Eurobricks Event 2013 - Sign-up Topic
Legogal replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
This sounds like a great event in Gunzburg! Good to see so many Europeans pop out of the woodwork for this get together. Unfortunately it does not look as if we will be free in June next year. Will let you know if our schedule should change. Munich is a fun place any time of the year in our books, and certainly much easier to reach (for those who live far away) than is Billund. Cheers! -
A lovely design inside and out! Is there any way to add sand green to the front facade, maybe in the tile layer? It would add a little more color to the front, although many older style buildings to lack colorful facades. Way to go!

Peppy, Do you "got sumpin' special" planned for this year? Holler if you need a reference from a former "roomie!" The farm B&B sounds like a lot of fun! Hope to see you there, Legogal -
Holy cow! Everything is just placed so well. My favorites are the stunning evergreen trees on the white mountain. And the lovely colored ice flows on the side of the mountain. Did you have to use a crane to lift this the mountain as it must weight a ton? It is great to see so much white as the green and blue baseplates grow old after a while. The skiers are adorable, too. What a work of art!

My favorite colors are the sand green and the sand blue because they look so great with white trim. Lovely design! The covered porch entry is vital to keep the rain and snow away from the front door; I would do the same on the back side of the house with the porch enclosed, and leave a place for all the winter clothes and boots, like we had in Alaska. That way they can drip on the porch floor and not in the house. And when you open the door, you don't let all the warm air out. Very nice MOC's for sure!

I love this design! Have seen houses like this in about 20 countries, so maybe it represents a "world house," rather than just a Swedish one. The front porch is really special...congratulations!

Thanks for all the hard work of many folks leading us to a better system!

Wow! These all are so fantastic that I can't pick a favorite! So glad that they are on display. We have done some family builds, and it is so much fun, especially during holidays. We built the Taj Mahal kit over Christmas 4 years ago, and it was really fun working together on the kitchen table. My husband and adult son did most of the building while I found parts they needed, which is my favorite job. Then my husband built a base and installed lighting inside the Taj. A flick of the wall light switch turns it on in our stairwell. Now we do some MOC's together when time permits, and it is still fun. My son likes to build places he has visited, so his giant Petronas Towers MOC brings back memories. Hubby built a lighting harness for that one as well, and the LED's are stunning especially at night. Keep up the great work with your mom as these designs are spectacular! Congratulations to both of you!

Wow! Combining two sets really expands the possibilities, and you two have made good use of all of the parts. This is one fine MOC! Congratulations!

Any news about Eurobricks Event in Günzburg May 2013?
Legogal replied to Legogal's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
CopMike: We really appreciate all the fine work yall have done in the past putting together these Lego events. It has to be an enormous amount of planning to pull one of these off. So to all of you involved in making this happen, we would like to express a huge "Thank You!" And we hope to see yall in Gunzburg in May 2013. Cheers, Legogal and Hubby -
Si, This is spectacular! Incredible design as usual. Use of the little people is brilliant! Are you taking it to BrickCon? Can't wait to see what you exhibit there, Legogal

Shay, Congrats on your first cattle! Too bad you can't milk them daily to pay for more LEGO. From BL, a dozen varied Friends gals to help populate my Friends Book Club house and other buildings. SO glad that many folks don't care for these Sweeties, so we can buy them for less. Thanks, Guys

Hard to decide, but I have to give all 3 to: 5. DarkDragon 3 because of the creativity and how difficult making a Lego film is. Loved that the song was so perfect for the video. And you could feel computer man's pain when she rejected his offer of a soda with ice....man was that thoughtful!

Love this MOC, especially Darth on pink wheels with a frog passenger! Very creative! See, who says pink is all bad? It makes your photo really jump from the screen! -
It was very entertaining seeing all of the various entries. Congrats to all on some very fine builds. And such wonderful prizes....Wow! IT has been fun having a summer of pink after all of these years of basic colors. Maybe we should shoot for the pastel decade of LEGO....wouldn't that be colorful and easy on the eyes!

Uh ohhhh! Reminds me way too much of the schools/unis I taught at for over 20 years.... Most of my students really majored in subjects such as hot tubs rather than in what their parents thought they were paying for. Regardless of which side of the fence one is on (professor or student), it is a cool little build! Cheers!

Simon, WAY TO GO! We won't ask for the details of just how you did it! Everyone at Brickcon will want to check out the new Chihuly Glass Garden and House at Seattle Center if you have not yet seen it. It is expensive at $26. a day, but well worth it. It just opened to raves in late May and requires a night visit as well to get the full impact of the glass sighted with the Space Needle behind it...in the dark. (If anyone knows how to access coupons to lower the cost of visiting this place, please post it for all of us who don't live in King County and qualify for the $15. resident ticket.) Cheers!

I LOVE the color of the house!!! (Sorry Alasdair!) The smooth tiles are perfect; are those benches in the front for sitting while talking, watching people go by, and eating ice cream? Perfect!
-
Thanks! Great quiz set up! Creator is fine with me!
-
Thanks! Nice office! And view! Looks a bit like Sleeping Lady (a plateau mountain) viewed from Anchorage, Alaska.

Thanks! These really are cute polybags! They will make great little gifts for the holidays.Hope they make it to the US.

Wow! What a fine recreation of this building! It is very clean and smooth with a wonderful use of parts that make it look like the real building. Thanks for including the original building photo. Your Dad is so lucky to receive this as a gift. Congratulations!
-
Hope you do/did some nice builds during the recovery time. I have done some cool MOC's while recovering from knee and foot operations; it really does make the day go by faster when you are in pain.

D2C Contest: Professor Hale's Oasis Hacienda
Legogal replied to Rufus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Rufus, What a cool house! The clay tile roof and tile floor of the front porch are lovely. Wish they had had a house set like this in this theme because the Moorish parts and colors make it quite catching. Another masterful job with so many fine touches! Keep up the fine work! -
Very cool plane! Like the design and colors. Way to go, woman!
