  1. Of course the arms and legs can still bend...
  2. The photoshopped pictures on the boxes and in press release can sometimes be misleading. The most prominent example are the photoshopped studs. There is never a mold-point (or whatever you call them) shown. Also the bricks on official Lego pics look very shiny. Another shocking example is the way Lego shows (pearl) silver and (pearl) golden elements. The official pics of 10232 Palace Cinema had shiny golden elements. The real parts looked more matted. We as Lego fans know this but the naïeve consumer may not. Sorry, but that is just not what our bricks really look like... Also some Creator cars had wheels turned, when in fact the models could not steer. The photoshopped minifigs with wide legs is a more prominent example of photoshopping, even though it is still somewhat misleading. There is nothing wrong with making a good product look even better, but still I think the extensive use of Photoshop is debatable. What is your opinion and do you have any more examples? (sorry here on my iPad so cannot post any more pics to support my claim). An example: the mold point shown on the 1x1 bricks and plates in the Cuusoo Minecraft set: Official TLG pic: The real thing:
  3. My pet shop had a window missing and my VW van had a slope missing
  4. What do you mean by Lego having a uniform price across Europe. Not true at all. Germany is cheaper then Holland. Sometimes 10 to 15% which is outrageous considering blth countries and markets are adjacent.
  5. Hopefully that won't mean it is €20-30 more expensive in Holland, as seem to be the case nowadays...
  6. Rm8: can you get more info on the availability of the set (online/offline) and our concerns or fears of parties buying large amounts of sets for resale... Have fun in Billund!
  7. I really like building from my iPad, but these low res instructions hurt my eyes! (And why is 10240 X-Wing still not up?)
  8. Thx for your answers so far. Yes I have seen the big thread, but it is impossible to plough through. I prefer the original trilogies most, followed by the prequel trilogy. I prefer swooshable aircraft over buildings. And I am a collector, mostly into Technic and the modular buildings...
  9. I have lots of Lego but never bought a SW set. I think the license makes it quite an expensive theme. I still want to buy a SW set, so what would be the best set considering the following criteria: - below €100-120 - lots of parts - interesting figs - not too many stickers - still available
  10. Very funny: once I purchased a used MS for 150€ (with box and instructions, just some of the hoses were yellowed) from a very nice Dutch Lego-fan, with the promise I would not sell it for €600, I don't want a rerelease anymore. Before that I was almost begging Lego to rerelease it. I know, I am such a hypocrite... I also was very lucky with the CC. I bought it at the French Amazon for €130. A month later it was discontinued and extremely expensive...
  11. I suddenly realize these Technic figures may have been the basis of studless beams, if you look at their legs...
  12. well both panels may be similar in size; they have different possibilities. The new panels have more holes in the front...
  13. where and when did they say that?
  14. I SO agree with this issue. The sales tax in Holland and Germany are respectively 21% and 19%. That is a 2% difference. Yet, sets, especially exclusives like the X-Wing and Orthanc, are almost 15% more expensive in Holland. Our countries have depending economies and lie next to each other. Yet, the Germans are way better off than the Dutch. I committed my complaints to TLG and got the EXACT same answer as listed above. This price difference has been increased/severed since Dutch sales tax went from 19% to 21% in Octoebr 2012. TLG has rounded up the prices and use the tax increase as an excuse. The price differences between Europe and the US are highly debatable, the differences between European countries is absolutely unacceptable. Hopefully, the ambassadors can discuss this issue with TLG.
  15. What happened to the Sand Crawler on Cuusoo?
  16. Yup white... Are black levers a good replacement or does it look ugly?
  17. I know this subject has been debated before and I even found an online petition of a 10179 rerelease garnering hardly any support. How well did the 10179 sell? Is there a chance of either a rerelease of a new UCS Falcon when SW VII is released (especially if it features a Millennium Falcon)? It is a good way to stop the rediculous prices for new or even used sets. I know sellers/collectors/traders won't be haply with a rerelease. And if a new Falcon UCS arrives: what flaws does 10179 have that need improvement? I have held the giant box in my hands twice and now regret not buying it...
  18. I hardly ever feel the urge to make B models. The tow truck's B model uses a very ugly way to turn the boom. With a simple bush Thank God 42009 has a 32L axle and they turned the 16L axle black in stead of white!
  19. I am glad they brought back the dark bley wedge belt wheels...
  20. Maybe it sold so poorly because of the rediculous price. €200 for 1,500 parts may work in the US that has more SW aficionados. Still, it sucks us Europeans didn't get the chance to buy the set 50% off...
  21. I hardly ever do MOC's. This is one of the few examples... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=261089
  22. License plate looks printed... No sticker... Or just very well photoshopped!
  23. Hi welcome here and welcome to the addiction called modulars. For a good indication of Lego's prices visit brickset.com Basically: if the set is still in production (currently from Fire Brigade to Palace Cinema) never pay more than the prices on Brickset. If you can find it cheaper: buy them from any other store. European Amazon usually sells it around Lego's prices, sometimes a lot cheaper (like Grand Emporium and Pet Shop at the moment). I assume that is also the case with American Amazon.
