0 or TimBit called for reinforcements. Alright, alright, fine. There aren't really ranks, everyone just bows to me.
  25. Alright, since the first chapter looks just about over, I'll end now. End of Chapter 1 Members, please continue posting in the discussion thread, while the starting date of Chapter 2 is determined. Anyone wanting to join can also do so in the discussion thread while we take this break. Thanks to all of the players, Season 2 is off to a good start!
