  1. Sherlock Holmes: I'll go ahead and say this right away: it was alright. Downey Jr. and Jude Law were both spectacular. Downey Jr. did a really great job at the voice of Holmes- just what I imagined, with the help of the original short films. And I liked how they made Watson cool and collected, not like in the original stories. The action was pretty great as well, and the story was interesting enough to support the action. But, as great as the movie itself was, it did not lend itself well to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels and short stories. In almost every single one of those writings, hardly any action is seen, and most of the story is clue-finding and observation. The movie totally missed these aspects, as well as making Holmes a comedic fool (who somehow knows kung-fu). I did feel that they hit some parts- such as the insanity of Holmes when he was out of a case, or the logical planning when he was about to fight someone- right, and those were done really well, but for the most part, I wasn't feeling the vibe that the original stories gave me. Joel Silver (director of the Matrix trilogy), and the other producers made a nice attempt to give an entertaining show, but you might as well call it something other than Sherlock Holmes.
  2. Eh? Care to explain the sudden change of opinion, Roy? One minute you're yelling at whats-his-face for hesitating, and then you pull out yourself. Since nothing is going to get done by itself, my vote stands. And unless someone else wants to volunteer to be convicted today...
  3. C'mon, I thought I had at least a chance of winning this time. Very nice design. I especially like the chairs and the windshield, although the turquoise seat in the back sticks out a little. Nce technique with the slops in front.
  4. I think he meant in relation to the rest of the world; I remember something about South America being said.
  5. Agreed. Vote: Robert Wills/ WhiteFang You have constantly been going at it with Mr. Right. Somewhere in this game... of life, something doesn't add up. And it starts with you, Mr. Wills. I trust Mr. Right very much, and if we can't follow him, who do we turn to? The Governor, who enjoys the kill? No. He is right, you know (Mr. Right better be right), we must have unity, and therefore, "bandwagons" are required. Like the police chief said on Day 1, we can not vote, but would that be better than not voting? Standing by and letting the scum take over, with or without our help? At least we have a chance this way. So vote, or don't vote. It's up to you to decide the fate of out town.
  6. Happy Birthday, SlyOwl!
  7. Well hello there handsome! Maybe bringing in the army wasn't such a bad idea after all. That Major isn't half bad. If he's the only one accusing you, then why are you so worried? If I recall correctly, you started to question Mr. Wills yesterday, and not that there's anything wrong with that, but he was simply defending himself. Surely you are familiar with this type of argument, as it happens in every single trial?
  8. Wrong. If I remember correctly (which I do, mind you), clever Mr. Buscemi could be killed at night, but he would come up as town if investigated.
  9. *Snort* A whozzah!? Oh, we're on land. Great. The best part of the trip is already over, and I didn't even get to go outside. Boy, those shadows sure give'm the shivers. I ain't never felt that way, no'n, not even in the war, no suh. ... Are we there yet? Hm? 'n. Mmm.
  10. This is HORRIBLE! We can't have the National Guard here! Our bank has a bad reputation already! Oh, yes, and it's pretty bad that evil munchkin little girl was kidnapped. At least I can rest easy knowing that my little Andrew can stop flirting with that miscreant not be killed. Just kidnapped. And I'm going to go out on a whim here and say that it was the town vigilante who killed Martin last night, a *cough* *cough* Gatorade rock monster *cough *cough*. Why would a good guy try to kill a gremlin poor child, anyway. So who do we vote for? I swear, if I see one green uniform lay a toe in my our bank...
  11. Yes! Those are the bricks I am talking about. We haven't really used them much yet, but I look forward to when we do. They aren't nearly as flexible as Lego (only come in block shapes), but I suppose they're not intended for play.
  12. Yes? I was talking about those who are stalling, not Leanne's conviction. It would be great if we could get another vote, but it probably won't be from one of the mutes.
  13. Okay, first, let me apologize, Rhonda. I forgot you were actually gone when I stated my first accusations, and then blindly tried to follow it up once you said that you were. And since Legios confirmed it now, I understand that I was wrong. Sorry about that. The thing that threw me off was that it wasn't announced beforehand, and was only [prominently] stated in this day, which made me believe that it meant something. Join the club. It's been like this for ages. I'll bring up this guy, Ralf Simmnel, from the novel Mystical Castle. One of his quotes, if i can remember correctly was something like this: "Yes, that person seems very suspicious. I will vote for them." But never actually did. In the end, he was the last Dragon, killed by the awesome Chef Walter. ...so yeah. It won't help by saying "people! Evidence is not going to fall right into your hands, you need to vote NOW!", because it is quite obvious that they have no intention of voting, especially with only a few hours left. It's too late to change the vote, but it makes me wonder if Leanne really is scum, and these mutes are protecting her.
  14. I seriously could not stop laughing! Ho..ahahahah! Ah... it took me a couple of minutes to calm down to write this. This is by far the best stop-motion you've done, JD. Hilarious to see Pulp Fiction audio slapped on to a great clip by you. I've seen Mace Windu Uncensored (go look it up on YT), but seeing it animated like this... hilarious! I just love how the faces look. And thanks for the cameo!
  15. Land ho! Now, where the hell is that sailor???
  16. Happy Birthday, Adam! Hope you get lots of rattling gifts that aren't tied in with your Christmas ones!
  17. Oh how I love how you twist my words into something you can use to make yourself seem like the rational one. I've already justified my claims, as in the first thing I said about you. Perhaps you've got it turned around, and it's you hicks who can't seem to keep up? Then why weren't we informed of this? Why didn't you just confirm where everyone could see it? So saying that you could've committed murders on Night 1 is metagaming, just because you say you didn't and were absent at the time. Is that what you're telling me? That makes no sense. How am I taking experiences from outside this game... of life and putting them to my advantage here? Yes, you may have been absent, but is that my fault? No. Are you lying? Probably not. Could you have committed the murders? Possibly. That's not what I said at all. I'll repeat what I said in a simpler form so you can keep up: You were not here on day 1, because you absent altogether or not. Yet, you get to come in on Day 2, and that doesn't make you suspicious at all, according to you. And for the last time, I'm not metagaming. You seemed to suggest that when you were talking about orange vegetables and past games... of life, so I assume that you are metagaming. I was merely pointing out that when people arrive late in these games... of life, it is not something to be overlooked. It may be taking occurrences from outside influences, but then, so would everything else. It's like saying "if you assume there's a killer in this game just because there was one in the last one, you're metagaming". See where the fine line fades in and out? Chatting with myself? I assume you're not going to reply to this then, which is fine by me. I just hope my fellow townies can see that you're trying to get a rise out of me, another scummy action. Though, if it's going to help us get any closer to justice, then I will go with the majority, because obviously, arguing with you is pointless. Unvote: Rhonda Falzone/ Dragonator Vote: Leanne/ Forresto
  18. Yes! I have waited and waited for this! Nice work on this, Sandy. You always manage to draw your readers (me) in, and your style has arely changed a bit since PQ. Great idea using rock monsters as gnomes, and peg legs as hooves. And these little tidbits are undermined by those great MOCs that you use simply as the backdrops. I look forward to more.
  19. Who the megabluck is Jack? I'm Lucy. Nice to meet you. Where'd you get metagaming from? I am doing nothing of the sort. You came late, but weren't even on the list. So you didn't confirm, but why did you get play? I don't see the purpose of introducing a person on Day 2 except to throw suspicion on them. Obviously you weren't. (I know what you mean). Still, you say you arrived late... now, put yourself into my shoes for a minute. I'm not a farmer or a farm moderator, but I get to come in late anyways. What does this tell you? Why do I get special privileges? Metagaming, perhaps? Again, when have I ever used incidents from past stories in my argument. Can you quote me on when I said anything of the sort? No, I don't. Leanne may very well be the best choice to vote off, but I have reasons (that I already stated) to believe that we should be convicting you instead. I have no reason to believe that Sarah is scummy, because, like Mr. Right stated, voting Sarah is just a shot in the dark. And I am NOT "metagaming", and fail to see where you could back up that accusation. I have no "grudge" with you to begin with. Suspicious of me you may be, but keep in mind of what I said- and think about it as if we were in each other's places.
  20. Excuse me? If you've ever paid any attention to these games... of life, you would realize that someone appearing late is often a clue that they have done something at night. Though, I wouldn't expect you to know that, youngster. And I NEVER said anything about one in a pair being scum, yet everyone repeats it over and over again "yeah guyz, stop making accazashons". Can you come up with any other reason why Rhonda was introduced (by the Governor) on Day 2? No, she did not "miss" Day 1 on accident, it was done for a reason. If you go look at the Day 1 thread, her name wasn't even on the list. No, it doesn't, but it doesn't mean we can just overlook this, either. Think about it logically- Rhonda did not miss Day 1 on accident, she was supposed to arrive on Day 2. Why is this? Will there be more people coming? While I agree that Leanne is trying a little too hard to get one of the cops down, I don't altogether think that her reasoning is wrong. No, that doesn't mean that every pair has one scum in it, but it is plausible to think that a cop could possibly be scum. My vote remains.
  21. One thing that I think everyone is overlooking is this farmer, Rhonda Falzone. She just got here this morning, but why? How come she wasn't here when this incident happened? Usually in these games... of life, everyone is present on Day 1. Could she perhaps have committed these murders without us even knowing she existed? Well, I think that's not to bold to say so. She could've easily prowled around, because the photographs show that everyone is present in each one. Hence my vote. Vote: Rhonda Falzone/ Dragonator
  22. It was really nice knowing you, Thok. May he be merciful, though I doubt it. Journey to the Center of the Earth: It was pretty bad. First off, I don't care how good The Mummy was, Brendan Fraiser sucks. His acting is so cheesy, and the basic parts that he usually gets are "act like a complete idiot, try to act like a gentleman, and beat up anything in your path, even if it's a dinosaur or death itself". Then, the relationship between Fraiser and the kid was so fast to turn from typical teenager-to-stranger to loving-father-and-son that it happened in literally the first five minutes. Some of the animation was good, but there were parts when the CGI really sucked. Dialogue sucked, blah blah blah... I do have to admit that the underground world was created beautifully, but other than that... I'll update this post with Layer Cake once I'm done.
  23. In a word, yes. If you like and "play" with Lego, you'll most likely be called a nerd by the narrow-minded in the US. Anyways, nice find, LegoMyMamma. They pointed out that TLG had a really close connection with its fans, which is really a great luxury to have. The AFOL (or "affel") community can help TLG design sets that will in turn be sold to the AFOLs. I like how much influence we can have. And I agree that that narrator needs to take some cough medicine...
  24. You'll have to tell me how that is, they're song "I Will Not Bow" is freakin' awesome. Good taste in music. Which albums? Also, I forgot to mention that I got new headphones (I also got new ones from St. Nick, but now I'm set until at least next year), and I got my own camera. I haven't tested it out yet, but hopefully it's good for Lego pics. And the Lego Minifigs/ Lego History two book set. Very interesting stuff, I never knew Lego was made out of wood in the 30's.
  25. Finally done exchanging presents this year, and I have to say, this is the most loot I've gotten, ever. I was amazed at how much I got this year! (These are from the whole family). Lego: - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid - Separatist Shuttle - Battle of Endor - Fighter Plane Attack - AAT - Drawbridge Defense - Temple of the Crystal Skull (kind of a present to myself from Black Friday) Movies: - The Ultimate James Bond Collection (it says all 21, but it is missing Never Say Never Again (produced by a different studio than the rest) and Quantum of Solace (Bond 22). I'm getting ready to have some intense arguments with Batbrick. ) - Mystic River - Transformers 1 - X-Men Origins: Wolverine Games: - New Super Mario Bros. Wii - Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Misc.: - Interactive Arcade (I already have a Wii, and this is a generic rip-off of it, but my grandparents got it for a really good price, so they just got it on impulse) - Money (around $80 I think) - Clothes And I've been saving up, so I'm going to the Lego store in Chicago on Monday. Spoiled.
