  1. I have to say, I was sceptical but unsure at first. But now thinking about it, I can totally see how he could easily have come up with similarities coincidentally. Not from his recent responses, but by thinking about how it could happen to me. Im still relatively new to moccing, so I do look to other places for inspiration. He however is already an experienced lego builder/designer. So for him, those inspirations can simply come from his experience of 'just knowing' which parts would fit and work best with a certain look. As said previously, if working from the same source, there most certainly will be similarities, because they are both trying to achieve the same source image feel. I've designed a minifig scale AT-AT. I know others have done this, and I also know there are a few that have achieved this near to perfection. When I was designing parts of mine without having looked closely how they achieved theirs, I found that I came to similar conclusions after looking through the list of available parts to use. First off, the general shape is already so similar that I could be easily accused of having 'far too many similarities' that I hadn't so much designed it myself, rather than had just simply copied the majority and changed a few bits here and there to make it 'appear' different'. But how am I to achieve what I feel is the best representation which works with certain methods, when others have also done what they feel works with the best method, of which we have both individually come to the same conclusion? I actually feel ashamed for my original but un-thought out scepticism, for the fact that I now understand how very easily possible it is that this could innocently happen, and that he more than likely feels his very nicely designed house is now tainted with these thoughts... I don't think I posted much, if anything, to debate the whole similarities thing, but even for thinking it, I feel I owe him an apology.
  2. Mutley, you've just made me feel like I need to get some republic attack shuttles now :( When will it end!!!!
  3. I think Shaak Ti, although I do have to say Malgus is a leap into awesomeness of actual creation and details :o
  4. Agreed. I recently bought this set, and can't be happier that I did. It is quite bulky compared to the recent Tie Fighter. You actually do feel you are getting your moneys worth. I bought the 9500 off amazon.es for a mere £61, I live in the UK. Perhaps you might try looking elsewhere to buy it from to save yourself some money? I definitely feel at the £61 it is more of a bargain than just a decent amount saved.
  5. £60 for the ghost train, as much as I liked the set before, I think that price just made it appear more 'wantable'! definitely getting it!
  6. Just checked S&H... They're available now! yay =D
  7. I forget as half of it is boxed up due to space. I havn't so much as gone for 'army' type of collection, but if I remember correctly, this is how it goes: Republic: 7676 Republic Gunship ARC Republic Gunship (blue and white custom version) Dropship+AT-OT 8088 ARC170 Starfighter Swamp Speeder Republic Frigate AT-TE V-19 Torrent CIS: Droid Tri fighter 2x 7929 Droid Carriers Imperial: Tie Fighter (new one) Darth Vaders Tie Advanced Tie Defender Sith Fury Class Interceptor Rogue Shadow 10188 Death Star 10212 Imperial Shuttle 8129 AT-AT Palpatine's Shuttle (working on a UCS AT-AT too =D) Rebels: 2x X-wings Millennium Falcon ... My rebels are lacking a bit :o Perhaps in my world, the Imperials win =D
  8. This set is also perfect for people like me who are starting to get Interested in house building but don't really know how to start. I can get this, se from its design how to build it and practice extending on it,. The set in itself is full of details. Anything more would only be accomplished by making your own to satisfy a personal requirement. TLG had to design this to cater to a huge variety of peoples ideas of a detailed haunted house. For those that are currently thinking there isn't enough detail in this set, there will also be those that if this did have more detail, would think it is to crammed with far to much detail. As it is I think it is a perfect amount. The best thing about Lego? You can modify it. So add te extra detail yourself I think theprice is fine (for the UK)
  9. Received my Sith Fury Class Interceptor yesterday from Amazon.es, I must say, for the £61 that I paid for it from their huge discount, most certianly made this set VERY good value for money, I can't help but feel I've 'won' with this set, everything is awesome in it, the minifigs are just brilliant, and the build is most definitely enjoyable and entertaining. The final item is very cleverly built with the way the wings move!
  10. Seems a logical response. THey're not selling them, so they are not making a business contract with anyone (I guess) thus there is no infringement on 'rights to sell action figures'. (Total ignorance of law, this is just my brain trying to think logically and so I could also be wrong :P)
  11. Now THAT is much more reasonable, and I can go with that, for what one gets with the set. I was expecting at least £80-90 on the price originally, so, my judgement of the set isn't so harsh now. TLG, You have redeemed yourselves! Great job!
  12. Hothbricks has shown us how cheap we can pick up the new summer wave of SW sets. Example, I just ordered the Sith Fury class Interceptor (inc shipping) for a total of £61 =D That's £29 off TLG retail price!
  13. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YAY! Thanks to HothBricks I have just ordered the Sith Fury class Fighter (I live in the UK) for a very modest £61 INCLUDING SHIPPING!!!! I am soooo excited!!! Never thought Id get it THAT cheap, let alone before its UK release =D Check out the link for more cheap prices of the SW summer wave, VERY worthwhile. (Hothbricks links to Spains version of Amazon btw) *disclaimer* Trust buying from the Spanish Amazon at your own risk, I have only just placed my order so have not received it yet. I will keep posted.
  14. Very nifty! I do like the body! I think the legs perhaps could do with being slightly longer? But other than that, brilliant little set! Especially the slideout cockpit seat =D
  15. Because not all of us have money growing out of our arses like you clearly do. And for what you are getting, yes it IS genuinely expensive for part of a hobby for getting something so little. Being arrogant about other peoples opinions doesn't come across as cool either.
  16. The middle joint on the legs will pivot/rotate under the weight and the core ship will end up sitting on its bottom rather than the feet. If you can make them more solid it might help it.
  17. This is brilliant! I like the posability of it too. What part did you use for the ball socket/joint bit?
  18. To be fair, who really knows when we will see some 'leaked' pics. Just look at the B-Wing so far, and Palp's Arrest. Palp pics wernen't even leaked at all. Just appeared when it suddenly randomly became released in Germany. As for the B-wing, well... I'm sure Cavegod can give us a better idea of that
  19. Agreed with above statements, it would be lovely to see the interior, interiors are usually rather pleasing to gaze at
  20. Cant say im impressed with this set at all... nothing new about it, just a couple of new prints, and a golden hilt... 'big wow' considering the huge price for it all =/ The only reason I see to get this is purely so one can say they own the set. Total let down IMO. No new figures at all.
  21. AHhhh!!! Im seriously struggling to hold off getting my second one of these because of this very reasonable price I now know of because of you!
  22. I can't believe I finally fell for it... Usually I spot necros a mile off but.... Darnit.
  23. It is too difficult to really get a decent view of this without any better/more revealing pictures and so limiting the ability to really give any critique/commendation on your efforts, but I will keep an eye on this for when further pictures do appear
  24. It was difficult to really get a feel for the size of this moc, until that last picture!! Its huge!!! And despite you mentioning the oversize of the cockpit/undersize of the rear, it still retains a really nice look to it from the source version =D And there is an interior as well! Very much a nice clean build there :)
  25. Oh wow! That is worth getting for the minifigs alone! (perhaps not the gungan... but still, the rest
