  1. Once the ships were breaking the atmosphere, the top middle section of the lead Venator slid open, allowing fighters and bombers to fly towards the mass of Seperatist ships, already in battle formation. With Butcher in The Hornet at the tip of the V-shaped flock of V-19s, the Republic prepared to defend. Vulture droids and Hyena bombers were making their way to the squad. Just before the battle was about to commence, Butcher spotted a small, gray fighter flanked by several droid gunships zoom away from a capital ship. Greivous. Jim relayed the message to Oky Wan, and then prepared his pilots. "Hang on boys!" he yelled through the comm link. "We've got you're back, red leader" said the second-in-command, Stars. "Green squad will be on our tail". The masses of droid and Republic fighters seemed to collide. Jim weaved in between Vulture droids, shooting down anything in range. Already two of his squad and one of the bomber squad had been annihilated. Red and blue cannon fire flew overhead from the opposing cruisers. Finally, after what had seemed like hours, Butcher and his squad punched through the droid fleet, allowing the bomber squad to follow and wreck havoc on the capital ships. "Alright, objective completed, return to the ships and protect them at all costs. Full speed." said Jim. The remnants of his fleet turned around, and followed the Vulture droids, firing at their backs. "Sir, we have gunships on our tail!" said Stars. Sure enough, a dozen droid gunships were catching up, and started to fire missiles. "Watch out!" "Spin your fighter!" Most of the squad had out-maneuvered the missles, but Stars wasn't so lucky. A missle connected with his wing, sending him spinning toward a cluster of Vulture droids. The ships connected, and the whole cluster blew up. "Stars!" Butcher called. But it was too late, and there was no time for sympathy. Then, a blue hologram flickered on the Hornets holopad. It was the admiral. "Sir, we must retreat! There are too many, and reinforcements are arriving!" Sure enough, a new band of CIS cruisers appeared from hyperspace. Jim paused. They couldn't allow the CIS forces to land. But what could be done? Already, ships carrying MTTs were leaving the enemy cruisers. "Alright, call the retreat. Return to the planet surface, and gather as many forces as you can".
  2. What...? Weren't we all on the same planet except for Jifel who was on some ARC training thing? And I'm not on a marble planet, I'm on a stone planet. (The marble was from the original shot, but I didn't think I needed to edit it, because... that's what color the landing bay is ). I must have missed the part where we were on Raxus Prime... oh, well, I'll edit my post so that I'm on RP. I have no idea what TimBit, Bob, and Jifel are doing, I was only aware that JD and Oky were scouting or something... being watched. I think everyone needs to regroup on RP, and continue the story from there. Hopefully I can pay more attention then, and everyone will understand what's going on, so we can stop discussing the story and actually play it. By the way, Jifel, what I meant when I said the troops and pilots were getting back in the Venators, I meant the clones and personnel who would be piloting or helping out on the ships, not the whole battalion, who will stay on RP, scouting and setting up defenses and such.
  3. Sorry, Guss, too late. Thanks, Erdy. I don't like the trains because I think that they're not easy, with changing times and platforms, and getting off at the wrong stop. Last time we went, we got on the wrong train and got stuck in a train station for four hours, and didn't get back to Austria until 2 in the morning. I know it's not really anybody's fault but ours, but I just think a car is much better because you control where you go. Other than that, though, it was great. I'll try to get some pics from the new camera up this week.
  4. Oh, sorry about that. It just looked more finalized to me, and I don't remember seeing it. "I'll be more careful"
  5. Here's a good picture of the Hoth set, found on whung's folder:
  6. Hah, nice title, KimT. Seriously, how does that not look like bear on a bubble?
  7. Jim stepped out of The Fortitude, pseudo-holocron safely locked in his belt. He looked over the landscape. It was a junk planet, with little population, minus a few Jawa scavengers and robots. No need bringing innocent races into the war. He was actually quite surprised that they hadn't already been attacked. Surely, the holocron must be Dooku's top priority. "Commander", Jim's comm link beeped. "Yes, Sergent?". "All ships have landed, and scouts are already on their way, including Commanders JD and Kenobi". "Excellent, prepare all artillery and keep a lookout for incoming Seperatist cruisers. They should be hot on our tail". "Yes, sir." Jim disconnected the link, and stepped over to The Fortitude. He headed to the landing bay, and hopped in his personal fighter, The Hornet. It was time to prepare the squad of V-19 Torrent pilots that he would be commanding the air assault on the attacking Seps. He flew over to a cluster of landed Venators and set his fighter down in one's docking bay. Jim then took a speed-shuttle to the main bridge. "Order all troops and pilots to return to their ships, and prepare to take off. I assume all ships have been refueled?" he said to the officer in charge. "Yes, sir, of course sir" said the captain. "Good. We don't have much time before the Seps arrive". All troops report to their ships. All troops to their ships said the PAs of all the Venators in the area. Once all of the clones and personnel were in, the Venators and Acclamators lifted from the surface, ready for battle.
  8. Alright, sounds fair. The Snail Tank is a 2009 set, so I don't see the point in not discussing it's final version. I'll shut up about that misprint crap, though. Alright, alright. I really do hope the discs have printing of some kind, though. Regarding the information of the first post, KimT, a few things that you missed are: - The Midi-scale MF is a Wal-Mart exclusive - This might be a minor point, but perhaps you could add that the Grievous mini fighter was released in March/April? - The price of the GG fighter is/ was 3.45 USD That's all. On a side note, I wonder what material the Endor Rebel's helmets are made of? They don't look like solid plastic, but maybe a rubbery/plasticy substance, like Kit Fisto's head.
  9. Wow, wonderful photography, very professional. I have to say that I like the landscape/nature shots infinitely better than the plain indoor shots, but great idea using the iPod light. I will, thanks very much. That's my current one ("Look sir, Droids!"). It fits perfectly on my desktop, without any icons covering the troopers. The addition of the crashed escape pod makes the photo even better. The Yoda shot is going to be my next one. I also like the new speeder bike shot, and I actually like the sun glare on the left speeder, it adds a sense of realism to it.
  10. Wow, nice. I love the rock face and the hallway. The only thing I would perhaps add is some tiling to the boathouse roof, to smooth it out. I'm looking forward to more.
  11. Thanks Skipper, I don't believe these have been posted yet. These look pretty finished to me. I think Mutt's bike is a new mold. Anyway, these sets look great. The Graveyard Duel set looks much, much better than before, and the details are nice, such as the scorpions, crystal skull, and chopper. I'm not to fond of the pearl gold chest, though... It doesn't look like Indy has a beard in this set. The two Last Crusade sets look spectacular. I'm really looking forward to that Venice set, and the planes look even better than before. The Temple of Doom looks wonderful, too, maybe even worth the ridiculous price. It looks like we're getting an extra helping of Tommy guns this wave, too.
  12. I often build alternate Star Wars creations out of other sets. My advice would be this: since you're building an alternate model from scratch, let your imagination flow. You have the pieces, now you need the alternate. The biggest thing that you'll want to remember when building an alternate is that you actually don't want to start with an idea, because it won't turn out the way you want it to. Instead, just tinker with the pieces until you have the basic shape of the alternate. Then add on pieces, and change what you need to. The great thing about alternates is that it's almost guaranteed that your creation will look good because the color scheme is already there. Another nice thing is that SW alternates are much easier than themes such as IJ or City- the possibilities are much more numerous. Also, don't feel the need to use every last piece on one model, feel free to build multiple alternates from the same set (that use up all the pieces together). In other words, build more than one model to use up the pieces. Hopefully this advice is helpful.
  13. Who knows? Maybe they wanted a smoother design? Yes, I already said that. The beard seems less around the mouth, and the eyes seem bigger.
  14. But that picture that you linked too has "preliminary" written all over it, literally. The situation could be just like with the Venator, the newer version (the one very similar to the one at ToyFair) was leaked before the preliminary pictures were"legally" released. No, no, I mean my computer desktop- as in a wallpaper. Not on my desk literally.
  15. I'd say that it's not an anniversary set anymore- just a special set. I'm thinking that the new box art covers all of OT, CW, and PT sets, minus the anniversary ones. I think the new MF looks quite nice, considering it's not full scale. I especially like the printed cone piece used as the cockpit- very innovative. However, I don't think I'll be picking this up, partially because it has no minifigs, and partially because of the high price that it may be. It's nice to look at on my desktop, though. I'm liking this one, but I think it's lacking some detail. If the discs covering the "cockpit" would have been printed... or even stickered, it would have looked much better, IMO. Thanks for the new pics of the Mon Cal landing bay. The play features are nice, but other than getting it for the green A-Wing, I can't see getting it at all. Only the minifigs appeal to me, so I'll be searching BL. And it looks like they decided to keep Mon Mothma's emo-do. Finally, looking at a good final pic of the Pirate Tank, I have to say that it is pretty sweet. I like the general shape of it, and those brown and tan parts will definitely be useful. I also like the figs a lot, not something you generally see in a SW set. Have they changed Obi-Wan's face a little?
  16. I'm assuming you checked that one? Only 36% evil, but still 100% badass.
  17. Nope, now I'm back. My relatives had a computer and internet access, so I thought I'd go onto EB for a little. It was really great, and I was glad to see my grandfather (AKA C-3PO, English-German-Slovenian-Spanish relations) again. We (my family and I) went to Austria (where he lives), and climbed a mountain, and did other things. We also went to Italy, specifically Venice and Tuscany (which were both spectacular) for a week. We flew in and out of Munich, Germany, but didn't really see the city this time. Slovenia was another country, but only for a day. Nobody was there, as ski-season just ended. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to go to Croatia. So yeah, it was great (except maybe the trains...). I'll put some pictures up on my Flickr soon.
  18. About the game, I'd like to finish off the story, so if you're all willing to cooperate, I think we can do it. I'll get posting ASAP. Wow, that preview looks spectacular, JD, great work! (Ignore my PM now) I'd like to provide a voice over for my character (if he's in there ), but I don't have a mic or software. Perhaps I could try to get them, though. Looking forward to more of this.
  19. Yes, I also apologize for not posting here for a while. Being busy is my excuse as well, and I have been in Europe for the past week (thanks for posting that link, simonjedi). Seeing that there hasn't been a good post in a month or so, I'm afriad this game has just about run its course. It was fun and everything in the beginning, but I knew this wouldn't last this long, which was why I was reluctant to start another season. I'm sorry to say that I won't be participating much at all anymore, and if everyone else agrees, I think we should wrap this up somehow. I feel bad about ending this game after a full year of playing it, but all good things must come to an end.
  20. Thanks for the comments, everyone. Will do. Well, my grandfather is getting older, and it's getting harder for us to visit each other. It's possible that I will see him again after this, but going to Europe again in the near future is out of the question (due to the cost). Thanks, CGH. And now, I'm ready to leave. We're leaving tomorrow morning (central time), so goodbye one last time, until two weeks from now.
  21. Well, I'd dream of building a minifig-scaled Death Star- I can't even imagine the incredible size that it would be! Otherwise, I would continue to build a minifig-scaled version of my own house. I'm disappointed that I had to discontinue that...
  22. Aw, it'll be sad to this great project go... but I must admit that interest has quickly faded since the competition started. It was fun, though. I'll try to help out as much as I can, but no guarantees, unfortunately. Thrash, I think the layout is fine for now, unless we end up not having enough participation.
  23. Wow... I've always wondered how completed your collection was. Do you have all of the Technic sets? I, too regret not getting the Minifig packs. I still don't have a Sideous minifig... Other sets that I wish I had gotten when I had the chance are Jedi Defense I and II, Bounty Hunter Pursuit, and Jedi Duel (Dooku and Yoda). I'm sure that I'll regret not getting the Death Star Playset, too...
  24. Wow, very nice. This MOC has a sharp, defined design which I think is rare. Great mid-scale model!
  25. Happy Birthday, CopMike... or CapMike? Maybe CöpMïkë... Whatever. Happy Birthday to the real CopMike.
