See this iPhone photo I took (not the best quality). Above you see a part of the 10230 booklet, which is okay. The lines are thicker. Below the 10224 booklet with thinner lines and the set was released not even 2 months after 10230

I just received 10224 Town Hall and TLG is saving on the instruction booklets as well. The Technic beams have no slits anymore (not an issue for 10224). But the town hall booklets clearly have a lower resolution. I can see the jagger diagonal edges of the bricks. Or is this just a misprint (for each of the 3 booklets?)

LEGOLAND Windsor - Star Wars Miniland Experience Mini-Raffle
merman replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
1. 100 2. That the force will be with me, because a galaxy far far away can now easily be reached with the best toy in my (parallel) universe! -
I don't like the development of the way the floors are connected. To save parts the top of the walls now have this element: The olders Modulars had a better system in which the floors fitted nicely together... I am sure it is done to save large plates

Put them on CUUSOO! I would buy them right away! When I look out of my window I see houses like these!

I know it doesn't make sense at all but my first impression when the video started was: oh... it was not designed by Jamie :( It makes me downgrade the model a bit which I know doesn't make sense, but still I regret the fact Jamie did not design it. Does anyone know why? Is he leaving the series he helped setting up or was it just Astrid doing this specific model? Still the set is amazing, don't get me wrong. It just seem to lack some of the creative gimmicks and building techniques Jamie is know for...

merman replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
to be honest I still don't see the use of the new part as opposed to the similar old part... -

9397 Technic Logging Truck

Well the 1/2 stug offset for the driving ring always has been a huge problem. So in what way does this part make it easier? Pics please! -

Thx a lot! What part is right above the driving ring? And what are the long numbers on the back of the instruction booklets? -

Could you please a photo or scan from the parts list of 9397? -
Ik sincerely hope TLG will fix the issues with the cheeseslopes. I started rebuilding my Modulars and most of the cheeseslopes have cracks. Starting from the short straight front side. Even my Pet Shop bought in June has these issues. Most notable on white, red, light grey parts...

So where is that press release?
-
I wonder if we get an official press release soon. My experience is there is always littlw time between a press release and the product release. March? Also this is the first modular with a different box orientation. The box is turned 90 degrees.

I don't get that about the mould. Piece http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4460b is still produced. It is even in 10223 Kingdom Joust. And it was in dark red in 10218 Pet Shop The color is not important for using moulds right?

I just called Lego Direct to order some broken parts of my 10197 Fire Brigade. I expressed my wishes to rerelease 10182 and 10190. He had heard several customers about it stating there was a rumor they were up for rerelease. He said he is not aware of a rerelease of these sets but knows there is a very high demand for it... Several people call about it every week. He also said that in December he had a presentation of the 1H2012 sets. He also saw the new modular (could not say what it was but of course it is Town Hall) and he could also not say when it is released. If the presentation was about 1H2012 then of course Town Hall will be released soon... at least before July...

I know this has been discussed and uttered many many many many times already, but I sincerely hope TLG will rerelease the old Modulars. I have all of them, except for 10190 Market Street. Biggest issue is some rare parts (like the dark blue arch). I am just so frustrated about this. With the mini modulars being released this is extremely frustrating, since this is a series everyone wishes to complete. Thank God I found Café Corner just in time... Hopefully the Ambassadors can send this request (again) to TLG. Or at least make the expensive parts available (Pick a Brick)

I am sure it also features a minifig wedding!

Looking at the 2H2011 online instructions of B models and the 1H2012 instructions TLG is ommiting the slits between axle holes on Technic beams, liftarms and connectors. They are only visible near cross holes. Could this mean there are plans to restyle these parts? After all the untoothed 16t clutch gear also appeared in a new form in the instructions. It would cost TLG more in ABS and it will lead to protests I am sure because it will change the look of Technic. I think it was done to save ink for printed instructions and the online ones are just in line with these. The 2H2012 renders also lack slits but that happened before on prelim images

Studless vs. Studful
merman replied to timslegos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So with that idea in mind, we might say studless building is far more interesting and fun? It is in fact more complex and versatile... The studded building was a lot about putting plates on bricks...
