Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators
Fuppylodders replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm quite happy with the way the front page is at the moment. Even if there is suddenly a big splurge of new FP stuff with a quick turnaround. It sometimes draws me to themes I wouldn't necessarily usually look at, or news that I would never otherwise have known about. If I feel I missed a previous FP... well... That is what my mouses scroll wheel is for, and works perfectly to keep up with previous FP's too -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
Fuppylodders replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have to say, The Twilight is one of th emost unappealing for me. Not only for its price, but as previously mentioned, the scale, and its just a horrid looking ship anyways... a box with a fold out back and one wing.... eugh! -
This is pretty fun! I think the scout trooper needs to be doing some breakdancing though :P

Most definitely a huge improvement! Although your city may look relatively tidy I think there is plenty of room for personal preferential changes to it. I must say this now does look superior to TLG one, and I can see that you have put much love into this. And for something that has had as much love put into it by the creator I can suggest nothing other than for you to over time, turn this beauty into a reality! Surely the pictures are impressive... but imagine the grin on your face if you had this one right in front of you, created by you!

Totally agreed. I'm still waiting for my response from TLG too

[MOC] Naboo Heavy Freight Carrier - Mini
Fuppylodders replied to Admiral-Ackbar's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I really like it! And I'm not normally one for minis... but I can certainly see where you are going with it! With regards to the engines, looking at all the other Naboo ships the engines are only those cylinder things (the bits you have coming out the sides) I understand about the big ones at the back underneath, but perhaps integrate a couple more Naboo looking engines out the side, or perhaps a slightly bigger one coming out on top ( rather than the bigger ones at the underneath back... but then again, being a freighter it is entirely possible they might have put a big bulky engine on the back to help with its power of carrying freight) Either way... Brilliant little moc! Makes me wish to see a bigger version of this now too! -
This does look pretty tidy! But is there any chance of close ups of the city/greebling and the underside?

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Fuppylodders replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would hope that the shuttle owuld be out for up to another year... I want to make a Sentinel... and the 10212 would be an awesome starting point for one =s -
That looks pretty nifty! I like the way you have the wings angled as you do. I'm not clued up on Mandalorians at all, but it definitely does have a Star Wars'y feeling to it.

Bah.... dam b****rds... Why did they have to touch the UK price? Now Im not feeling it so much at the £149 price... I mean come on! The pet shop is only 32 pieces less.... but for £30 cheaper! How can they justify that price jump?! Town Hall is 2766 pieces, a whole 702 more pieces for the same bloody price!!!! WTH are you playing at TLG?! Now TLG just revised whether I'll be buying this set or not... Ive sent in a complaint, I'll post the response I get, here...

It looks ok as a starting point for room for improvement, as already suggested, I think some snot would work wonders for this. Also have a look at how some people have achieved water effects out of lego trans-colour plates, it can make a hell of a difference from water looking 'ok' to looking 'very detailed'. It certainly has some good potential for a great scene though!

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If they didn't put a minifig with it, I wouldn't be displeased providing all those other features worked well enough. However if they were to include a minifig I would hazard a guess of at least 1 minifig being the B-wing pilot -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I hope that if it does include power functions that they don't compromise the 'complete hull structure plate covering' making it look like it is really made out of just technic sorta thing... I prefer my UCS models to look complete, not half finished with motors inside them... Especially as it is supposed to be UCS Whether it is a teaser or not, I'd say its too far fetched to be able to distinguish whether it is minifig scale or not just by seeing a tiny grayed image with no detail whatsoever apart from an outline... -
How much is your SW collection worth?
Fuppylodders replied to Admiral-Ackbar's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is a Lego forum after all, so I would assume it was already implied that Lego SW was the aforementioned subject, not just SW items in general I have yet to figure out just what exactly I do own as some is in my mums loft and will stay there until I manage to get a house of my own... perhaps I'll work out an estimate and edit this post later with it -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Fuppylodders replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yah... I'm kinda getting the same feeling... What makes it slightly more sad is for someone who collects so much, I remember watching a vid of his and he actually couldn't remember the names of some of the things he had, one being an AT-AT.... But anyhoos... /total madoka envy -

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Same. And if it is remotely the same quality as Cavegod's version I'll be most thoroughly happy ^_^ -
Thanks to Mutley's pics which included 2x 8019 Republic attack shuttles... I finally bit the bullet and bought one off ebay for £29.90... no box but everything else included... not bad I think?

It appears that the majority of people bringing up price as an issue are people outside of the UK, because the price in their currency equates to be quite a bit higher in comparison to what we are completely and most fortunately going to be getting it for over here in the UK. I just hope they don't bump up the UK price to match the other countries

There is already the monster fighters graveyard, that'll do for me

Im not sure it was intended to be 100% directly related to the 'playset' style of the rest of the MF line, more directed at the AFOL audience, but with the ability for the children to enjoy it as a 'huge playset' with just enough play features, the amount of minifigs and the certain amount of detail put into it. With that in mind that it isn't mainly intended as a playset, but at the AFOL, the GITD pieces don't have as much of an enticement about them as kids would usually find, as the many other details that are put into getting the most authentic 'haunted house' look possible that the AFOLs would more appreciate. Perhaps trying to squeeze more GITD pieces for the sake of more GITD pieces would have ended up making it look cluttered and those pieces might have seemed out of place? as well as having to add extra cost on, or taking away from some of the other more necessary pieces to create the haunted house look to the high detail that has currently been made. I don't honestly know, this is just my opinion...

Uhm, if you read what I have said in a previous post to this, I already stated I felt it was just coincidental similarities, nothing more. I fully believe the designer made this without viewing someone elses, and this entirely came to his mind... What the last post I made was referring to, was Vindice's suggestion that this forum isn't policed enough with regards to set/general bashing. I think you have come in halfway through a debate within a debate and got it completely misunderstood.
-
OK, so lets all become 'yes' men with one generalised opinion that anything they do is brilliant. No one has their own opinion unless it is to congratulate them on their brilliantness. This as far as I was aware, was a forum, that was allowed to state their opinion. I highly doubt TLG head people tell their designers they like everything that their designers make without some sort of constructive critisism, or opinionated view. If you want to police out all the varying opinions of people that aren't agreeing with your own, then why don't you go create your own forum? Then you can go police it as much as you like, and have just the sort of thing that you agree with on there. And then who knows, perhaps TLG designers will visit it because it will be a bash free site? You start taking away peoples opinions that aren't actually bashing, but trying to get to the bottom of something, then you start to take away individuality and the creativeness that helps to promote Lego... *edit* Most lego designers won't come to this site (or many others) regardless (for reasons the designer stated himself), for fear of coincidental similarities, such as this. It just happens that it has finally happened even though all procedures were in place to prevent this from happening, through pure bad luck, it happened anyways.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Id have to say, that in itself is an arrogant generalised, and incorrect view. You call people idiots for posting moronic responses, and 'trying to tear him down'. All of that is incorrect. What they are trying to do is distinguish the similarities and judge whether it had inspiration from a previously built similar haunted house. People have opinions, and to be fair, it is understandable they may feel it had certain aspects used as inspiration because they do look the same, however as I stated previously, there are bound to be some similarities when trying to reproduce something from the same source. Peoples responses are opinions. Opinions are never guaranteed to be 100% right or wrong. They are merely trying to find out if an injustification has occurred or not (my opinion is it hasn't) Yours if anything, was the idiotic and arrogant one. But hey, that's just my opinion
